Your project is going well and some excellent video editing. One thing, I recall reading Matt Armstrong saying that if he made a bright thumb nail photo for his videos they got more clicks, hence he wears bright hoodies and takes his thumbnail photos outside. Good luck!
One piece of advice, cover over the glass & move it out of the way, those grinder sparks will eat into it, ask me how I know. Great job keep it up, it’s a long process but once you start putting things back on it just starts to fly. I used self tapping screws to temporarily hold the panels when I rebuild my MGB back in the 1980’s but clecos are much easier to use & I’ve managed to pick more up at car boot sales.

Also with that I can go past 90 degrees soo less hammering on the panel and less distortion! They’re cheap enough but I don’t know if I’ve got the storage for it😂😂😂
I had some quite good results by laying the new part over the panel and ising a really thin disc to cut along. This left about 1mm gap to weld up between the old and new panels and when done the contour flowed nicely. Im not an expert by any means but it worked like magic!! I got that method off a other youtube channel :-)
Yep super progress, most useful tool is that builders set square , use it all the time , also won't take long for repairs after the other side is done , should be a lot easier from then ,
Well done mate. Good to see the young'uns getting stuck in. If you want to take an old timer's advice, don't buy one of those cheapo metal folders that go in the vice, they are just about better than nothing. 2 pieces of angle iron and clamps work as good or even better. Go for one of the more substantial ones. Also, a jigsaw with a good metal cutting blade is great for sheet steel cutting, you get so much distortion with tin snips. Check out Dave's Garage channel if you get a bit of time. He gets some great results from basic tools in his own garage.
That’s a great idea with the angle iron wish I’d of known that before! Diy metalwork can be difficult with limited tools at home! ( and trying to be quiet for the neighbours!)
Making great progress i was hoping to see you put a step edge on the door skin repairs so they would of then sat level with each other. Rather than just an overlap. Save on filler to to get door profile back.

Are you putting the drain holes back in the bottom of the door 😳 I think you are speeding on with this a little too quick, slow down abit and you will end up with a much better car at the end. I am. Only saying this as I have done what you are doing on my own car.
Drain holes have been drilled I’ll show them in the next video! My camera died hence the big skip ! I’m still not 100% sure if I’ll re-do the bottom skin I might purchase a metal folder/bender… they can bend past 90degs so no hammering/ distortion and do longer straighter folds!

That's a good way to keep the doors integrity in it's gaps, and fit, which can be very difficult. Great to see how you do these job's. Cheers Bob

You need to protect the glass otherwise you’ll have spatter marks from the grinder and welding!!!
I know I only noticed during editing! There’s no marks and it’s safely stored in the loft!

Tbh I’ll probably keep it original with the yellow it’s a bold colour but I like it!
Probably best to stick to original colour, otherwise changing it can devalue the car.

Use proper penetrating oil, WD 40 isn't the best for that job.
