      Except Regnitz and Elzbach but that is more related to the landmark than the influence ^^

    I would put this pretty far down the list to look at. It is difficult to exploit and really not very impactful when it is. Never seen a game where any top players are looking around trying to break the golden age links. There are WAY too many other FAR more important and impactful things to do. Maybe if Abassid were already S tier and needed a reduction but they are so far from that.

      I do agree that the game needs a lot of cleanup that will be prioritized over this, but I'd still like it to be addressed tbh. :)

    i do think , same thing with influece (unfinished houses count as a link) applies to HRE influence system (emergency repair), this i find more conserning as you can link invisibly your castles in middle of the map with your town providing this buff

    Something I've been doing is create more mills than you'd usually create both because they extend the influence and count for it, and because it's every so slightly better for farming. That gives it more upside than a house for the purposes of adding structures (and they cost the same and take the same space for the sake of spreading influence). You can also be very liberal about adding more lumber camps once your villagers start having to walk 2 tiles to their trees.

      Indeed, eco buildings like those cost the same wood as houses - something I had to get used to coming from AoE2!

      i always put towers as fillers so that when i get harassed my production vills can always seek shelter close and kill off early knights or wtv :)

    Abbasids need 1 buff: camel cost lowered or either base stats buffed.

      Yea they come off as anti horse faction but lose camel vs horse base fights. It almost seems moot. I try and tell my self the debuff is worth but tbh Spears are just better....end game.

    I dont mind that it counts foundations - but only after they swap to the visible & attackable phase when a villager gets close.

    This also works for the Rus wooden tower bonus when you place lumber camp foundations.

    This is a great concept, except everyone just skips this step and destroys the house of wisdom and the landmark TC instead because that ends the game completely. Abbasid needs a buff for those two buildings since they have half the landmarks other civs do and no amount of infrastructure matters when they get targeted by mass units.

      Yeah it seems you can never delete scouts. They will always stay 1HP and die then live again due to the healing. Have to get enemies to kill them if pop cap issues...

      isnt that only with the OG scout you get at the start of the game, or is it all scouts?

      It's a known game mechanic, but I'm not quite sure why it's a thing tbh. Not being able to delete scouts to free up pop space in a very niche scenario is annoying

    Can you make a vid showcasing the Zhuge nu and showing the different unit matchups in each age in comparison to archers and crossbows and maybe hand cannoneers to give us an idea of their strength relative to the other ranged units?

    Can you investigate how unbuilt/partially built wood walls work?
    I had an enemy lay down wood walls right in a crucial chokepoint where I was building a stone wall, and the wood walls were stuck in a limbo state where I couldn't use infantry to torch the unbuilt enemy wall, but I also couldn't build over them. I had to use a mangonel with attack ground to finally destroy the foundations and close the gap.

    I would love to see a video about the melee hit micro you can do with the scouts (and other units??) where you increase the attack speed by a lot

    I think built foundations are fine, at least enemy players can destroy it, and you can cancel it as well. But that ghost foundation should not have the influence function.

    Does the bonus stack? So golden age 1 - 10% gathering for villagers // golden age 2 - 15% gathering for villagers - does that mean it's now 25% or 15%?

      No they don't stack, so simply reading what each tier provides are the bonuses.

    On paper a very good civ, but in practice if you have not that much time and if you don't exactly know what to do a low tier civ which makes you problems. They can be really strong. But not worth it.

    I don't think this is broken. It takes a decent amount of resources to build the link with foundations, and Abbasids aren't that strong.

    Influence bonuses are dumb. Just get rid of the hassle and make it global. The only ones that make sense are French keep bonuses and English mill bonuses. Delhi and Abbasid bonuses would be much better if it were globally counted.

      Why? The point is to encourage dense cities. Just like English farms only profiting around farms, not a TC, there's some trade off. And it's still a great bonus even if you forget about some lumber camp or don't link your forward military production.
      And the effect itself IS global, unlike your other examples. Just the buildings counting towards reaching the next tier are not.

    Honestly I think it's fair. No need to remove it.
    The Abbasids are already at such a huge disadvantage in landmark victories, having only two landmarks that need to be destroyed, which are almost always going to be right next to each other. In TG especially it's frighteningly easy to force through and rush down those two buildings (especially with fire lancers in their current state...) and take the Abbasid player out of the game.
    Besides, other players can't easily lose their bonuses. Delhi has "mosque wifi" and don't need to connect their mosques together. Rus can never be reduced in their bounty totals. You can't take the Chinese out of a golden age by destroying one of their landmarks (I think...). It seems reasonably fair to me to make it relatively easy for the Abbasids to keep their golden age, even if it's not _automatic._

      While I do agree with you that the Abbasids do need some sort of re-work to help their situation, the instant Golden Age link should still be changed I think. I don't particularly like mechanics that have no counter-play, so I'd rather have this taken out but have them buffed or changed in some other way to compensate :) But I agree, the lack of Landmarks for the Abbasids is a rough one.

      But the House of Wisdom gains 5000 hp with every age up on top of its base 2000 hp and 5 fire armour, making it actually harder to take down than the equivalent number of landmarks for other civs. Most of the time, those are pretty close to each other too. Also, you don't lose say, the resources banked in a Guild Hall or other such landmark bonuses, when your House of Wisdom was reduced by 5000 hp. So is it really a (big) disadvantage to have the House of Wisdom from a defence standpoint?

      ​@@Muenni with how powerful siege-especially late game siege-is in this game, yeah it's a disadvantage. The best defence against siege is multiple layers that allow you to attrit them down gradually as they move between layers. Because once they're in reach, they do their job really quickly.

      @@JimCullen True for imperial siege, less so the aforementioned fire lancers with their fire damage or other non-siege units. And by that time there's far more efficient defensive layers available than another landmark. Siege is also far too fast and sets up too fast, so you don't gain much time that way - unless you somehow managed to construct at least one landmark away from your main TC. Possible in imperial age, but not the norm, I'd say.

      It is only 20% at tier 3, only the bonuses from the said tier apply.

    The only way I see to countering this ghost link, is to spam houses (completely built) in order to erase foundations, thus disrupting the invisible link. Still, thats wayyyyyyyyy to much effort for little to no benefit, since the Abassid player could easily spam foundations again to regain the link.

      You could just palisade block it since once the foundation is covered it will cancel the build.
