Thanks for the firmware update. After a few try's,I finally got it working. No Podger beeps with this one.Wished it was water resistant,as it would be great outdoors in the weather. It is a great radio.Mine came with 2 batteries.
Another informative video. I went with a Retevis RA 98 for my new HT. CCRs are CCRs, hopefully it will be my last HT for while. I have XYL QRM... 73, KF0NNQ.
Th “sync” menu item, when turned off, eliminates the “B” VFO/memory display. It causes the currently active channel to display both the name and frequency at the same time.
I'm so glad to see someone finally using the Tidradio CPS because no one seems to know about the PTT-ID that only works through the factory CPS. I added an ID to the "PTT ID Starting" and "Ending" in the CPS and it does work, but there is a 2 second delay before sending which also mutes the mic in the process. I can't find a way to adjust the delay. I removed the Self ID but that didn't fix it either. I'm using firmware version 240416. Do you know how to fix the delay issue? Also, I saw that you added numbers to the "Call Code" section. What exactly does that do?
Thanks for the video. When I install the software I don't get the version including 220 MHZ. How do I change that? When using with Chirp I can operate on that band. I have the radio set to "normal" but the software from TIDradio doesn't do it.
I just saw a video on this radio, yesterday. It seems full featured. I was wondering if Chirp made a programming Program, but it seems Tid-radio does too.
I watched your video for firmware upgrading of the H8.. Since the H3 has a USB-C port, can the firmware upgrade be performed over IT or is the K-type FTDI cable required for this? When I connect my H3 to my PC - I DO get a USB-SERIAL CH340 com-port so I hope it'll work (albeit, haven't been able yet 😒)
I think my H3 is defective. I can transmit on 2m/70cm simplex, I can receive from repeaters, but I can't trip repeaters. I have 3 other HTs and they all hit repeaters fine with the same settings. I contacted support, and I'm still waiting. I've read similar reports from a couple H3 users on reddit.
@theroguetomato5362 im watching videos thinking the same thing right now. Monday I'm going to tower chase and make sure I'm looking at the tower, carrying 2 radios with me and see if I can get into a repeater then. Right now I've made countless calls on the H3 and have not heard anything back. Scanning for hours, all I can pick up is NOAA.
I wasn’t aware that there are “programming” vs. “charging-only” USB-C cables. Can we not just get along? There are no marking nor any outward way to tell one from the other. This is another curveball I didn’t need!
This radio can be programmed with ANY usbC cable,.. data cable not required because the chip with the firmware on a data cable is in the radio already thanks to the wonderful team at TidRadio! 🙂
Unless they're really old cables, there's no difference other than amperage. The battery pack on the TD-H3 is self contained with charger inside as well as BMS inside so no charging (or powering apparently) through the radio, just like most all pro radios. This makes a lot of sense thinking about the future: you can switch to sodium ion, NiMH, etc without the radio even noticing! The other radio companies should be paying attention!

Tulsa here jusst got my first radio. Thanks for the video
Rock on!

Thank You!! 73 DE KD5FMU
Sounds great. Thank you for the updated information on this HT. Hope to see you in Huntsville!
Can't wait!
I like the yellow case version. So I can find it in the yard / woods. And someone (on Amazon) makes a yellow speaker-mic too!
That’s Great thinking! Bright colors = easier to see in the dark! Awesomeness!
@@HamRadioCrusader My Daughter's man friend is a local fireman, and their new digital radios are the day glow yellow.
Maybe I will see you at the Huntsville Ala. Ham Fest? Thats a real good convention.
I am scheduled to be there. Let’s hope life doesn’t get in the way.

I sure like mine I got my GMRS node 1590 built and up and running but I’m waiting on GMRS live to allow the new port settings
What number is your GMRS node? I hope I can get mine to receive inbound connection soon.

Thank you to where to get the software for the radio. I tried CHIRP, not good..

You can program it with Chirp Next.

I have not been able to get the firmware upgrade to work with the USB-C cable. I had to use the K Type programming cable.

Sounds a bad production run. SHEESH!!
@@HamRadioCrusader Maybe. Support sent me a new one and it works fine.

the usb cable is able to works to charger and to conect to pc?? if yes is a good feature
Yes. Plug it in the bottom, it charges the battery. Plug it in the side under the “K” connector and you can program it with CIRP.
@@johnmichalek9802 thanks i folow your chanel
The USB-C port for data will not charge the battery. The USB-C port on the bottom of the battery will charge the battery.
has dual receive at the same time??
Nope still just single receive but it has dual watch.
only see TIDRADIO TD-H8 software on your site?
It's there close to the bottom on the Software Downloads page.

With all the programming options and portability it would be great if programming software was available for IPAD.

Some of them will say sync cable or data cable plus charging or whatever, etc.
A sync cable is a data cable

Hi!
It's asking for a password, is that normal? Thank you
No it’s not
The programming software or the radio is asking for the password?
Good question! What could it be? I don't have a password...
@therealborgx are you referring to the website link?
