    Can you do one on “anti bacterial” this label is almost everywhere on cleaning things now. But really how accurate is it?

      Anti bacterial sprays usually needs to be left for 10 minutes after spraying before wiping up, and it will be effective on 99.99% of bacterial growth.
      All soaps by nature are antibacterial, some hand soaps have started putting antibacterial on the label, and charging more even though they're all antibacterial.
      I personally scrub my countertops with dish soap and a an abrasive scrubber, it's a little more work up front but saves you plenty of time actually waiting for spray to work

    20:50 If you have sodium sensitivity, atherosclerosis, arteriosclerosis, hypertension, etc., you should take even less sodium (which comes from many things, not just salt and MSG) because salt enters the bloodstream and does damage to the endothelial cells lining the blood vessels, causing those and other ailments. Tip: If you want to have a nice flavor but with less sodium, try MSG; it has far less sodium in it. You can also use no salt alternatives, which typically have potassium, but you have to watch not to have too much of that, too. Finally, you can try no-salt spice blends but, unfortunately, some of them don't taste very good, so you're better off finding recipes for alternatives to them.

      Good advice overall. However, potassium chloride has a very different taste with a hint of bitterness, so it's difficult to get used to. As we all need more potassium, it's not likely anyone would get too much.

      @@paulmaxwell8851 I use potassium chloride and I don't even notice the bitterness unless I consume it alone (which I don't). While we DO need potassium, health experts recommend that we don't get too much as it can cause problems. Everything in moderation, remember?

    As a Polish, who watches the series because it's really good and interesting, I'm weirded out by Singaporean sausages. From my point of view all of those are lower quality. On our sausage labels there's always a percentage of lean meat that was used to make it compared to the sausage's weight. And only cheaper ones (that I wouldn't buy) would be below 100%. The normal ones are 110-130%. Above 150% are too dry for me. We achieve above 100% by processing like drying or smoking the whole sausage. And they are quite often made out of big pieces of meat mixed with minced one - for the texture. The amount of fat varies very much from type to type of sausage. And those "fresh" ones that are raw we call "white" - those contain pretty much just minced meat and spices. There are fans of it, but many (including myself) prefer something more... meaty :)
    Anyway, nice program.

      There are meatgeterians. In America burger with no veg. Pizza with pep and cheese. Carb loaded spaghetti and meatballs.
      Sure Americans arent healthiest with high obesity.
      But its not entirely impossible to survive with high protein diet.
      But yes sausages arent bad unless you only eat sausages which is not good due to preservatives and fat contents.

    There'a something that is not mentioned in here and that is what kind of "meat' is added on anything that involves ground meat.
    For all we consumers know, it could be anything that is barely red since most meat suppose to be red, unless is fish or poultry.
    Salami,sausages(even the delicious Polish ones) contain ground nostrils,asses,ears and any other part of any animal you wouldn't buy on its own.
    Now there's is something else that we consumers buy as beef, since beef is considered the "more red meat" we can recognize. And that is, ladies and gents: ground worms.
    Now take a second or two about this source of protein.
    It is a good source of the previously mentioned, but it is not beef and is a big part of all the stuff we buy as beef in a ground shape,any of it.
    It is safe, as safe as it could be, since many farmers in USA and Canada are raising them on a regular basis,following very strict guidance from our beloved and trusted authorities.
    In the event you have any doubts about this , just ask the Greeks, the Chinese and today : anybody from South East Asia who comes to this land of opportunities to pick this creatures by the tone every spring and summer.
    We are talking about many tones of these things living under ground, which in turn are very safe and healthy, but on the other hand, are not beef, as we always see on the hot dogs packages in the supermarket: "Hundred per cent beef".
    Don't take me wrong, ground worms (normally used as fish bait) are very safe to be consumed by humans, but they are not beef as producers want us to believe.
    They are cheaper, way cheaper than beef, and that's why they are added to our diet.
    This stuff even have a name : "Food stuff", and it is completely legal to be included in our ground meaty products simply because the health authorities allow them to do so,anywhere in the world as far as I can say.
    So, do not be disgusted when you learn that some Latin American people eat deep fried insects. They are a cheap way to consume protein. The only difference is that these people truly know what they are eating and they don't pay a lot of money for it.

    i have a friend before that makes sausages and hams, she makes lots of different foods for sideline. SHe sells it for income. She even bakes. One time I said I will buy one ham, she said later I will make some for you. I said why later why not give me that? She whispered to me this are not good meat. This is cheap meats so don't buy this. She buys the cheap meats that are from cheap farms. The small farmers have cheaper but dirtier pigs. Those pigs eats garbages and so many nasty things. SO she told me to wait coz she'd buy premium meat to make for me. That's why we shouldn't keep buying, we should make and cook our own. Because most of the time the ingredients they use are not good since they need to profit from it. My dad cooks so good, it's so yummy because it is all good quality ingredients and no additional things for profitting. If it is for sale it has different ingredients and it is usually not 100% clean. I think pork sausage is better than chicken sausage. The chicken texture is like hotdog. You forgot that it isn't just worrying about how much meat content, it's what kind of meat content lols. They remove bad parts of meat, the fats that hang loose, the nasty looking parts, the cyst that they need to chop off, the meats that turning dark already needs to be grinded, it all goes to sausages. Some meat that is old needs to be cured into sweet hams and sweet meats whatever even dumplings and spring rolls, meat buns whatever they can do with it. The dog food I buy for a cheap price online, they also buy it and turn it into burger patties, that is why the dog food is more expensive because the people doing business is also taking it for their processing, I have to pay higher now to buy the dog food meats. ONline sellers and online people are taking it for human consumption. In meat company's there's also buyers that collects the throw away for their canteen cooking.

    an animal carcass goes in the meat processing plant. the leftover unknown parts and bones will become hot dogs. nothing is going to waste.

      No it doesn't a few bone shards may find themselves into a sausage, but they definitely do not grind bones into hot dogs.
      Bones are used for stock, gelatin, and other things.

      There are other very good video's out there that focus solely on nitrites and nitrates and how the food industry fight to keep it in the foods even though there is a log of science about its issues. It all comes down to money and strong lobbies.

    Very cheap sausages are made up of all the left over parts, in America. The exception to this is Turkey sausage. It's very distinct in flavor and texture, plus not super cheap. I do not eat sausage and have not for many years. I already have colon problems. Was told it'd be smart to stay away.

    Informative to a limited extent. I dislike "conventional professional" opinion. It can't be validated in my personal life. It should be known that skin has nutrients not present in meat and fat, like hyaluronic acid (Google HA in the third millennium).

      processed doesn't necessarily mean carcinogenic, it is the chemicals used in the process that is the issue, primarily sodium nitrite, so ham, luncheon, sausages all cause cancer

    I watched a documentary on the BBC years ago and the sausages had no where near the amount of meat. there are laws that govern the amount of meat you have to put in but a percentage of this meat can be in the form of gristle obviously the laws change from country to country. The sausages in this program seemed to be very good but that does not mean all sausages are I bet there are some that use reclaimed meat.     nitrites/nitrates are not necessarily bad for you. studies have also shown they can provide benefits in particular to heart health. the amount used in processed meats is less of a concern than the different things and processes used to replace nitrites in the first place. Trying to flavor it and preserve it using other means is argubly a worse off trade. Also, your own body production of nitrites far outweighs any nitrite that you can consume. Also shown that generally eating less nitrites means your saliva will contain more nitrites as the body tries to compensate since nitrites have their benefits.

      They mention the reaction of nitrites with amino acids, subsequent treatment of heat and stomach acid leads to a compounding effect on the amount of carcinogens - are these carcinogens not necessarily bad for us?

If u subscribe to their published list then almost anything is carcinogenic, and foods like Brussel sprouts spinach potato are more carcinogenic than nitrite bacon or sausage. I personally don't subscribe to that esp considering that our own body produces most of the nitrites ourselves and significantly so

      There is clear, unambiguous evidence that added nitrates and nitrites react with the heme proteins in red meat. This results in the production of nitrosamines, which are definitely carcinogenic. Of this there is no question. Processed meats are going to raise your risk of cancer; modest amounts of fresh red meat do not.

    Yucks. As if nitrate is not bad enough, cheap sausages hv so much filler = soy protein which is also v harmful. 以后都不吃了。

    Singapore don’t have sausages they have wieners where as Europe has actual sausages also in our butchers you can ask for the fat to meat ratio
