Just when you start to despair about modern music, along comes SPA and takes you right back to the 1980s - this band is absolutely brilliant and who would have known that Turkish is the perfect language for this genre?!
One thing I love about she past away. Their songs aren’t always “dark, gloomy, and depressing,” a lot of their songs are actually very upbeat and sound very happy!
It's a superposition of both, really. You can hear it either way, and then realize it's all and none of the above at the same time. This is the same quality that made Siouxsie & the Banshees great.
Anyone still listening? My wife got me this album a couple months ago, she's amazing. As is this album. Going to see them tonight! P.S. I got my daughter a synth for Christmas! I hope she loves it. She has great taste in music!

Ok, having now seen SPA live, I have come to the conclusion that SPA is the best darkwave band of all time. I have been an avid connoisseur of darkwave for decades and this is the sound I was looking for all along. Lots of great darkwave music out there, but SPA really nailed the sound and ALL the songs are fantastic. Thank you Volkan and Doruk 👌👌👌👌
I can't wait to see them in san diego in two weeks. I really want to see drab majesty top though, I love both of them equally for different reasons. I'd say cold cave is up there too and we're amazing live as well
