Queen & Freddie were a once in a lifetime band. Freddie could sing anything from soft and smooth to rough and gritty. The quintessential performer. This is when Freddie was starting to show the signs of having aids. He gave us everything he could for as long as possible. Never to be equaled.
It was Brian singing towards the middle of the song with Freddie coming in too. Freddie was already sick here and grew the beard to hide the skin lesions on his face from the virus. He also was losing stability in standing and had to stay closer to and hang on to the microphone for most of the song.
This track is off 1989's "The Miracle" and Freddie didn't expect to live long enough to finish it, but he was able to deliver 1990's "Innuendo" and left enough material for the others to finish "Made In Heaven" after his death. Also, Queen has 3 lead vocalists - Roger Taylor handles the high notes, Brian May handles the fat bass bottom end, and Freddie fills out the middle range. With this in mind, their operatic harmonies were created by each of them having to lay down 3 vocal tracks in each other's range plus thier own. That's 9 vocal tracks per vocalist - 27 vocal tracks total - for the mixing engineer to fight with ... 😂
The Miracle was from 1989, they changed their harmonies through the years. In the early years Roger and Freddie did most of the high harmonies. But still sang well. Fought til the end. Passed away in the early 90s, late fall or winter.. RIP 🙏 very sad when he passed. Everyone at my school was uneasy, sad and scared. AIDS was ( and still is) very scary back then. Queen was a good band and had good music.
Not to mentioned the stigma, kids borned after 90s dont know people actually GET KILLED BY BURNED ALIVE just because suspected having aids! It is THAT BAD!
So this is from 1989, quite late in Queen's career. 80s era Queen is my favourite period for the band, but as others have said, Freddie was quite ill at this point. I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that he grew the beard to hide lesions on his face (but don't quote me on that). The other guy singing in the breakdown is the guitarist Brian May, it sort of flits back and forth between him and Freddie, really seemlessly. I don't know why they chose to do that there, but it works. Btw, has anybody ever mentioned how Brian May built his iconic guitar, using wood from a fireplace, some motorcycle parts and a knitting needle?
Another good reaction, and fun. Freddie was so sick that he wrote a swan song for this album, "Is it all worth it?" (at the end of the song you'll have the answer), Roger (drums) and Deacon (bass) thought that maybe it was the best song on the album. But it seems that Mercury wanted to save the song in case he died before creating more music. That song has maybe the best Freddie Mercury vocal intro fused (I think) with a guitar sound. A great great hard rock song.

the one queen track that is almost the opposite to this these are the days of our lives, so emotional and in my opinion. one of the best songs queen ever recorded
Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor were both lead singers on their own solo projects as well as being members of Queen. To hear their chops from Queen’s catalogue, check out ‘39 (Brian) and “I’m in love with my car” (Roger). It’s part of what makes that “Queen sound” so special.
From their beginnings Queen ran a gamut of styles. From Glam Rock early on to hard-core rock to ballads to prog to psychedelic. Some times all on the same album.
Would love to see you react to, "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" by Queen. this song always makes me emotional. At the end Freddie gives fans and loved ones a final farewell, by looking straight at the camera as the song ends. Freddie whispers "I still love you", which are his last words on camera.
Actually, the 1986 album “A Kind Of Magic” was basically the Soundtrack to Highlander. It was still considered a full fledged Queen album though. This was off “The Miracle” from 1989.
Guitarist Brian May sings lead on the bridge while Freddie is providing backing vocals. Hammer To Fall, Headlong, Scandal, The Invisible Man, The Miracle, and Princes of the Universe are other great mid/late 80s Queen songs
Freddie was ill when they made this song. You can tell as the microphone is firmly in the stand, where usually he carries it with half a stand. They wanted to get back to more of a rock sound with this. If you want to see different, try some of their other later songs like Breakthru, The Invisible Man or I'm Going Slightly Mad.
His illness was not the reason for how they made the video. I'm aure he was in pain but he was very much beibg able to move and walk still at that point. If you look at Headlobg video, he was in much worse condition and he's still moving(with the micstick) like he usually did.
Towards Freddie's 'end of life,' this video/song is Queen going back to their roots in a hard rock genre where, I believe, Queen music is at its fundamental best! Yes, they progressed in multi-genres showing their outreach in many different genres (always in a 'Queen style'), but their root in hard rock is how they launched such a successful career. 'Any way you want it, that's the way you need it' (Journey lyrics), but Queen delivers 🙂FOREVER!!!

The other vocalist was Brian May, The guitarist. he has a very good voice. he sings a few queen songs as lead vocalist, including '39 from night at the Opera the same song that has Bohemian Rhapsody.
Brian wrote this song after hearing his girlfriend, at the time, join him at a concert. She loved the limelight and made a statement, something like "I want all of this"
I was just listening to this yesterday. I actually own the 45 of this. Great choice. If you want a great song from this record..listen to breakthru. It's amazing.
It's probably the most rocking queen song. we are even on hard rock on the border with metal. at the time, Queen was already considered an old band that had become a bit commercial in view of the 70s and filled the stadiums. Mercury, ill, lets the other members of the group compose more without trying to distort their work. it is the greatest success of the album the miracle, an album which moves away from what Queen did best.
Allegedly Freddie was hiding dark spots ie sarcoma's on his face with the beard growth which can be a symptom associated with AIDS. Song was written by guitarist Brian May when then girlfriend and now wife Anita said... that's what I want, I want it all and I want it now after seeing Queen in concert at Wembley.
This was from Queen's 1989 album 'The Miracle'... one of their last records. In 1987, Freddie Mercury was diagnosed w/ AIDS and knew that his time was coming to an end... He confided in only a few people - the members of Queen were among them. Freddie said he wanted to get busy working on new Queen music, and the band respected his wishes. Unfortunately, Freddie's illness took Queen out of touring ever again... The band wrote songs together in the studio, it took longer to finish recording the albums. 'The Miracle' was finally released in 1989, and Queen shot music videos to promote it on TV. 'I want it all' was a huge single in Europe, Japan & South America, but the record was ignored in the USA. Freddie was ill and struggling to perform on camera like he used to on stage... While promoting the album, rumors began to circulate that Freddie had AIDS, but Queen denied it... Another album 'Innuendo' was completed in 1991 and released w/ video promotions... By this point, Freddie was too ill to appear on camera, appearing in his last Queen music video 'These are the days of our lives' that year... He kept recording vocals until he was unable to perform in the studio (Those tracks were completed as the final Queen studio album 'Made in heaven' in 1995 after Freddie had passed away) Freddie returned to his home in England in the fall of '91. Just before he died in November, he released a statement that he had AIDS.
Freddie decided to stop touring in 86 before he knew he had AIDS. Brian isn't reliable but he said they only found out 1 1/2 years before he died.I find it very odd that none of them have said clearly when they were told. want it all was Brians only hit with Queen at no 3 uk but was also no 3 US rock chart I think. other than rock you which was no 4 US with Freddies champions most of MIH album were old songs or Freddies solo work they put their music to
@@bluebell3720 Queen did their last tour in 1986. Then, they went on a break. It was in 1987 when Freddie was diagnosed w/ AIDS. Freddie told the band when they were about to write a new album around 1988 that he had a virus, and there was no cure (they assumed he was talking about AIDS) and he was done talking about it. He asked that they work on new music and carry on as long as possible. His friend Mary Austin, and his partner knew. And Austin said that she was devastated. The band knew in 1989 that he was dying, cos he couldn't move like he used to in video shoots. This was 2 yrs before Freddie died. There was no way they didn't know, being unable to tour... Freddie also couldn't work very long in the studio. They admitted that they kept his illness a secret from their own families for years.
This is my favourite Brian May song and I think the pefect song for Brian to write for Freddie to show his genius in the later times of the band before he was too sick to really let it rip like this.
Brian May was singing on the bridge with Freddie. Brian and drummer Roger Taylor sing lead on several songs in the Queen catalog. Freddie sings lead on just about all of the singles though.

Best ever Queen song, I effing love it.
One of my favorite Queen songs ❤ If one didn't know he was sick here you wouldn't be able to tell, like you guys. As others have said , the beard was because he had started gettibg marks on his face. His face is a little rounder from the medicine he took too. I think he looks great though ❤👌🏻
Any audiophiles out there, use the song " my baby does me" from this album, as a stereo tester. The guitar is silky smooth.
I still miss Freddie. He was uniquely wonderful.
INTERESTING INFO: THE LEAD SINGER FREDDIE MERCURY WAS BORN AND RAISED IN AFRICA, IN ZANZIBAR. HIS REAL NAME WAS FARROKH BULSARA. He sadly died of AIDS at the age of 45. Wikipedia.
Please watch Queen - One Vision(extended) video. Great song, amazing video with a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Lots of horseplay etc. Fun to see the guys just letting loose.
And the song rocks.
I've met guitarist Brian May several times. he is the coolest dude in real life, super friendly.
I was such a big fan of this song in 89. Bought the album which nobody cared about at all in the states where I was on vacation
She loved the limelight and made a statement, something like "I want all of this"
Yes, they got together when Brian helped her make her album. They denied their affair. But it started around 85 to 86..
One of those songs that requires you crank up the volume to the max!!! Also ups your workout to maximum effort. 🚲🚲
Hammer to fall is a good classic rock queen track
Also, "White Queen," and "March Of The Black Queen." Both from their second album.
LEGENDS!!!!
I love it....Queen for ever
That's what she said 😎
I was just listening to this yesterday.
This song gives super energy
Allegedly Freddie was hiding dark spots ie sarcoma's on his face with the beard growth which can be a symptom associated with AIDS. Song was written by guitarist Brian May when then girlfriend and now wife Anita said... that's what I want, I want it all and I want it now after seeing Queen in concert at Wembley.
At the time it was made, this video held the record for the number of Super Trooper spotlights, used on a single stage.
This is my SONG!
This and One Vision " Official Video are two of my favorites
All the members of Queen have always sang, "Bohemian Rhapsody" for just the main example, but Freddie's the spotlight guy, definitely.
He kept recording vocals until he was unable to perform in the studio (Those tracks were completed as the final Queen studio album 'Made in heaven' in 1995 after Freddie had passed away)
Freddie returned to his home in England in the fall of '91. Just before he died in November, he released a statement that he had AIDS.
Freddie decided to stop touring in 86 before he knew he had AIDS.
Brian isn't reliable but he said they only found out 1 1/2 years before he died.I find it very odd that none of them have said clearly when they were told.
want it all was Brians only hit with Queen at no 3 uk but was also no 3 US rock chart I think.
other than rock you which was no 4 US with Freddies champions
most of MIH album were old songs or Freddies solo work they put their music to
@@bluebell3720 Queen did their last tour in 1986.
This is my favourite Brian May song and I think the pefect song for Brian to write for Freddie to show his genius in the later times of the band before he was too sick to really let it rip like this.
queen the show must go on please
Queen probably had the largest range (of great songs) in their music of any band in history.
Great song. I remember seeing the video when it first came out and I was surprised at how sick and gaunt he looked. So sad.
Brian May was singing on the bridge with Freddie. Brian and drummer Roger Taylor sing lead on several songs in the Queen catalog. Freddie sings lead on just about all of the singles though.
Still today rated one of the top 3 singers of all time !!!!!
