Regarding the question "Do you have a set budget": could you clarify on the suggested order. I have heard other "experts" stating that its important to "anchor" your "Rockstar" rate first - are you suggesting doing this and THEN asking for their budget? Thanks for clarifying, and for the useful tips!
You can certainly try that! I find by simply starting with an open question, it puts the pressure on THEM to divulge what kind of money they have to offer. Once you have that bit of information, you can start the negotiation.
