Welcome to Progust, the 31-day music listening challenge during the month of August. Every day we will present a different album that you might not have heard, or maybe it’s one you haven’t heard in a while. The goal is to bring up a mix of classic albums and some obscure choices, as well, to round out our musical knowledge. A new video will be posted here every day where we will present the album of the day with some notes and we invite you to go and listen to it and then leave your comments below in the RUclips video or on any socials where these are posted. Hope you enjoy it! - Roie, Vic, Dan, Nick, and Geoff

Great album, I love me some Zappa but hadn't found this one yet. Will be playing it a lot from now on, this is perfect bike-riding music!

“Is it proggy? No.” The opening song is in 7/8! St Alphonso is one of the Proggiest songs out there! Still glad you like the album!

The title track is an absolute banger ! The fuzz bass from Jack Bruce is astonishing

Frank Zappa is the greatest musical mastermind of the 20th century no doubt. He was way ahead of everyone. While the great prog bands have a run of great albums and then settle into ok releases after a few years, Zappa was releasing masterpiece after masterpiece from his debut in 1966 up until his death in 1993

I saw Dweezil in Albany last night and he played almost the whole album.
I don't know how you can like 70s prog and not like FZ. The only reason I can think of is hating anything remotely jazz influenced.
FZ was incredibly serious about composition and arragement. Lyrically, it was all jokes and absurdities, not all of which landed or aged well.
