I am from the island of Dominica🇩🇲 Daniel Langlois was a gem. He played a major role in employing the people of Soufrière and Scott’s Head. He and his partner were well loved by the people because they were just generally great people. It is so unfortunate and heartbreaking to experience the loss of this man and his partner. May the murderers experience hell on Earth and then may it continue for them in the afterlife.

I am sorry for your loss. And many, many here are deeply saddened. As is the spirit of the people of Nature Island, the death of Daniel Langlois and Dominique Marchand felt shocking - as crime is rare - and profoundly sad. Their good works and philanthropy were greatly valued; and many people loved them. The good people mounted a tremendous and moving send-off ceremony for Daniel Langlois and Dominique Marchand. It seems that these tropical paradises attract some of the worst, shadiest characters in the world. The city vacated the alley next to my Dad’s house. So it was split down the middle. The other neighbor told my dad that if he poured the concrete for a driveway, he would pay my Dad for it. When the work was done and paid for, Don wouldn’t pay Daddy. He did however use the driveway for his car. My Dad didn’t have a rotten bone in his body. It could have caused a huge problem, but it didn’t. My Dad just never got upset about things. And he was Italian! I wish he would have learned something from that experience. People took advantage of him. I miss my sweet Dad a lot. P.S. I love your shirt, Dr.Grande, not to mention your RUclips videos. ❤❤

We had an alley vacated along a rear property line in my neighborhood. I found out about it one day when I heard arguing from three houses away. Came to find out one property owner put up a fence claiming the whole width of the alley to himself. I guess it was more important to grab a few extra feet of real estate rather than being content with half of the alley and living next to someone in peace.

A neighbor who happened to be an attorney pulled me to the side and explained how he’s seen these types of situations go sideways. I calmed down, he eventually left. 🇩🇲🇩🇲 It was truly tragic and senseless what happened to Daniel and Dominique.
Dr Grande, thanks for your great deadpan humour. Your "plagued by a corrupt government" took me out!

So . . . multimillionaires engaged in a Iife or death struggle over 2 strips of gravel on some obscure island? That's the bottom line here?

Why do people always flip out over public roads and rights of way!
If you buy land, FIRST check if there are any rights of way on it.
And if you have one, and cannot change it, be gracious, and generous about it!
Strictli speaking, you cannot ownland anyway. Only the right to call it your own (and pay taxes) for life! 😂

Talking about corruption: $1 million to "rebuild" a school? I bet that $50,000 was used to actually rebuild the school and the rest went to the Secretary of Education... among others.

Whether the country is corrupt or not what does that have to do with anything? You’re making it seem it’s the country/government fault.
If you resided in Dominica particularly in the communities in soufriere/scottshead you would know for a fact that these people had an ongoing dispute about the use of that road for years and I think the judge decision to rule the road as public property was the best choice…Daniel and his companion was loved through and though in Dominica for all their hard work and efforts in the country and their death was a huge blow to the people of Dominica, their staff and the community of soufriere. Jonathan did this out of pure jealousy because he was upset at the fact that Daniel went on to build and operate a world class eco resort that was actually doing very well.
I hope all parties involved are found guilty. Justice for Daniel and Dominique
