- Today on what it's like 1925 franklin model 10 C 1925 was a design transition year for franklin where they offered the model 10 c which was essentially a carry over design as well as offered the new model 11 A 1925 was also the last year for the Demi sedan
Enjoy this episode =)
Cowsills, The Rain, The Park, and Other Things?
Yeah buddy congratulations you got it =)
Awesome !
I love the instrument panel on this car, very clean, easy to read, different as in shape and very compact.
Fantastic Franklin 👏👏👏
Jordan would be a close 2 nd
Enjoy your adventures
Happy Motoring ✌️🤠
Good followup to the Franklin engine episode. That side vent is ahead of its time, and tilt hood big trucks didn't have them until the 60's. Gorgeous car. First pick 1925 Jordan great line 8 phaeton, second 1925 Apperson 6.
Good vibrations Beach boys.
Great guess on the song but not that song or band I almost put these two episodes together, but figured I'd slide something else in between
Jay the human crane and dolly ... very smooth slow mo bro.
I can't take credit for that I'm not steady lol the dJI pocket 3 is one hell of a mini camera way better than a go pro but I will say it's not water proof like a go pro
All of Them !!!
Lots of interesting choices in the WYR today. I like the variety of hood/grill treatments in the Franklin. I can't see the shovel-nose front end without recalling the statue in the first "Cars" movie. Theatsong is a real earworm for me; hope I'm not stuck humming this all week!
Thanks for a good look at an interesting car Jay. It was interesting to see that the grille mesh looks very like a honeycomb radiator. They must have felt the pressure even then to look like everyone else. One thing that escaped your attention is that most Franklins, including the feature car, used a wooden chassis (frame). Cheers.
Awesome thank you so much for sharing that information about the frame
That car is so clean must be trailer queen
I'm friends with the owner he drives it =) does tours
Another great episode of a nice car. I'm always drawn air cooled engine passenger cars (other than Volkswagen Beetles). I really like that 1906-1910 barrel design. I'd choose the 1925 Cole Demi Sedan in the first and the 1925 Franklin in the second.
Sweet choices going to cover all franklins eventually =)
Hi Jay! That is a VERY clean Franklin! Those were all such interesting cars! The removable window sedan was a pretty darn good idea for the time! At least if it started raining you would have the top to protect you! WYR One. . .going to be a homer here and pick the car from Indiana the Cole V-8. Two. . .Doing the same thing! That Apperson 6 is COOL!
Hahaha nice great choices
For WYR, I’ll take the Franklin for both scenarios. Mostly for its unique styling.
First, I loved that you started with the first US national spelling bee! Another excellent example for you to film and your loyal viewers to enjoy. The color of this car is very unusual for the day (and today, for that matter) -- do you happen to know if it was an original Franklin color of the day?
I love doing history in the intros useless trivia but cool to see when things happened happy you dig that as well
WYR: Franklin and Franklin. Of note - the fake radiator added to the later Franklins was done to make them look like other cars. They weren't selling as well because of the styling. Song (I Love) The Flower Girl, The Cowsills.
Sweet choices 61rampy65 got the song the rain the park and other things ( weird title I know )
25 Franklin
25 Apperson Jack Rabbit!
I want to cover an apperson so bad they are so rare and information doesn't exist and will be a challenge
Looks like you got your money's worth from your trip to Greenfield Village! Only issue I have is that 31 HP rating...from 236 cubic inches? The 28 Model A had 40 hp from 200". After looking at that intake manifold set-up, I think the breathing might be a bit stifled. WYR= I'd take any, but the Franklin has *air cooling!* NTT is on another post. Very enjoyable video, Jay!
To be 100% honest I didn't film as many cars as I wanted to. I'm gonna try to make up for it at Hershey...
The rounded body work really seems ahead of it's time. Probably too ahead since they switched to more common body styling.
It seems like the other car companies did that to complete with regular cars look at how the steam car evolved
h.h.franklin is one of the most unsung heros of automobiles. the largest user of aluminum at the time, his cars were in every way comparable to packard. look at that intake manifold, the mixture can go either way. those rocker boxes, what engineering. the first six in this country was franklin. however there are concerns too. one third of the power was used for cooling. the frame on the car you feature is laminated wood. be cautious of this. at the end h.h. switched to pressed steel. the styling may not meet with approval of everyone.. i like it, but then, there is no car that i respect more than franklin. that you for show casing this one, the company lasted until the 1970's. tucker used a modified franklin engine. best wishes
Thank you so much for sharing that information and insight
I was wondering if my car would appear in this video. Mine is the one with the "goofy side curtains." Also, Holmes did NOT use Franklin engines. They designed their own air cooled six. Nice video.
Awesome I should have worded that better Arthur Holmes was Vice president of franklin and went to start Holmes they built their own engine but look just like the franklin design
I totally forgot about the driving footage I just uploaded in another post maybe you can see your car
Did you have fun at greenfield
@@What.its.like. I haven't been to Greenfield. The photo you used of my 1925 Touring was taken in my driveway.
I was hoping you would show the tops of the doors / how the window panels work.
WYR: All of them.
Awesome =)
Not a fan of the grille shape, but the mascot is wonderful. Otherwise a nice car with style- love the tuck-and-roll seat upholstery. WYR Its a phaeton so the Jordan wins by default. And then the Apperson.
Sweet choices
2:01 The guy with his name on the sign would be ticked that you called him “Hubert” instead of “Herbert”. 😂
I said it wrong the first time and right the second time it was to hard to fix it without it sounding choppy
@@What.its.like. Sounds like a proverb: “It’s better to be wrong than choppy.” 😂
11:45 I'm guessing those are "push rod tubes" on this side of the engine.
Cole - Franklin
Franklin for both
Sweet choices
I can’t pick a favorite car out these choices, I know nothing of any of them. Good coverage though.
The crazy thing is is all of those cars were featured at one point except the apperson I wanna cover one so bad but information doesn't exist. It would be a challenge.

Beach boys... Good vibration.
Great guess not that song or band
1925 Jordon
Cover the High Wheelers @ Hershey!! 🛞
I will try I'd like to cover some more 50s cars especially Nash
is the song one is the loneliest number by three dog night?
Great guess not that song or band
Was a Franklin ever used in the Beverly hillbillies??🇦🇺🤙
Not sure to be 100% honest I've never saw that
1925 Aperson
That is the only color of the bunch. I haven't done a video yet. I just found out about it earlier on this year. They are one of the first companies to offer a V8 back in 1914 a V8 back in 1914. But there isn't any information about it seems like a very elusive they were expensive later on it think they got absorbed into Haynes
So happy together?
Great guess not that song or band
Three Dog Night --One ?
Great guess not that song or band
25 cole 25 apperson
Sweet choices
Where did my comments go?
WYR1: _"SOMEWHERE WEST OF LARAMIE..."_ I'd take the Jordan.
WYR2: Apperson. I'm just not a fan of the air-cooled concept.
Idk RUclips has been weird with comments most aren't even offensive.. I personally hate censorship, so just know that I don't believe any comment even the comments I don't agree with I keep..
Great choices
Franklin
Sweet choice
Absolutely beautiful Franklin 😍😍😍😍😍 Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you so much for watching happy you dig franklins the episode was cool too =)
Being air cooled, did the air cooled cars require more oil, than water cooled engine?
Not sure
Vw aircooled doesn't use more oil
