They both sound very similar to me, but the GE 90 has a more high pitched whine then the Trent engine but both sound amazing on takeoff so I can't really decide.
@@cnordegren Well PW can't make an engine for Airbus because they have issues to figure out and GE declined Airbus' proposition for an engine for the a350 because they want to focus on the ge9x (and keep the money they make from it)
That growl of the RR is unmistakable. Here in USA l can pick it out easily from the more common GEs. In Europe the RR is more common and I tune my ears for the GEs 😆
RR sounds better. Best of British. So far it's an excellent engine on the 777 200ers.
GE are great engines too

Play this shit at my funeral 😍😂
Man I just love the 777-200ERs because of their diverse engines
Big mistake by the 777x and A350 programs by only allowing one engine provider.
@@cnordegren exactly.
@@cnordegren Why big mistake?

The Trent 800 sounds much better
True
I agree
Love the energy of both engines!
Great video(s). 😮😮❤❤❤💙💙💙. Great comparisons. I like both of them
I flew to Tokyo with Japan Airlines in a Boeing 777 with Trent engines, the sound onboard was incredibly loud and beautiful
It’s a great sounding jet! Love the sound of the RR engine.
Japan Airlines is solely GE not Trent.
@@ahm_767 it was an RR Label at the Engine and it was written in the Plane discription. It was 2010.
I love the GE90
G-VIIJ, G-VIIE, G-RAES are the best GE90-90Bs that BA have 😮💨
Trent for me

G-VIIF 1:00
Great video!
So which engine is louder?
Rolls Royce Trent 800 sounds sexy and loud
GE90 is king.
What causes the different sound?
probably fan diameter and composition
Also possibly air moisture density?
GE90 Rules
