    Hi Daniel, you're an inspiration. You're sheep and goats are not tagged. This will give room for inbreeding. Look for goat breeds like Boer, Savannah and Kalahari. They grow very fast and reach market size at 6 months. They weigh around 80kg to 120kg at maturity.

    Looks great, I believe there are tree forages which might be useful to plant near and around your new structures.... And can supplement the current feed longterm.

    Hi doc. I am impressed with your passion, efforts, and information. Would you consider tail docking for the sheep as well? It is a good farm practice to reduce flies' manifestation, ease mating, and fatten them quickly.

    Am from Kenya and a goat and sheep farmer. We do sheep tail docking so that the long tail falls off. Our sheep have no hanging tail at all. I see it's different in Uganda. Good job.

    Your goat barn will be approx. 160x600 you will be able to harvest a lot of rain water you can the floor plastic or wood. Godbless

    Ask people to bring organic household waste to designated drop off point in exchange for eggs. You can build a compost heap for the free range chicken to feed. Your free range chicken eggs can be sold at a premium.

    Dr DANIEL you really love animals look at the SHEEP, GOATS CHICKENS DUCKS COWS what animal did I miss. DR DANIEL it seems as thought you should have been a veterinarian as well.
    Where is BINGO we are not seeing him.
    How is he going health wise?

    Hi, I would suggest placing a noise ring on the adult sheep that try to breast feed as that behavior disadvantages young sheep's development and can lead to the spread of disease.

    Hi Dr. Daniel, thanks for the educative videos, my question is that supposing I have 10 female goats which are all local breeds and I would love to improve upon my breeds but I am financially constrained to buy an exotic or cross breed male, would it be okay to just hire a male of better breed to come and Mate with my local goats when the time for mating comes?

    Try adding a few Dorper breeds or crossbreed them with the local sheep. Dorper breed grows fast and is disease resistant. Kenya has the breed.

    I was told when a lamb is just delivered you don't touch it. The month need to get used to its scent. If she can't, she will reject the lamb.

      Certainly superstition. As the mother licks it right after birth, it registers the scent

      Tail docking is only necessary with wool sheep. It is done to prevent fly strike.

    Goats and sheep have different mineral requirements. Sheep can tolerate very little copper, while goats require extra.

    Hi again. I think you should get Boer goats. They are the ones with red head. These goats are very good for meat.

      Not red head, but brown head. From South Africa. The Red Kalahari breed of goat is equally very good for tropical climate.

    DOC, first you dont need to let GOAT and SHEEP manure set in piles you can add it right to your gardens,, second,,. i have no knowledge on how to raise goats and sheep in your climate, we get winters as cold as -40F, and summers as warm as +85F i am willing to learn how you guys raise sheep and goats,, THANK YOU for the information

      One egg per day. But a very good bird can lay approximately 5 eggs per week.

      As for me, I still have 13 years to my retirement but I want to start with Guinea Pigs, Rabbit, Grasscutter, Sheep and Goats. So that at retirement, I would have perfected the enterprise. Lots of love...!
