Nice to see some MA3 content! With such similar flights, maybe some insight on how the bead affects the hand feel or release compared to the Destroyer could help someone who's trying to decide which way to go.
@@jamesfarabaugh6669 I'm glad you enjoy the content! Honestly, I couldn't feel too much of a difference between the two. If I wanted to be critical, I would say the Racer's rim is a tad smaller than the Destroyer. Also, the base of my pointer finger may feel the underside of the Racer (due to the outer bead) slightly more than the Destroyer. Hope that helps.
I'm curious to see how the wing bead is going to feel with forehands. Looks like it will be a nice flip up disc with power flicks, so I grabbed that light blue one off your shop. Always good to find a new shop!
@@stevecinnibarhoffman That's cool. Where's your disc golf club? Also, I have no idea how the bead impacts the flight of the disc, but you are right in the fact that it is a great disc.
@@TheDiscZone LIDG, Long Island Disc Golf in NY. We think it adds weight to the outer edge and has a similar gyroscopic effect that the heavier plastic overmolds of the MVP line. We were wondering if adding a similar bead to overmolds would make them even MORE effective at retaining RPM.
@@stevecinnibarhoffman Actually that is a pretty good assumption. It might also add a little bit of undestability as well. Hopefully some other companies start experimenting with a bead on the outer rim. Also, if you are ever in Santa Cruz, CA make sure to stop by
I have a first run Racer, 173g, in the metal flake champion plastic. It's unreliable in the wind. The bead also wears a lot quicker than your standard disc. I love my Racer, but I've never found myself reaching for it over my Destroyers. It's basically only ever been thrown as player B.
@@Gynan Very interesting. I have heard that metal flake champion plastic is flippier and beats in quicker than other plastic. Also, how far do you throw?
@@TheDiscZone I get my Destroyers, reliably, to around 450ft. I got the Racer close to 500, but it wasn't close to being controlled. I have a 167g beat-in star Destroyer that's a lot more manageable than my Racer. I do plan on getting it in star plastic at some point in the future though to compare.
Ah that makes sense. I throw straight Destroyers comfortably around 420. So I think your extra 30-50 feet of power is probably making the Racer flip a lot more comparitive to me. I hope that the Star Racer flies more stable when you try it out!

MA3 content? Not quite sure what you mean by that. This dude is either MA1 or MPO.
@@davidlammon4989 he had his MA3 buddy throw it too.
@@davidlammon4989My buddy at the end of the video plays MA3 and is 812 rated.
A normal teebird has this bead on the outer rim also.
Woah, no way. I can't believe I didn't notice this. I'm gonna have to take a look at one when I get to the shop today.
Love your content man!
@@Padillavic I appreciate the support. Let's get a round in sometime soon!

Thanks Alex, I appreciate it! When I threw it, I didn't really notice the bead too much. Let me know how it feels and flies!
Thanks!
I dyed a half dozen of these for the local club, and we were all discussing the bead and whether it was the reason it flew so darn well.

Looks like you're new to this area. A microphone will improve your video quality and help branch out. Best wishes.
