Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

Probably loose wheel nut and centrifugal forced sheared wheel studs off.
My buddy lost a wheel while driving. turns out his mechanic forgot to tighten the lugnuts all the way

I live in Sweden and these cars are called moped cars becuse they only go 45 km/h. They are mopeds but with a car chassi

Haha, that shit with the wheel flying off happened to my dad when I was a kid. He had taken the brakes to get serviced and they didn't tighten the lug nuts. After a few miles driving, same shit happened. We felt the sudden drop and our tire went bouncing over several cars and hit a telephone pole. We walked back and found all the lug nuts, one by one. Put the tire back on and drove home just fine.

Really enjoying the videos!! As an insurance agent, I thought I would chime in on the first accident in this video. James' Tesla was covered because he had collision coverage on his policy not because he had Uninsured Motorist coverage. The UM coverage would have paid for any medical damages James would have incurred as a result of the accident but it wouldn't have repaired/replaced his Tesla. UM is medical coverage only, not property coverage. Just a common thing that I see people get confused about on a daily basis and thought I'd clarify. Keep'em coming!!
I have notice one thing in most of the accidents where victims are expecting other drivers will not break any slight rules while driving and when they do a accident is inevitable because they are not prepared!
At 12:10 when the other driver cross double yellow line, this guy was never saw that coming.
In some videos we have seen people crossing red lights. Driver who are waiting for green light hits gas pedal with the lights turn green and when someone is trying to run red light accident happens because people with green light don't expect other cars coming from red light! If people wait for few seconds on green light to double if anyone is not running in their red light an accident can be prevented!

A YIELD sign is a terrible burden ...
.. a yield sign means that you do not necessarily need to stop BUT when you do proceed the burden is entirely upon you to make sure the traffic is clear of obstruction.
In Antonio’s case the other vehicle was driving on the wrong side of the road after crossing a double yellow line which would supersede any of Antonio’s burden at the yield sign. That other driver was entirely in the wrong.
In safest driving practices Antonio should have waited to proceed until there was no doubt what so ever he had a clear path to travel, making his choice to proceed ... wrong. Here Antonio could have been legally in the right of way but also be dealing with a head-on collision. Patient is always safer.

11:50 That's a weird yield scenario (yielding to oncoming left-turning traffic). Honestly, I'd probably be slightly confused the first time encountering that.
I think around here (north east US) they would usually curve the road (i.e. lines) to the off ramp and slap a stop sign from the direction the tesla is going with appropriate markings to indicate you are crossing oncoming traffic that has the right of way.

What is it with vehicles loosing wheels in America. When I was I’m America (Florida) years ago a car lost a wheel in front of us. It appears to be very common over there.
I've ordered the tri motor cyber truck fsd last April & may buy the S Plaid as well. I've been a long time invested in TSLA.. & got solar & battery battery back up system to charge them both. I LOVE SPACE X TOO!!

At 5:40 the geese crossed the road. When I was in high school, I skipped a lot of school. It got to the point where I would be kicked out f I missed another day. I missed the bus one morning and had to drive to school. My truck was broken because the master cylinder was going bad. You had to pump the brakes 6 plus times to get it to sort of stop. I took all back roads to school and prepared early for any stops. As I approached the school a line of ducks started to cross in front of me. I pumped the brakes and slowly....slowly....slowly rolled into the line of ducks. The truck stopped halfway through the line of ducks. I took off and in the rear view I could see 3 or 4 birds flapping on the road. I felt terrible and didn’t drive again until the truck was fixed.

i think maybe there was some damage inside of the brake since the brakes are connected to the wheels, it maybe damaged something else that made the wheel fall off

10:00 I have a theory why that truck's wheel might have fallen off. (With apologies to Ron White.) Maybe he had his tire changed at one of those places that sends their mechanics to tire college for three days, but his mechanic was sick on LUG NUT DAY! 🤣 On a more serious note, the most common causes for that kind of accident: Loose or broken lug nuts, broken wheel studs, broken axles, or if there is a problem with the axle/spindle nut and the hub comes loose, the hub and wheel can fly off.
11:43 - Not Antonio's fault at all, that's 100% on the red car since it went over the double yellow. Antonio yielded properly since the red car would have been past him at the time of the turn had it been made in the proper spot.
That is a poorly designed intersection though- I guarantee that it creates traffic problems at the very least, and it probably generates accidents as well.

12:00 the submitter did exactly what he was supposed to. He cautiously entered the intersection after determining he was clear to go, and stayed in a low speed to give himself enough time to react to that exact situation.

Amund needs to learn how to drive safely !!
1) EVERYTHING Amund did escalated the danger in that situation.
2) If you see someone driving erratically or suspect they are drunk THE LAST THING you want to do is pull out in front of that driver. From behind you can control how close you allow that car to get to you ... you can brake, create huge safety buffers, pull off the road or turn to simply choose a different route TO PROTECT YOURSELF. NONE of those option are available when you get in front of that driver.
Of course it is inconvenient to make compensations for a person who probably should not be driving on the road at all ... but nothing is more inconvenient than failing to get home alive.
Shame on whambaamteslacam for not pointing out that there are safer option in driving and specifically pointing out when a driver is making choices that endanger themselves and surrounding vehicles.
Whambaamteslacam you can do better.

8:10 The other driver was getting frustrated by the slow poke in the Tesla, which prompted a furious pass by his 4-cyl p.o.s.
What caused that wheel to fall off was the simple fact that they had recently put it on and failed to tighten the lug nuts.

Unfortunately I know that’s true for most Prius drivers. My sister owns a Prius and will usually wait till it’s close to her exit to get over, but she uses her signal and looks in her blind spot though. I drive a Toyota Highlander. But someday would like a Tesla or a Toyota Mari.

The truck losing it's whell might have been caused by the lug nuts NOT being fastened and also it might have been caused by the friction of the wheels.

A lot of these rear end collisions could have been avoided if Tesla put more thought into the brake lights. On every model there’s literally 3 little thin strips of LEDs, a least on the model S theres the huge unmistakable third brake light. But the other models definitely suffer from a lackluster design. No wonder they’re rear ended so much.

Probably but it could be loose or broken lugnuts or the wheel bearing froze up and snapped the wheel off. Hard to say without seeing the vehicle and the tire.
