@Devils Reject You're basing that faulty opinion on emotions, not facts. Go look up Georgia code 16-7-21. (I'd link it myself, but the comment keeps getting deleted.) You'll see that Arbery did not meet ANY of the elements of criminal trespass in GA. They even talked about it in the trial where the cops were GOING to give him a trespass warning. The very fact that they hadn't done that yet means he could not possibly have committed trespassing. There is even testimony of the police instructing the McMichaels to CALL police if they saw Arbery in the construction site again. NOT to chase him down with a firearm. I suggest research the facts of the case before spewing your opinion about it on the internet. You're just as bad as all the clowns saying Rittenhouse is guilty as sin. People need to slow down and think critically, it's becoming a lost art these days.
@Devils Reject Anybody's opinion on the matter is irrelevant, the law is all that matters. We're a nation of laws, follow them or go to jail, that's just how it works. I agree with you about looking out for your community, but you gotta do it within the bounds of the law. Piece of advice, don't pursue someone for *allegedly* trespassing on property that isn't even yours. If it escalates to a use of force situation, you will be the aggressor, you will be at fault & there will be consequences. Imagine some random person blocking your path and pointing a shotgun at you while you're out jogging with zero context as to why they are there. Arbery's response was perfectly reasonable. If he had a firearm himself I'd argue he'd be well within his rights to use lethal force himself. Since he didn't... Had to do what he could to attempt to defend himself in the moment.
@Devils Reject Are you really that dense man? Nobody overlooked the trespassing aspect. BY LAW HE WAS NOT TRESPASSING . You can disagree with it all you want, but that's a fact. He was not trespassing lol. Even if he was found to be trespassing, it's still VERY questionable as to whether or not the defendants could execute a citizens arrest given the circumstances. Look at GA code 17-4-60. The alleged offense of trespassing was not confirmed in their presence, nor is it a felony. I'm not a lawyer obv, so idk how that would be interpreted in court, but seems they wouldn't be able to affect a citizens arrest even if Arbery HAD been trespassing. I'm not one to race bait, but I would disagree with you about racial motivations in this case. Given the racial slurs let out during the murder, I see racial motivation. We can't prove that so we'll really never know one way or the other.
I see a two-track justice at play: street justice that resulted in fatality, and the real justice ⚖ system that never was, but only after the young had lost his life. I think the first guy (none of the ones on trial) who spotted the guy in the house and called police from in front of the house under construction should have been afraid. @@robjohnson8861, what were Travis McMichael's intentions when he moved from standing next to the driver's door with the shotgun in hand, to moving around to the front of the truck by running the length of the engine bay with the shotgun in hand when he saw Ahmaud Arbery change direction and run along the passenger side of the truck? To wave bye bye as he ran by?
@@robjohnson8861, Travis McMichael is NOT a retired officer, he is the son of a retired officer. Besides, what does it matter as the McMichaels had no legal grounds to base a citizen's arrest on?
I'm not aware of all the facts, however, I believe these men took the law into their own hands. At best they should have followed Arbery at a distance until the police could take over and question arbery. People have to realize that because their is suspicion, it doesn't make a person guilty. To add, this house was not their house that was under construction was it? If it was, at best this would have been trespassing and they should have done what I said from the get go.
What stands out to me is the fact that they didn't immediately call the police when the pursuit began. If they were attempting an arrest, that would have been the goal to get units in the area while they kept pursuit and tracked the suspect. That doesn't justify Arbery attacking him, or the shooting, just that they didn't seem too interested in following laws to take part in what they might have felt was justice.
They had no right to do anything. It's called racism and having a false sense of superiority. We all know race is what promoted this call. If he had been white, they would probably have never called police and began chasing him.
If it was there house it would’ve been a different ballgame. Than killing someone on private property could be innocent but that’s not the case here not even close
He also managed to fight even after being hit two times point blank range with shotgun blasts to the chest. He was fighting for his life . For all he knew they were just good ole boys in pickups looking to kidnap and lynch him or shoot him in the back. As per this investigators statements - Arbery's suspicion wasn't too far off.

It's very obvious that once the man in the neighborhood called the cops for Aubrey looking inside the construction site, Aubrey Knew this guy had called the cops on him...he than ran cause he feared exact What Happened. He was slaughtered, no questions asked for No Reason other than he's a black human being. The three males who murdered him need to serve the rest of their lives in prison. The cops who didn't render first aid to Aubrey (I still don't know if they called emt or not) And allowed these killers to walk around and discuss their lies on why they just had to cold bloody kill Aubrey NEED TO BE ARRESTED and fired from their jobs and put in trial for siding and abating these killers. I am so disgusted with these cops. They need to be trialed in a FEDERAL court. They are co-enablers of murder.
Ahmad ran when he saw neighbor calling the cops on him because he did not want to be arrested. If he does not trespass and enter construction site, the cops are not called. Of course McMichael could have still called since he was sent video from the owner and he recognized him. And he had previously called the cops on him a prior night when his dad was pursuing him with a police officer. He got away. If he does not trespass, no cops called, no chase happens. He is the instigator. They should have followed him as they did but they should not have got out of the truck. Until police arrived.
Its tough to say what their intentions are. They see a strange man running from a house in their remote neighborhood and want to check it out. You can't always wait for the cops to show up because they might be too late in preventing crimes. Arbery runs at the guy with a gun instead of halting and explaining his suspicious behavior.

Ahmaud, could easily be a child snatcher, No? Or what about a rapist? No? His actions from what I saw from the cctv were criminal, does he have to steel a child or rape a woman before the community has to act?
Let me explain something to the doubters. This man has been followed and pursued for several minutes for looking at the construction of a home. This man has gone around these trucks several times trying to get away and was struck by one of the kidnapper's trucks. Nevertheless, in a country where black people have been murdered for year's he continues to run for his life. He is being pursued by men with SHOTGUNS. There is a Difference between men carrying their shotguns on their persons on their property and men chasing individuals down a street with their shotguns off of their property. This is nothing more than a good old fashion lynching. Now as far as Mr. Aubrey attacking. It is clear that once again Mr. Aubrey was going around the vehicle as he did several times before in an effort to get away from his kidnappers. I called them kidnappers because they are trying to arrest him without probable cause, without jurisdiction as well. Even a police officer has to tell the individual why they are being detained. mr. Aubrey sees one man standing on the driver side clearly with his shotgun, so he runs on the opposite side of the vehicle to once again get around it. The man with a gun on the driver side then steps into the front of his vehicle in an attempt to stop Mr. Aubrey. Now this individual who shoots Mr. Aubrey claims he was attacked. This takes place and no one can see what happens because this is in front of the vehicle outside of the cameras view. It looks to me as if the man tried to stop Mr. Aubrey with his shotgun and this is how the scuffle began. Not at any time did Mr. Aubrey ever try to attack them. Now for those who have their opinion about black and white, I want you to imagine, this is a white man running from three African-American men for looking at the construction of a home. He has for quite some time tried his best to get away from them to no avail. Finally one African-American steps in front of him blocking his way. He is shot and killed. Every last one of them would have already been Tried and prosecuted for attacking an unarmed white man. Make all the excuses you want. Our eyes are wide open. You cannot just do anything to our people anymore and make us believe your tomfoolery is justified. You cannot make us un-see what we've seen. You cannot make the evidence disappear or go away, nor can you explain what has happened here as anything less than murder. And if the shoe was on the other foot you would want justice. I am not and have never been a proponent of racism. All people have a right to live a peaceful life. I live in a neighborhood were new construction took place for a while. And me and my white neighbor went inside the home to take a look around to see how it was being built to see what it would look like. The same neighbor is the head of the HOA. (She wasn't at the time) I am on the social planning committee of our neighborhood. ( I wasn't then)No one pursued us or tried to shoot us or call the law on us. My husband and I have for years looked at new constructions that were being built because that was our way of dreaming about having our own home-built one day. Unless there is a sign out front that says no trespassing or private property there are no laws being broken. These men good-old- boys blood was boiling and was in the mood for some adventure!!!!!!!!! It’s n-gg- hunting season pop!!! Go-on-git-em!!!!
The problem I have with your opinion is that they never shot until he was within striking distance. Why? If they are hunting like you expect then why wait to use a range weapon at short distance? From history, criminals who fight cops make the same mistake.

Yes, but how he got murdered also had to do with how it escalated. He kept trying to run around them, then eventually getting into a physical fight with them that would eventually lead to shots being fired... This is an example of many reasons why it should have been left to professionals.

If you look up Burglary GA code § 16-7-1 and Citizens Arrest § 17-4-60 you will determine 2 things. 1) Aubery committed a felony JUST by going in side of a building with valuables where he was not invited. Does not matter that he didn't touch a damn thing. Again, it does not matter. I can show you a 2017 court case of man convicted of burglary, lost appeal in appeals court and lost appeal in GA supreme court WHEN HE STOLE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. NOTHING!!! 2) Travis, having 1st hand knowledge (neighbor prob called him) of a FELONY, can try to effect a citizens arrest. That is, hold Arbery for the police. They had legal grounds to try and stop him, but NOT SHOOT HIM. That is, until he charged Travis and began to pummel him. At that point it moved into stand your ground situation. Aubrey could have run straight or to the right. If the jurors have courage, all 3 walk on the serious charges. The hitting him with a car is not allowed, but did what's his face hit him or did he block Aubrey at the last second and Aubrey ran into him.
Because if the “unarmed” person gets your weapon, then suddenly they are “armed,” & can kill you with your weapon. So, it’s not “clear cut,” given the State Laws, & that Aubrey had committed some criminal offense (ie. Burglary doesn’t require theft necessarily) & fled when confronted still in whatever act & State Law permits Citizens Arrest. There are a boatload of real LEGAL issues here to be sorted out. Having arms, as in real arms, is also armed, people are beaten to death & disability every single day since human time began. A lone Ohio State Trooper last month found himself in both situations. He made a Traffic Stop for speeding. He did not know the Driver had just been released from Prison for among other things “Assault on a Police Officer.” He was treating the Driver with respect. The male Driver even had his “wife,” & 2 small kids in the car. The Trooper had the Driver exit the car to speak with him probably for sake of the kids. Suddenly, the Driver jumped him without indication or provocation. A life & death full-on hand-to-hand struggle ensued, even falling over the guardrail. The Driver managed to discharge the Trooper’s weapon as Driver was trying to take it from the Trooper’s holster. The Trooper was hit. The Trooper managed to release the magazine still fighting for his life, rendering gun useless temporarily. Driver escaped, leaving Trooper laying shot over an embankment off roadside. All captured on cam. Was the GA one a bad situation … yes. Could better judgements been made by all involved… yes. Now it needs to play out in Court. But there is nothing “open & shut” about this, & Lawyers will definitely be intense on both sides.

There was no blood or spray. The second shot he's talking about missed Arbery. That was smoke from the barrel. The first shot struck Arbery's right wrist first - tearing through an artery - before striking him in the center of his chest. The second gunshot missed Arbery just before the third struck him near his left armpit - hitting a major artery and vein and fracturing bones. That shot caused an immediate reaction, which can be seen, as Arbery disengages and proceeds to run away before falling to the pavement a short distance away. He was still alive when law enforcement arrived, but no life support was administered. He died shortly afterwards. The fact that Arbery even put up a fight after the first shot is amazing. As unfortunate as his death was, at least he died fighting; a true soldier.

@Devils Reject You're basing that faulty opinion on emotions, not facts. Go look up Georgia code 16-7-21. (I'd link it myself, but the comment keeps getting deleted.)
You'll see that Arbery did not meet ANY of the elements of criminal trespass in GA.
@Devils Reject you don't stop someone by repeatedly threatening to kill someone.
The man who called the police was right because the victim trespassed into a private property. The three men had no business chasing the suspect; they should have let the police chase him.

Those fools were behaving like the young man had killed somebody. I'm glad the jury convicted them.

Ok. Being totally serious.
Hunted him down like he was an animal. just AWFUL!
How can you plead self defense when your armed pointing a gun at an unarmed person.
People all asked that same exact question during the Trayvon Martin case.
@@jameshepler62 an armed person can't claim self defense when he or she is the aggressor who produced the weapon on a person who has committed no crime and now has to defend themselves against a person or as in this case persons, that jumps out of a truck with a confederate flag license plate waving a gun screaming profanities to stop, trying to cut you off, and when that fails ,jump out of a truck with a shotgun. Now who's life is in danger an unarmed person or three men with guns chasing an unarmed person, who just happens to be Black who stopped and looked at a house under construction and continued jogging until he was gunned down because he wouldn't stop running because two armed white men neither of which were law enforcement officers, but after shooting the victim three times with a shotgun blast are now pleading self defense. Inspite of all of that the actions taken by law enforcement officers at the scene and then the DAs office was unbelievable.
The hypothetical scenarios of what you may think constitutes self defence doesn't apply in this case.
They even filmed their actions against an unarmed man who didn't steal anything or break in anyone's house in the middle of the day, but it took two and a half months to charge these men with murder and the DAs office had more then enough evidence to charge them from day one. They maybe privileged, but not to commit murder, because they think somebody did something wrong. That's not self defence, that's something else...........
Because neither pointed a gun at him prior to him charging and grabbing Travis' gun. The gun was raised and fired only *after* Arbery grabbed the gun.

Arbery lived close by, I wished he would have cut threw some yards to get home and called the police on those guys. But maybe he knew the Police would not help him. What a helpless feeling, I can’t imagine what he went threw and to die all alone on the street. This is the best breakdown out there .
He probably was terrified to go onto anyone’s yard. If this is how people in that community react because they saw him go into an empty, unbuilt house, image how they’d react if he went onto occupied property. He probably felt he had nowhere to turn.

They wanted to document the suspect, Arbery. The McM's saw themselves as vigilantes for neighborhood justice. They brought the weapons to scare and be prepared in case Arbery had a weapon, which they had reasonable suspicion of. And, yes, the McM's have time to serve. It was not a 'clear cut' murder, but may be treated as such. More so a 'manslaughter', although that may not be allowed due to the extremeness of the case.
