Hello friends!!! What’s on your list of things to do when you travel to a new city???
We always try to find small mom and pop restaurants, antique
Stores and some history about the place we are at ! We also ride around a lot on the back streets to find little hidden gem places !!
Go to the supermarket for treats and juices for my hotel room x
You are so funny ( dust off ur flip flops )
I always buy a extra collapsable duffle bag to shop and that ends up being my 2nd bag coming home. I always Google odd and fun things about where I’m going. If it involves a dirt road and a right turn, I’m on it. Lol i always ask questions and look for something different each time I visit.
👋 there, greetings from 🇬🇺 Guam! It's the opposite for me, it's usually hot here on island. It takes 4.5 hours to go to Japan or South Korea 🛫 and its about 8hrs flight to Hawaii; and I'm ever so thankful to my work that I am able to go to conferences stateside. I like visiting trader joes and bringing back snacks for friends and family.😋
Sightseeing
I like any well written book, but, if everything else is equal, I like steamy not clean. 😀 I am sitting here in western Washington shivering but even though I grew up in the Deep South, I handle cold better than excessive heat. Would be lovely to spend most of the winter on a warm beach and most of the summer in Alaska, so the snowbirds that can do that are doing great. 😀. It’s been about 12 years since I have had any kind of vacation but I love to be on, in, or beside the water, so that’s what I would choose.
Many people tend to travel to Warmer places during the winter time.
Hawaii people love going to Trader Joes and bringing back all the goodies when we visit the mainland!
Love the picture of the whole family.
Isn't it so great! Fun to see most of the family gathered like that!
I have already been on 2 vacations this winter, Now I am ready to do my summer vacations at home in Alaska, no flying!
Yes!! Me too!
Look at you with your fancy editing tricks 😉
I saw strawberries in the market here in the Palm Springs area for $2.98 a dozen. I thought of you.
We have lots of snowbirds here!!! I’m moving to Phoenix soon where there are also lots of snowbirds.
Since I don’t eat out often I always eat out with friends in Arizona or Utah, especially if it involves cheesecake. I stay up late and play cards or board games with friends. I don’t have friends in Seattle so going somewhere with a friend is always a bonus.
I hope you make some friends Cindi! You have so much light to give.
I also rarely eat out, and when l do, it's with my parents or Miss Teen (or both) it does make it extra special when you get to go out with a Ftiend ❤️
Can’t beat the price of the orange you peeled, what a treat.Sounds like you all had a great time relaxing and shopping! Beautiful neighbourhood there in Arizona.Safe trip home!🇨🇦
I like to also eat at places I cant have where I live.
Yeah i have been wanting a book recommendation! I read Christian romance and love historical romance. Love your videos! Thank you
Oh I loved seeing the sunshine!! It has been a long winter here (eastern Canada) as well!! When we travel my sons must go to restaurant is also Chick-Fil-A!!
Hi Lauren, luv ur Vlog with ur Beautiful Family , Thanks for Sharing it looks Awesome 🥰🥰🇬🇧
Exceptional episode! I enjoyed learning about your travels and your priorities when traveling! The only trip I've taken in many years is to see my dear little grandchildren! It's all about cherishing every minute I have with them!
Agree this one was really top notch 👌
Good afternoon Hamm family. I am in Moonee Ponds a suburb about 6 kilometres from the centre of Melbourne which is the capital of the state of Victoria and Australia's 2nd largest city. Since the beginning of March we are in Autumn, your Fall and the weather is cooler. We never get snow but it does get cold here. The pop song "Four seasons in one day" was written in Melbourne about Melbourne. We probably won't get any really hot days or nights now until Spring. love your vlogs and particularly love Miss Luna. Bye for now, Karen, Peter and Rocky the kitty xxxx 💕💕 💕
Your rocking that hat! So cute on you!
Oh thank you!
I live in Sweden and not even very far north and I’m so over winter now! Thank god my family are going to Gran Canaria next week and I’m very excited for that
We learned about rocket fizz on a episode of undercover boss. We found out we had one in lake tahoe and reno and always a fun trip for my boys when we go. Such a fun place :) Looks like you all had an amazing fun trip.
We use to have cold root beer in Macdonald when I first moved here but it got discontinue. Now either we order from America which is expensive or go without. My favorite was Pepsi Max with ginger but that too got discontinued too in its place was pepsi max cherry and raspberry. Not for me. I stick to pepsi max and sugar free Orange tango.
I love the snow there it’s beautiful
I had to laugh when I saw your baggage options. I’m from Bermuda and we ship practically everything back to the Island. When traveling by air on my trips I would only have two, at most three outfits. We would stack our empty bags within each other. On our Christmas trips we would go dumpster diving for boxes. We would stack all of our Christmas toys in the boxes than take our boxes and airship as cargo the night before we returned home. Those were fun shopping trips!
Thank you so much for sharing y'all spring break trip with your family ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Our pleasure!
I'm glad you had fun 😊 seems Luna missed you!
Yes!!
Hi there from a humid and already in the 80s Houston. My husband and I are originally from South Africa and when we go to visit our grocery list is about as long as our eating out list!😀
I live in Wisconsin. We are similar to Alaska in the fact that we choose to vacation in the winter as well and our state is so beautiful in the summer and fall! On our bucket list now is visiting Alaska, (because of your channel!!) while we would want to visit in the summer there and that would mean leaving Wisconsin in the summer.. we know we will do it. 😁 Have a blessed day!
I love the way you tell a story. The narration on your videos is excellent. I have never known a You Tuber to be so genuinely grateful for all the goodies you have received from many countries, l think relatable is the word l am looking for here. ❤️ Ikea is awesome it's also lethal on the bank balance because you see so many things you never knew you needed 🤣. It's great that you still manage to fit in time to move your body even on vacation, whether it's a hike with your Dad, ride a bike, or walk the cute dog Phin you still choose time for you. Thanks for sharing (your Mum looks lovely 😍) l particularly enjoy how you tell a story 😊
Thank you for sharing your beautiful day 🌞
loved this Vid Lauren......I'm totally different....I love the cold.....I have spent my entire life in the heat of Australia & hate it.....I wish I could live in Alaska freezing cold winters & mild Summers....but that is just me I guess we all are different....& I got to see Luna.......she is soooo precious......love yas xx
Personally, l love the heat of Melbourne and have lived in Singapore and Malaysia for 5yrs, unfortunately since a serious illness diagnosis late last year I'm constantly burning up, and this year, I have certainly felt the Summer more than ever not sure lm at the point of Alaska's winters though ❤️
Yeahhhh !! Finally you are back. Missed you lots and lots.
Your trips to Arizona are some of my favorite videos to watch! I went to GCU for college so I lived in the Phoenix area for a bit. As a lifelong Alaskan, it was so different but I fell in love and consider it my second home now ❤ In-n-Out, Salad & Go, Taco Guild and Bosa donuts are our must go places for food! Sam’s, Trader Joe’s and going to new Costco’s are the shopping staples! 🎉
Blessings and Have a Great Weekend Lauren. 🙏🙏❤❤🌷🌻
I had so much fun shopping with you, I could have lingered a while longer, but I understand your time restrictions. Tons of shopping places here in Orange County, CA. but I do not go! 🤷 I have to say I got a bit excited when you showed the candy store, and I spied my little eye on a Aba Zabba that was pink, black & white...oh my goodness, what flavor could that had been? Strawberry 🍓 or Cherry 🍒...yum!!!
So glad you were able to get away with Weston & Everett, a special time together for sure! I hope the guys had luck on their hunt & I hope they made a video for the Alaska Boys Channel!!!
Thanks, Lauren, an awesome video!!!
👍👍
I've enjoyed seeing your Arizona vacation. Really nice weather & lots of fun places to visit.
When I visit Mesa from Minnesota always go to organ stop pizza they been around since the 90s I believe grandparents always took us there
I just ❤you!!! I ❤️ am so enjoying your videos of you and your beautiful family living in Alaska! Godspeed!
Does the dog belong to your parents.? Have only seen your kitty. You give such insight into looking at life in a different way. It is so fun to share your adventures‼️Thanks for taking us along👍😊❤️
Hi Lauren glad you could get away
Definitely Whataburger! I spent my summers as a kid in TX, so it's a favorite of mine that I get to share with my family when we travel south. We don't have them here in WA.
When I visit Florida I like to go a place called sharkeys ( seafood) when I visit Connecticut I like to go to Tony’s ( grinders) some call them hoagies or subs. And when I visit Maine I like the Italians ( a sub) red hot dogs and lobster rolls and whole belly clams.
Good morning and Happy Friday
I have not ever travelled from somewhere extremely warm or cold or visa versa to another destination.
It is a bit of a shock to the system!
Good to see in your videos in warm and cold weather, take care Lauren stay safe and warm, till next time ❤👍🙏
OMG, Five Guys Burgers and Fries....so good.
I think this is your best video yet ❤❤❤
I love watching you and the family, you are a inspiration ❤️
Thank you so much! Grateful to have you here.
@@ThisAlaskaLife I was the lucky one to find you and your adventures 😁 Great stuff
Great vlog Lauren, love the way your vloggimg skills have evolved too. Great to see you doing so well, you deserve it. Hugs from Scotland x
Thank you so much. That means a lot. I am never sure how it is going to all come together in the end but I am finding a nice balance between being present as well as still filming a youtube video. It has taken a lot of trial and error but I like where we are headed!
Well said 👍
Wow, Lauren, did you really use a picture of Liverpool One shopping centre in the UK in your Video to show somewhere that has lots of different shops. Love this from a "scouser" in Liverpool UK. Love all your videos, especially all that snow 🤩🤩
I just typed in mall on my stock video program! That is so cool that you recognized it!!
@@ThisAlaskaLife it was my sister who messaged me to tell me it was definitely Liverpool one. 😁😁
@This Alaska Life : That's so cool that it got recognised by someone who actually lives there 👍
Brilliant video Lauren love seeing you all having a good time
I love Ikea!! We have one about 30 minutes from us but don't go as often as I would like because I spend way to much! LOL! I do buy all my towels there as they are good quality, cheap and have little loops sewn into them for hanging up after use. Sometimes it is the little things ;) I buy their storage containers there also if they have green, red or clear lids. They are not the best quality BUT you get a a LOT for the price and are perfect to give baked item in during the Holidays or take a little something to pass at gatherings and don't need or want the container back. Have you tried the meatballs? YUM!
Like any vacation it's nice to come home!!
It really is!
Nice get away 😊
Funny intro, dust on flip flops still laughting.
I imagined it and then couldn’t get it out of my head until I made it happen. 😝
Just a thought for shipping things home use USPS
Sooooo expensive!!! $$$
What a great trip! It’s always great to spend time with family.
I love going to the beach and eating fresh seafood and crab legs, everything tastes better at the beach!
Good Afternoon Hamm Family ❤️
We've been having spring weather here, mostly in the upper 60s and mid 70s during the day, sunny and breezy. Today it's 53°F and overcast with intermittent showers. Sun or rain, the house is opened up 🏡
So glad y'all made it there and back from Arizona. We make time for campouts, reunions and holiday gatherings as often as possible throughout the year. Time with Family is the best - a blessing. I hope Mark, Hunter and Bennett had a great hunting adventure 👨👩👦👦
Mark and I had a busy day yesterday: dropped Maggie off at Doggie Day Care, gave Dakota and Ash some peace and quiet at home, while I got my hair done, then Mark and I did our monthly shopping at Wally World and SAMs and stopped at O'Kelly's - a local deli and bakery. I'm still exhausted 😪
I'm too familiar with packing that extra bag or shipping during big trips; also with the wide arrangement of outfits: hot to cold and cold to hot depending on time of year and location. New Hampshire was the closest I came to being like Alaska in the temperature fluctuations and packing. Twice I went from warmer temps in Missouri to shoveling out my car temperatures in NH. Oy 🤦🏼♀️
Our hottest day so far was yesterday at 88°F... nope... my favorite temps are between 30° and 74°F, so I can empathize with Everett: it is indeed too hot 🥵
Pool time - nice flip - bike riding, scootering and cute doggie walks with cousins or on your own are too fun. Bike riding was a fav before my body said, "NO!" We recently inherited two recumbent bikes (in good condition) from a dear friend whose Husband passed. He knew how much I loved them and even allowed me to ride his to see if it'd work for me... it did... we just never got around to buying our own. Mark refurbished them a little and they're good to go. Can't wait to get them out and go exploring 🚴♀️
Great book recommendations. I'm not into romance novels, but a dear friend, a sis-in-love and a niece are. Will pass on. I'm more into suspense, thrillers, murder mysteries, etc. My fav authors are: Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, John Sandford, Tami Hoag and some Nora Roberts (not the romance ones). I'm also into books like/from: Herman Melville, Jules Verne, Mark Twain, Laura Ingalls, JK Rolling, Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, etc. 📚
My Dad had an orange tree. Fresh fruit from the tree or vine is the best 🍊
No Chick-fil-A... NOOOOOOO!! That's a crime 🚔
When we travel, we look for diners and Mom and Pop type restaurants. When we're in Wewoka, OK we absolutely love Rudy's Steakhouse... awesome Ribeye and Prime Rib and for Mark, there are chicken and fish options since he can't eat mammals. They also have yummy cheese curds. When we're in my hometown in Covington, Georgia we make sure to stop at: Stalvey's, Tava's, Amici Pizza and Scoops (ice cream, chocolates and candy). I had a prickly pear smoothie once with strawberries and bananas... it was yummy 😋
The "Boy Who Lived" and his Auror enjoying a soft serve... too cute 🍦
Never been to IKEA, but would love to go. Nearest is 2.5 hours away in North Carolina. Although Bry lives in NC, his nearest (the same one) is 3.5 hours away. Home Goods is closer, in Virginia, at 1.5 hours away. Love the white pottery 🍝
Again, so glad y'all had a great trip... and to see Miss Luna happy to see you. Have a great weekend. Stay safe. Stay warm. Stay happy. Yah's Blessings ❤️
What an enjoyable getaway!! I used to live about 30 minutes from IKEA and now I am 4 hours away and I miss it so much!! I could spend hours just browsing through that store and then treat myself to the delicious food served in the restaurant.😊 I am a cold weather person and I'm right there with Elliott-80 degrees is too hot!!🔥
Thanks for taking us along Lauren!
Good Morning Lauren good to see you ❤
Love Joe's Real Barbecue! That salad is amazing. I live in AZ November through March, and it's the best decision ever! I highly recommend the snowbird life. 😎
Just love your videos 😍
One place I tried while traveling America was Cafe Rio in Salt Lake City, so wish we had it here in Australia
We ate there on this trip but I didn’t have my camera! I crave their salad all the time!!
Awesome so glad you all got to go to Arizona and enjoy the warm weather. The boys look like they were having so much fun with their cousins. You found some great deals and I always love shopping as well. Thanks for taking us along on your vacation.😊❤
Miss Ruby
Did you make a meal from Trader Joe's. I reccomend the orange chicken and the chicken fried rice. All frozen and great together.
What a shock to go from Arizona's 80 degrees to Alaska's 14 degrees, but I think I would truly enjoy it.
I live in the Southeast US and love the In-and-Out burgers on the west coast. Wish they had those on the east coast. IKEA is such a wonderful adventure as is visiting Costco in other locations. It was fun to check out the ones in California and Hawaii and compare to mine.
Those IKEA bags are great for doing grocery hauls. Hope you have some of those for bringing in your grocery hauls.
I'm from OH. Many years ago I went to Phoenix in March - even though I used sunblock, ended up with sun poisoning. Be careful
Love your trip videos, thank you for taking us along. Have a wonderful weekend.😊
Great video!❤
Glad you had a good trip with much family .. looked like everyone was having fun ! Thanks for bringing us along !
It's great that you get a chance to travel. Why can't you leave stuff there for the next time you visit? Enjoyed the video.❤
There is no place like home though!
Glad to see you and the two boys enjoying yourselves instead of bundling the cold. Thanks for sharing. Hafa adai and love from the island of Guam 🌴❤🌴
Such a fun vlog.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy Travels
Love your videos. Your very informative 👍🏻💓
New subsriber and viewer. I enjoyed your vlog thank you. I just visited fairbanjs few weeks ago to see northern. And guess what? Im also from arizona lol.
Nice Video
Looks beautiful there, where is this exactly, I am in Maine and was thinking Arizona vacation would be fun!
Raising cane's and in and out don't have them where I moved to.
I forgot to ask did you find those books at Costco and did I hear you right it's the Mayflower collections?
www.amazon.com/Mayfield-Family-4-book-series/dp/B07QN8KGMC
Thank you❤
Hey new to your channel want to explore Alaska do you do air bnb an is it any cheap places to live
❤
Hi! Where did you get that shirt you have on around 16 min?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Are you able to ship your extra purchases home instead of taking on they plane?
It would be EXTREMELY expensive to ship them!
How did you get to Alaska
okay I've tried chikfil 2x now n I don't get it .I much rather have canes n Sammie from Popeyes we now have a Popeye bout 20-25min from us in bullhead city az.
Have you ever thought to just leave a set of scooters at your parents instead of traveling with them ? Just wondering
I have thought of it but the scooters are each over $200 so it would be really expensive to buy duplicates and my parents don't have much room to store things. Alaska Airlines has been great about letting us bring them in a bike case.
In-N-Out hamburgers
When we go down South, we love the Waffle House
