Fascinating video. I owned a 1962 example (GZD424) for years as a student. My father was a mechanic and he showed me how to replace the kickstart shaft (a weakness in the C100 cured in the C50) and how to rebuild it after a big end/conrod replacement. I always had a spare engine ready to go in as once replaced the big end did not last!! Your video brought me right back to those days. I remember replacing a fork and placing those 2 sets of 21 ball bearings. No RUclips to help in those days My father got a flywheel puller made in his job (Dublin Gas Co) and we bought the castleated spanner to remove the clutch assembly
I sold mine still in perfect condition in 1971 and the new owner made bits of it😒

Yes these items can bring back great memories. Shame they made mush of the bike.
Well I'm not a mechanic and I could find no video that didn't have a load of waffle attached to it, that one could watch without being bored of the person on the video. So many people want to be famous.

In our country, the export of Euro 5 has passed, but the C100 will not pass, so I am going to do a big project with the super cube from Old Cube (e.g., c100, c102, etc.). I want to hear your thought. Hello, I live in Korea, which is very close to Honda's country, Japan.
I have a question because I am curious about your video.
I also want to Restore Honda Old Style's Cub (C-100)
I hope to restore it, but there's a problem.
The speedometer, brake lever, and Color's steeringwheel ..
    I couldn't get the parts.
Where did you buy the genuine parts?
Is it buyed to Ebay? Or Honda website?? Or Amazon? Or used motocycle? (C-100)

    • @tomcahill8506
      @tomcahill8506  3 года назад

Hi, You can buy aftermarket and original parts from www.cmsnl.com or david silverspares.co.uk. You can get original second hand parts for sale on www.ebay.co.uk. When on ebay make sure to click the worldwide option and this will give more parts in different countries. There are suppliers advertising on ebay from Thailand & Vietnam who sell replica parts. Sometimes it is better to buy a donor bike for your parts and sell the remaining parts when you finish the restoration. If you have a japanese friend they might know of some way of getting the original parts in Japan. Good luck with your restoration. Greetings from Ireland.

      Nice to meet you.
I was desperate because I thought it was not easy to restore the original due to my lack of English skills.
But my poor English skills and inaccurate translation program...
I was very moved by your detailed answer.
I also knew that Honda Cub Motorcycle was sold a lot in Thailand and Vietnam.ten thousand
      It wasn't easy at all.
Surprisingly, I was able to find a lot of European and American people on RUclips website who are restoring the Cub Motorcycle in Honda, Japan.
      It's very surprising.
Was Honda Cub Motorcycle sold a lot in the United States, Canada, and Europe?
The fact that related forums and related community websites exist in Europe and the United States
      I didn't know that!
      Thank you very much!
Honda's country is close to Japan, but I don't have a Japanese friend.
I'll have to search the Japanese website soon.

@@tomcahill8506 Wow! I get surprised really often today!
      Are you Korean?
Ssangyong Motor is a jeep and suv company that is not well known in Korea.
It's a company with a long history in Korea.
But so far, it has produced only Sport Utility vehicles rather than Sedan cars.
I also currently own a 2,700cc diesel type Engine Rexton produced in 2009.
Honda was a more amazing and monstrous company? than I thought... Apart from Asians being discriminated against in Europe, the United States, and Canada, it was a very Western company, right?!!! It's interesting and fun!
Asian experiences racism, but Asian Honda exports a lot!!

It's so sad that the moment of goodbye is approaching.
It has been driving 402,500 kilometers so far.
Is it easy to get the Genuine parts of SSang Yong motors company in your country?
It's hard to get genuine parts in Korea.
I just found out that eBay can easily get genuine parts of the old motor cycle produced in the 60s.
But in Korea, it's hard to get SSangyong's genuine maintenance parts that were produced 10 years ago.
      But there's one hopeful news.
There's a new electric car maker who's drawing attention as Tesla in Korea.
