Probably because it's a flawed release. On a blues guitarists channel testing fuzzes, he tested the Joyo and a seemingly knowledgeable guy commented how it's a clone of a such and such pedal but he explained the schematic against the final build as it being made wrongly and in turn only sounding half as good as it should
@mikerauter1859 it's a rather compact sound, doesn't break out unless u are using the high gain settings then it's pretty good, but I wasn't looking for that sound. I guess it's suitable for different purposes, I got another clone from mosky recently it was a muff clone with four settings, that was pretty great. It's called the Big Fuzz.
@FuzzedandDoom97 check out the Ground FX Grayskull, its essentially just that. It's a Rat style circuit with an added gain stage and a digital octave down so it's polyphonic unlike analog octave circuits. You can also use the octave down or distortion circuit independently of one another. Fuzzed Drones has a demo of one, I've been meaning to get one but haven't been able to spare the money. I'm just surprised you dont see it more in heavy music
Cheap Amazon pedals sound every bit as gnarly as the boutique garbage and you have tons of money left over for beer and lucifer lettuce.
i have the joyo, got it years ago. i feel it doesnt get low frequencies, thats what i hate about it. It has a bite though just not feeling dark vibes.

Ibanez fz7 is rad too@@redskysaturn75
I wonder why there's not more octave down fuzzes? I love octave down stuff especially not having a bass player sadly.
@@CryptToneMusic I’ve always wanted a life pedal but with a octave down option

the mxr blue box does this, or you can get a boss oc2 type thing (danelectro chili dog, TC electronics nether) and put it after a fuzz
@@AmiGuitar had a blue box a while ago didn’t satisfy me personally too glitchy imo, gonna try the octave after the fuzz sometime down the road.
Joyo is the peavey of pedals imo they make really great cheap shit
In the wonderful world of chinese clones, those two are exactly the same. I think it was Mr Wang who made this one.
@@Zarathoustra811 yea pretty much
