In my opinion its not about the 'experiment failing'. You've taken an extremely tight knit group (which was what made them special) that had worked all preseason together, with Sexton outright earning his spot and taking them to the top of the ladder. To now signing a 19 year old, forcing Sexton overseas and ultimately dividing the playing group, its not rocket science

I think you are right, mate. Not a dogs supporter, I’m an Eel, but it made zero sense to me. People can say what they like about Sexton, but he came to the club, the Bulldogs hadn’t played finals games in nearly a decade, and he was their halfback, and got them to the semi-finals, and then this year they were clear leaders of the comp, and then, without rhythm or reason, they tried to force Galvin in there. To be honest, I’m glad the Dogs signed him and not my Eels, because I’m not a big wrap on him, I think he’s more trouble than he’s worth, but I think they would have been better leaving him in NSW cup to learn the Bulldogs systems .

100% The bulldogs with Sexton had comraderie and were playing for each other hence they were top of the ladder. Now with Galvin coming in half way through the season without proving anything beyond a decent season at the Tigers, that tightknit comraderie is gone.

That was all heart and grit from the Broncs. Nothing went their way for the first sixty minutes. Defensively they weren't as bad as all the commentators said, except for the kick they let bounce. The dogs scored from opportunistic kicks and messy, broken play. They scored off one set play from a scrum, that was it. Canterbury could have put on a much higher score, but the Broncos held on by their fingertips, until they wrestled the momentum and game confidence their way, and once they had, they didn't look like losing, even when the ref missed the most blatant sin bin-able offence I've seen in the last month.

@@MungasaurusBravo69420 one wonders why Gus/Ciraldo wanted to bring Galvin in at this stage of the competition in the first place? The Dogs were 1st before origin. After origin every team will have their full 17 back. We understand what Ciraldo is doing but why did the Dogs want to bring this on in such a way that they are experimenting half way through the year. They weren't broken, nothing needed to be fixed. Many teams are starting to find their feet, the back end of the draw is going to be a lot tougher than the first half. At the moment experimenting isn't doing that well, so I agree, pick a side that you want to take you to the GF and stick with it. Galvin can't be on the bench either, you will have the likes of Hayward, Mann and then 2 big forwards on the bench, and you have Tupouniua and Fifita still out and places will have to be found for them. Again I just don't understand why on earth you would bring a kid in from the Tigers and stick him in the team that is leading the premiership.

Remember that Reed Mahoney is leaving too they can stop shoehorning Galvin into the side and just have him as a back up half.
If they drop sexton or keep Galvin to replace Mahoney in a game it messes up the fluency and rotation.
If they want Galvin as the halfback then hurry up and drop sexton but since sexton is the best fit this year then drop Galvin to 18th man for the rest of the year.

Galvin was clearly the MOTM - he won us the game!! Connor Tracey was also lucky not to get sent off for taking out staggs - but then karma came back and stretched his ring out immediately when Piakura steam rolled him on his own line #bronxnation

After 60 minutes, the dogs looks like the best team in the comp.
How does the narrative change to the experiment isn't working? It worked incredible for 3/4 of the game.
Galvin isn't responsible for the team going to sleep

No one is bringing up that the broncos beat the dogs at grind footy at their house.
We only let one try in through line break.
Otherwise we were there for every tackle. And by the 60th minute the dogs were out of steam.

I made a comment when Bulldogs lost to Penrith regarding injecting Galvin into the game. If the coach keeps on doing that, they will loose all the games against top tier team. That's exactly what happen now which Broncos shocked them. Hooray Broncos.

As good as Ezra was, Billy Walters injection into the game had a lot to do with it. IMO Walters should be the starting 9.

Look-the dogs were scoring from mistakes and tries from broken play. Broncos were feeling flustered. All Broncos needed to do was to focus, settle down, control the rhythm and put on some structured moves and thats all they did. Broncos settled their game down in the last 20 minutes then began scoring. All Broncos tries came from strucured moves. All Dogs tries were from broken play and Broncos mistakes.
I am not surprisee Broncos won. With 8 minutes to go, there still was plenty of time. .

The Broncos had 4 players away on Origin duty and another 3 players out injured. Most of this team had only trained together for the first time this week, so no one really thought they’d be able to win. That was the gutsiest game they’ve ever played. Then didn’t play well in the first half, but I believe they played as well and the Bulldogs allowed them to. They obviously thought they had it in the bag at halftime. If I was a Bulldogs fan, I would be filthy. Good on you Broncos. I think that game could turn out to be the defining moment of the season

As a Canterbury supporter, this was worse than any 30 pt + drubbing I sat through during our Dean Pay, Trent Barrett era. Absolutely fucking putrid. I dont wanna hear premiership coming from the club again this season.

    • @abrahalesles8146
      @abrahalesles8146 15 days ago +2

@jonathankim4892 they will never win the premiership, their peak is top 4 period. You can already see raiders, roosters and dolphins are going to be challenging for the premiership in 2026 so i do not see the dogs winning in 2026 either. By the time you reach 2027 the players that the dogs bought will jump ship. You can only go so far when you buy success, the only way to win a premiership these days is through generational talent like what Penrith had.

For real. If they just got thumped from the outset, it would be bad. But to come out and basically sit out the second half and let the Broncos walk home a victory was somehow worse.
