Everybody brings up “Man In Love” but “Switch” deserves a ton of respect for what he and PHanbin did vocally

gunwook is probably top 3 rappers of the show he was chosen as the best rapper out of 45 contestants in wild idol and was complimented by so many rappers, he’s THE main rapper no doubt
ima be so serious i dont think gunwooks weakness is vocal at all. hes actually quite high in the vocal tier list compared to everyone else in boys planet (hes literally top10 overall its crazy how good he is). that being said, hes just an all rounder and no weakness present honestly i like him better as a vocalist and dancer (like in jelly pop my guy SHINED)
u look like a gyuvin anti. hanbin deserved 4 but so did gyuvin like did u see his performance??? plus his confidence when he asked to show another dance as well
Not a gyuvin anti at all. Love him for his personality but I have to say his performance was a bit overrated on the show. This comment was specifically targeted towards how the masters did not have a consistent scoring system though
its so weird cos gyuvin didnt show off any vocal skills whereas hanbin showed both vocal+dance and his dance was for sure at the same level as gyuvin LMAO love both tho
Also they hinted that gyuvin got all stars because he was able to show his skill when he danced to reveal which is fair. But when hanbin showed his skill in the whaacking battle they didn’t consider it while scoring him?
I completely agree with everything but I think that a skill that Jiwoong has other than his visuals is his voice. LIKE HAVE YOU HEARD HIM IN HOT SUMMER!! Plus I have seen some of his predebut covers and he has an amazing and angelic voice. His dancing hasn't really stood out for me except for the dance break in love killa. (This is just my personal opinion)

Standout Performers: 3) Zhang Hao & Matthew - Not super versatile, but Hao is the best in the group at dark/sexy, Matthew at cute. I think gyuvin and yujin would be on par with taerae, Ricky and Jiwoong. They're good at something let's say yujin and gyuvin at dancing but they're not as skilled as others, they have unique vocals but lack still lacking compare to the others. for example like you say how taerae struggle at dancing, but he's a good vocalist. Personally, i like ricky's vocal but it's not main vocal worthy so i agree with the way you label him.
@@peachyjin9145 I totally buy that! Jiwoong, Gyuvin, Ricky, and Yujin are all really similar in that much of their appeal is visual and due to stage presence. Putting them as the same tier makes sense, even if my personal bias towards Jiwoong makes me want to put him in a higher tier. Taerae is sort of unique in that he's objectively main vocalist material. It gives him that "it" factor. When he sang in Hot Summer and Switch, he really stood out more than most of his group members for his singing and stage presence. I'd put him below Shanbin, Gunwook, Zang Hao, and Matthew, but in a higher tier than the four boys above as a performer overall.

7:01 I have to disagree with you on this. Everyone loves to reflect on his pr video and act like it’s his entire personality, which is not the case. It’s also not his entire concept either. I’d more specifically say his best concept is sexy. What he lacks is versatility. That being said I don’t think he’s completely unable to do refreshing and cute concepts given his naturally cute lovelicky personality but I’d like to see it for myself.
i personally think he can be very versatile if he has confidence in himself. kick it and back door were cool concepts, rush hour was charismatic and over me and hot summer were sexy concepts. he jokes about hating doing cute things but he did great when he took it seriously in the say my name cover. i agree that his best concept is sexy and over me was definitely where he shone the most, im actually taken aback that the video said hes a low tier performer because he drew my eye over everyone else in all 3 challenge stages.
@@ephemeral02 I always want to mention his say my name pj performance but I’ve since omitted it from my “defend Ricky comments”. His vocals skills weren't even fully showcased in the show but he seems like someone who keeps improving in every area of performance. Plus he has a distinctive dance style of his own. You can tell he's a self-taught dancer who later joined agency to get trained. I feel like he will have more chances in the future to show his vocals.
I’ve been thinking about this as well lately. I can totally see him as a solo act. He has the vocals, dance skills and charisma. People are naturally attracted to his charm and he could definitely make it work and be quite popular.
i feel like gyuvin is actually a strong performer in person considering he got higher on-site voting than gunwook (en garde) and jiwoong or matthew (love killa). some ppl say its visuals/popularity but that doesnt make sense if you really think about it cause the other members i mentioned are very popular in korea too and have popular visuals. i just cant see gyuvin getting the most votes twice in a row based on that alone if the others’ stage presence was way better. he also was a contender for the killing part in en garde so i feel like the other trainees mustve thought he was a good performer too.
I respect your opinion. I just wanted to add that Matthew and Gunwook were part of a group of trainees the knetz called "Landmines". These were trainees which were the most hated; knetz did not want them in their perfect lineup. Meanwhile, Gyuvin is part of F4. In a randomly picked out live audience, they would not win over Gyuvin. They debuted because of their strong one-pick.
@@novamoin246 ok but he still won over jiwoong in love killa when jiwoong had the killing part, was showing his abs, part of f4 and is popular in korea. he has pretty decent stage presence as well and gyuvin was still able to get more votes than him. i just have a hard time believing that gyuvins popularity could carry him to the win in that situation if he didnt have pretty good stage presence. hanbin was the most popular trainee in korea by a landslide and part of f4, and that wasnt enough for him to win over hao in tomboy or hui in love me right, AND hanbin is a good performer. i thought it was just popularity too at first but i started to think about who won the on-site voting each mission and who their teammates were and it simply doesnt make sense to me that he just has terrible stage presence but still was able to win cause knets like him. i feel like mnet did gyuvin a disservice with international fans by focusing so much on his visuals because then ppl think he must not be talented enough to talk about that. he is a strong dancer, good rapper, stable live, and has good stage presence. he wasnt even one of my top picks but its getting exhausting seeing ppl constantly undermine his talent or underestimate him.
@@vernonIover The first group mission happens before the first episode is aired. Therefore, the people do not form their favourites or opinions that strongly. So at that point, Hui was more popular than Hanbin. For example: In Produce 101 S2, Kwon Hyunbin, a well-known model at the time, (the weakest performer in his group) won against Kang Daniel, Ong Seungwoo, Minhyun and Kim Jaehwan in On-site votes in the first mission. Those 4 later joined Wanna One with Kang Daniel as the center while Hyunbin got eliminated. In the second mission for Love Killa, it should be noted that Jiwoong is a BL actor in a conservative country. He is also very old for an idol. Gyuvin is more likeable to Koreans than him. In Tomboy, Hao was underestimated. Most koreans would not have voted for Hao if they knew he would win against Hanbin. People were also worried about what happened to Xiaoting last season. I am not undermining Gyuvin's talent. Gyuvin is very lovable and hardworking who has many admirable traits. He choreographed Love Killa dance break and wrote rap for En Garde. The examples you gave were not appropriate unfortunately because it does not take into account the unfair situation of other members. The On-site voters are really not the best judge of talent. Soyeon from G-idle called it out in My Teenage Girl. There was also strategic voting by fans taking place after first mission.
I guess we're all gonna pretend Taerae wasn't good in Back Door Like hes not a great dancer sure but I didn't think he felt too out of place there? I love all of this though, even when you're pointing out flaws it still felt positive and you're totally right, with the weaker performers, this is our chance to watch them improve and grow!! I just know they'll be unstoppable
Definitely gonna disagree with Ricky as a low tier performer. People perform to be captivating. Many people are captivated by him on stage, even if his visuals and natural charisma play a huge role. He is at least a mid tier performer to me lol.
The problem with stage presence is it can be extremely subjective for example I find Jiwoong pretty boring (or annoying to watch in case of Back door - eating his shirt and therefore muffling his lines - or love killa - I can’t with his pronunciation) whilst others genuinely adore his stage presence whilst I really enjoy watching Taerae perform (due to how happy and excited he looks during most if not every performance) eventhough a lot of people find him boring I’d also put Ricky in mid, he was just somewhat unlucky due to him constantly performing with really talented performers whose existence is pretty distracting - respect to the people who can only look at Ricky through the entirety of over me ‘cause I can’t look at anyone except for Chen Kuanjui and Zhang Hao shortly before, during and shortly after the dance break (I may be a bit too fascinated by Kuanjuis dancing)
Ricky is talented but didn’t stood out to me in any of his performances. They were all like the same stage. He was like that actor who always looks the same despite playing different roles
I wholeheartedly agree with Taerae being a mid performer but somehow it feels illegal, idk why but it feels incredibly rude (maybe because he does have that charm of some lost old guy who just loves his guitar more than anything) But I’m so ready for Gunwook to decide to make him his gymbro because it’d be the cutest thing ever and he really does seem fragile Btw Haruto is trying to compete with this channel by trying to be the best boys planet related editor (how did WakeOne approve of that Instagram post to be on their official trainee account? They really should give them their own account)
I can't with what you put at Taerae. Sorry I laughed. Edit Ricky rapped on Kick It too. And Gyuvin rapped on En Garde. And they're potential Stan attractor too. Ricky knows how to make himself trending with the things he do and Gyuvin has a meme-able facial expressions and reactions. But overall great commentary and glad to see you're back. Edit 2.0 Someone please correct me if I'm wrong Kim Jiwoong actually debuted before and he's the main/lead rapper in his previous group based on what I heard.
Jiwoong debuted once and was in a pre-debut group, no glue about his positions thought; he also did some of the ost for his dramas (or at least for Poongduck or however you actually spell that) and they’re actually pretty good
i watched boys planet since the very first episode was released and tbh it was the only thing keeping me entertained throughout the week.. i feel like all 18 trainees deserved a spot in top 9 so i’m not really disappointed with the lineup . i didn’t really get the hype about ricky at first but now he’s my bias aside from han yujin and taerae (ok i love how you’re so honest lmao)
The way you roast them and be like 'stan to see them improve' is actually me promoting the group with basicaly none of my picks there lmao. And the way rap is jiwoong's weakness when he used to be a rapper in his old group 😭 1:07 love how wang zihao is the actual standard cuz facts only

@@tiredmarley i agree with the whole guide actually, since I watched the whole show it's a mix of knowing this is one of the best dynamics to come out while thinking the incredible combinations talent-wise that could be made lmao
Man.... seeing this video makes me miss Keita, Jay and Zi hao more 😭. This group could've been unstoppable but lets see how this line up does. Regardless, this show had the best selection of contestant that I've seen so far, all the performances are so memorable and good. I miss this show already 😂
Top18 debuting together would be so good (especially if they added some of the other eliminated trainees like the other WakeOne boys since they’ll probably stay trainees for quite a while) and there aren’t really that many things stopping them since Keitas group member might actually make it into the FB group and Hui has been in the industry for such a long time that Pentagon doesn’t need him 24/7 also they’re under cube, who to put it nicely, isn’t the greatest company of all time
omg i literally love this lineup sm 😭 id say a weakness i noticed in jiwoong is he sometimes gets suddenly loud if notes are higher or is doing hard moves. its understandable but it sometimes can be a slightly larger volume increase 😅
4:58 Something tells me you're wrong about the concept, this little piece of jesus it's going to burn our houses down with Sexy concept... I have this strong voice telling me "You'll pray and sing church songs sooner"
how r u gonna say ricky's best skill is vocal when u name jiwoongs best skill visual? ricky should be visual too then, esp if ur gonna say gunwooks biggest weakness is vocal, when gunwook>ricky vocals /nm also i really liked taerae in backdoor which wasnt a cute concept per say :)
I don’t know why they said that for Jiwoong either. But they also said the only concept Ricky is good at is being “young and rich tall and handsome”. I’d say both comments are an equal level of shallowness.
I’m not very educated on Jiwoong’s skills so I can’t compare or tell you who’s better but I will say op chose Ricky’s singing as his best skill for a reason (I’d say either that or stage presence). It is his strongest skill compared to dancing and rapping. Ricky even said so himself.
@@_harley_1288 to be the visual of a group you need to fit the korean beauty standard, keep your composure often and when it comes to schedules they get a lot of photoshoots, ads and commercials. Jiwoong has experience in that field and fits the korean beauty standard well, so he is the most fit to be the visual of zb1 (and would just be a great visual for any group). And I didn't say the only thing Ricky could do was his persona, that's just dumb, what I meant is he shines in concepts that are like playing that persona (such as: sexy, elegant, expensive, etc).
The way you see Ricky and the way I see him it's 💯 percent opposite ....I respect your opinion though....he is a good vocalist but not the best in the group....that guy has a stage presence .......I have more to say about him...just lazy to type ...I wish I could record🤣...ok but he also said he wants to work hard so he cld improve ....Nd he is thankful for star creators who understands his weakness...🌹 ... hopefully our boys will work hard and do their best
I think hanbin has made smart choices in bp, idk if it was in his strategy to not showcase much of his dancing skills because he knew that his old videos would blow up (he must be a genius if he thought abt it) so focusing on vocals he proved himself as a full package also notice that all of the concepts he tried are different so we could see that he can do anything possible In conclusion get your exclusive ticket to be a predebut fan of the next it boy !

The examples you gave were not appropriate unfortunately because it does not take into account the unfair situation of other members. The On-site voters are really not the best judge of talent. Soyeon from G-idle called it out in My Teenage Girl. There was also strategic voting by fans taking place after first mission.
I guess we're all gonna pretend Taerae wasn't good in Back Door
Like hes not a great dancer sure but I didn't think he felt too out of place there?
I love all of this though, even when you're pointing out flaws it still felt positive and you're totally right, with the weaker performers, this is our chance to watch them improve and grow!! I just know they'll be unstoppable
Our Zhanghao, shining perfection 😭
5:08 YASS GUNWOOK MY BABYGRILL
As someone who has thought that for a long time I’m very happy that people finally call him out for being the babygirl of the group
Definitely gonna disagree with Ricky as a low tier performer. People perform to be captivating. Many people are captivated by him on stage, even if his visuals and natural charisma play a huge role. He is at least a mid tier performer to me lol.
The problem with stage presence is it can be extremely subjective for example I find Jiwoong pretty boring (or annoying to watch in case of Back door - eating his shirt and therefore muffling his lines - or love killa - I can’t with his pronunciation) whilst others genuinely adore his stage presence whilst I really enjoy watching Taerae perform (due to how happy and excited he looks during most if not every performance) eventhough a lot of people find him boring
I’d also put Ricky in mid, he was just somewhat unlucky due to him constantly performing with really talented performers whose existence is pretty distracting - respect to the people who can only look at Ricky through the entirety of over me ‘cause I can’t look at anyone except for Chen Kuanjui and Zhang Hao shortly before, during and shortly after the dance break (I may be a bit too fascinated by Kuanjuis dancing)
Ricky is talented but didn’t stood out to me in any of his performances. They were all like the same stage.
He was like that actor who always looks the same despite playing different roles
I wholeheartedly agree with Taerae being a mid performer but somehow it feels illegal, idk why but it feels incredibly rude (maybe because he does have that charm of some lost old guy who just loves his guitar more than anything)
But I’m so ready for Gunwook to decide to make him his gymbro because it’d be the cutest thing ever and he really does seem fragile
Btw Haruto is trying to compete with this channel by trying to be the best boys planet related editor (how did WakeOne approve of that Instagram post to be on their official trainee account? They really should give them their own account)

I can't with what you put at Taerae. Sorry I laughed.
Edit Ricky rapped on Kick It too. And Gyuvin rapped on En Garde. And they're potential Stan attractor too. Ricky knows how to make himself trending with the things he do and Gyuvin has a meme-able facial expressions and reactions. But overall great commentary and glad to see you're back.
Edit 2.0
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong Kim Jiwoong actually debuted before and he's the main/lead rapper in his previous group based on what I heard.
Jiwoong debuted once and was in a pre-debut group, no glue about his positions thought; he also did some of the ost for his dramas (or at least for Poongduck or however you actually spell that) and they’re actually pretty good
Yes they all rapped at some point... Doesn't mean they're good at it
i watched boys planet since the very first episode was released and tbh it was the only thing keeping me entertained throughout the week.. i feel like all 18 trainees deserved a spot in top 9 so i’m not really disappointed with the lineup . i didn’t really get the hype about ricky at first but now he’s my bias aside from han yujin and taerae (ok i love how you’re so honest lmao)
0:20 yasss Gays Planet
Oh really
bro your honesty is killing me😭😭
We are called Zerose now
im so glad my husband taerae is gay omg
The way you roast them and be like 'stan to see them improve' is actually me promoting the group with basicaly none of my picks there lmao.
And the way rap is jiwoong's weakness when he used to be a rapper in his old group 😭
1:07 love how wang zihao is the actual standard cuz facts only
💀 it's an objective guide I'm not just gonna praise everyone and ignore the things they lack at, I love them for who they are including their shortcomings
Nice video! Ofc, we're expecting some videos from you even after boys planet.
Also, I love the "THE Wang Zihao". I miss him. Hope he debuts!
wdym taerae isn’t versatile with concepts😞 bro slayed so much with his forehead in backdoor
why is this video so accurate 🤣😂
Ricky needs more work in controlling his vocals just like jiwoong but I love both of their vocal colors.
CENTERZ BEING ALL ROUNDERS YES!
Thank you for this guide, which is fairly accurate (Haobin trash here 💘)... some parts of it are so mean that it's actually hilarious ROFLMAO😭😭😭💀
This guide was very helpful for me
4:58 Something tells me you're wrong about the concept, this little piece of jesus it's going to burn our houses down with Sexy concept... I have this strong voice telling me "You'll pray and sing church songs sooner"
No seriously are we gonna pretend hot summer taerae doesn't exist🫠

how r u gonna say ricky's best skill is vocal when u name jiwoongs best skill visual? ricky should be visual too then, esp if ur gonna say gunwooks biggest weakness is vocal, when gunwook>ricky vocals /nm
also i really liked taerae in backdoor which wasnt a cute concept per say :)
We all better protect our child Yujin
lmao i am 2 year older than him still i am calling him child😭 HELP!
Could you make a dance ranking of the members in the future as you're actually a dancer? I would love that!
you've just became my fav.
CONCLUSION: ZB1 DEBUT WITH CUTE CONCEPT!!
I still haven't got over KTL's Zhanghao
Whenever you say zb1, Marley spawns
The way you see Ricky and the way I see him it's 💯 percent opposite ....I respect your opinion though....he is a good vocalist but not the best in the group....that guy has a stage presence .......I have more to say about him...just lazy to type ...I wish I could record🤣...ok but he also said he wants to work hard so he cld improve ....Nd he is thankful for star creators who understands his weakness...🌹 ... hopefully our boys will work hard and do their best
I love how you're subjective and objective at the same time.
I think hanbin has made smart choices in bp, idk if it was in his strategy to not showcase much of his dancing skills because he knew that his old videos would blow up (he must be a genius if he thought abt it) so focusing on vocals he proved himself as a full package also notice that all of the concepts he tried are different so we could see that he can do anything possible
In conclusion get your exclusive ticket to be a predebut fan of the next it boy !

How are you gonna make a guide and talk sht about members u don’t like
Don’t worry this channel doesn’t just hate on people he doesn’t like, it’s mainly a weird sense of humour, also you can’t really take kpop group guides too seriously
How was anything in the video even remotely close to hate?
I recently found out that Ricky is very rich, what do you mean a person who claims to be rich is rich!? 😦
