I love all of the pieces you chose Carolyn, so dainty and pretty. I think it's so cool when you have modern sites that sell pieces of clothing from different eras. really is special! 🥰 Also, it's a phenomenal idea to incoporate a little bit of lifestyle into your videos it's more fun and personal AND LOL you get to have more content! (of course your gorgeous Russian and other book content is so warm and cozy as well). I'm sure some subbies would love a hair care routine so we could know how you achieve your gorgeous curls! stay warm Caro! 😊

I really enjoyed the mix of booktube content with fashion content and other creative project of yours. You talk about it with so much passion and glitter in your eyes that it is very pleasurable to watch and listen to. And it happened to boost my creativity, which had been a bit on a low level lately, so thank you so much ❤️

Let me put it this way, Nagib Mahfouz in the Arab world is what Marquez is to Latin America, and what Tolstoy is to Russia! And that trilogy u got is his most remarkable work! Its what got him the Nobel prize

I read In Search of Lost Time and finished it last year. It took me a while to read it all, but it is so worth it. It's a long journey but it is so worth it and, if you like fashion, Proust writes astonishingly well about fashion. My one piece of advice is to take as long as you like to read it. If you read five pages a day then that's what you read. I made the mistake of trying to read it to a deadline and it just made it seem like a duty not a pleasure. I still haven't written up all my notes. But it's a beautiful book. Loved the video btw.

How have I never heard of Swan’s Way? I’ve heard Proust’s name thrown around in High School and College like some pinnacle you can never reach, but I’ve never actually read/heard any of his words. That was gorgeous! I think I have to read it now!
The bunny picture looks just like my rabbit. My heart 🥺
Edit: Home reno videos are the key to my heart (I watched most of Fixer Upper before it left Hulu 😂)

I love this video! It 's definitly one of the best that I've seen so far! I mean, seriously! Could you be any cuter or more adorable than you are in those retro-inspired clothes? And then there's your infectious excitment as you opened the boxes that you were sent. I found myself feeling every bit as happy as you were, each time you took one of your gifts out of its box, and then showed it to us. I was disappointed, though, when you said that you had felt that you weren't smart enough or intelligent enoiugh to read "In Search of Lost Time." In the videos where you've shown us diffirent pieces of your art, and told us the ideas that you wanted them to convay, and then explained how you came up with the best way to do that... well, that's not only proof that you are, indeed, smart enough and intelligent enough to read anything you want, but it also shows that you're incredibly and absolutely brilliant! Now, as for doing videos that would be about fashion, style, decorating, etc., I vote absolutely!

    Hi Carolyn!
I've been following your channel for sometime now and I absolutely love your videos and extra love to videos in which Willow makes an appearance.
You mentioned in this video that you'd like to learn more about the Italian art and culture. So I thought I would mention this series called Medici I watched on Netflix. It's a well made series that focuses on how the Medici family worked to encourage Art and Artists.
If you do decide to watch it I hope you like it🤗
Lots of love and support from a fellow bookworm!

OMG OK so first things first!! I’m sure many, including myself, can agree that we are here for YOU and not your books. I love your ideas on books and please yes, if you’d like, continue, but it would be so lovely to get to know other sides and share those passions!! You are inspiring so that would be so great!! ALSO ALSO, PLEASE DROP THAT SKINCARE!!! I love learning of others skin care routines and I’ve been SO CURIOUS about yours!! Sending love to you!

    Hi Carolyn!
Just wanted to share a story I think you might enjoy - I've always loved Beatrix Potter also and was obsessed when I was a kid. My mum entered a competition to go and visit her house plus the Beatrix Potter museum - the question for the competition was what did I want to be when I grew up, and as at the time I wanted to be a rabbit when I grew up (like Peter Rabbit) that is what she put, and I won! The child who came second wanted to be a lawyer.
Have you seen any of the early 90s Beatrix Potter videos where they animate her stories? I feel like you would love them! They always start off in Beatrix Potters actual house - some of them are available on RUclips.
Looking forward to more of upur videos :)

OMG i never would have thought that someone outside of Poland would show/ consider reading The Doll by Prus! It is my favourite novel of all time! It is a panoramic novel that shows how polish society looked like at the end of a century and showed what we as a society have to do to unite people after Partitions of Poland. I cannot recommened it enough!

Where do I start? I am outside the U.S. Because the mail service here does not match what it is in the U.S. I sent the email that I composed for you to my friend (Joe) in the U.S. and asked him to mail it to you. My email address is (mildly?) provocative (xyz.......). I hope that you did not take umbrage with the address or the content. At the risk of feeding my ego, I am answering your query: I am the person that sent to you the three books by Junichiro Tanizaki (I was happy watching you try pronouncing his name this time). I also sent the following books to you: Song Without Words, The Doll, The Cairo Trilogy, The Reed Cutter and Captain Shigemoto's Mother, Passing, and The Blacker the Berry. Naguib Mahfouz: nuh GEEB maa FOOZ. For the Arab speakers, my apologies if the breakdown is inaccurate. Another Polish novel should be in your PO
Box at this moment. Sorry, that was my ego again.

Carolyn, do you plan to read Brazilian literature any time soon? I think you might love Machado de Assis! He's regarded as our greatest author, comparable to Tolstoy in Russia and Dickens in England. I know Penguin recently published a translation of Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas, arguably Machado's best novel. You should check it out!

I love The Decameron, it is such a fascinating book, and such a light and funny one too. It was written during a pandemic so reading it after living one, will add a lot to your experience. And if you pay attention to the details there is so much you can learn like, some stories mention the first sleep and by checking that I learned people slept in two turns during middle age. Also, the hours were counted in a different way. It is such a good read! I hope you like it!
