This song is amazing! Kylie's high notes are beautiful, the video is so different and captivating. The song lyrics are so chilling. The vilions, the drums, the sitar-like instrument in the background towards the end ... her best song EVER.
I remember this video was at the end of an old VHS tape of cartoons that my brother had recorded. I was like 4, and I found it extremely scary, yet fascinating.
I can appreciate anyone who analysers things like that but when you're 4 years old it can be a bit hard to digest but when you're mature it becomes your best friend in certain ways
Love the production on this track, the tightened rhythm section constrained to the centre channel with muddied hints of busting loose, this allows the strings and synths to prowl left and right- deep and floating around the background in their own haunting space. The vocal production is outstanding, very intimate and eq-wise it sits nicely on top of the drum n mud bass which is ducking perfectly out of her upper mids and high range frequencies. The sneaky ghostly slap echo on the vocal is toned down underneath and fattens out her lower range to warm it up and frame the vocal with more weight. Interestingly the strings that open the track and provide the consistent pop\dance hook anthem are re-assigned @3:30 to slip in and take over Kylie’s last note as it tapers off. Nice! The production choice to nerf the entire song along with her vocal treatment\effects and leave the listener with a stark cold naked vocal to close track is crazy good and very powerful, even though it is void of the lush backings and swelling anticipation of the final build up, it is indeed the jewel in the crown, exposed and confronting you with a presence which kinda says in a scared way “ ok here I am, you found me” Although the accompanying video is tightly married to the song and works brilliantly- the song and audio production really carry the weight of the extraordinary creepy array of emotions evoked, it’s the naivety of Hansel and Gretel’s first nightclub experience, the beckoning finger of impending doom surrounded by dazzling lights and pop art imagery, the journey was always going to end in tears. Lastly, back to chorus vocal production- the rise of the angelic airy hiss of high frequencies on the word “confide” appears rather briefly then ushered away as the following words take over , then later on this audio eq technique for the chorus vocal is allowed to completely take over the words, the result is elevating the song to the sickening heights of vertigo Hitchcock climax sequences. It should be revealed that the guitar line against her vocal is indeed a subtle nod to the Doors song “the End”, giving a rather subliminal ominous atmosphere of loss, loneliness and the inevitable final moment of judgment day.
This is a very depressive and desesperate song, the video is brilliant and the way she sings like we have to go on with a smile on the face! Every one has his own reaction to those kind of feelings, i love this song!
Hang on what hang on what hang on what hang on WHAT did you say??????????????? I get it! It does sound like a Jamea Bond song, but maybe.....too vulnerable, you know? But definitely classic.
One of her most distinctive and evocative songs for sure; her vocala towards the end are spellbinding. "Kylie Minogue" and "Impossible Princess" are such underappreciated albums, they're musicslly and vocally adventurous, impeccably produced, and offering such a disparate selection of moods and atmospheres. Kylie is pop's David Bowie, constantly reinventing herself and never timid about exploring new sounds. And she's _still_ doing just that all these years later, always inapired by current trends but never beholden to them - Kylie always forges her own path!

I was only 5 when this was released. I heard this as a teenager probably when I started using RUclips. I wasn't a fan of Kylie at the time but for some reason I kept coming back to this beautiful, haunting song. I was impressed that Kylie could break the mold of a pop star. It introduced me to the idea that it's ok to be vulnerable, whether you are a man, woman, child, or squeaky clean, pop star. I'll carry that with me for life.
This opened tonight's artist in residence hour, with Shygirl; 9pm on BBC6 , 13/12/2023. It wasn't until I checked the BBC6 website that I knew it was Ms Minogue. Wow.
I remember everyone saying how cool this song is and Kylie finally getting some respect from her critics, and it was also played on JJJ, that was a huge deal for some reason, One of her best albums KM94 👌
I think Evanescence's video for Everybody's Fool has some elements in common with this video:D .. the messages on the screen and the multiple roles Kylie plays. Anyway. I cannot grow tired of this song, absolutely a classical!
Still her best song, hands down. This album was criminally underrated at its release.
I actually like this song quite a bit, and it makes me wonder why exactly people don't like her? She has a lovely voice. :)
I've always loved Kylie
This is my favorite song EVER!
Pure art.
This song was so ahead of it's time. Also such an underrated song. I always come back to this song!
Top favourite for sure~!

One of the best pop songs of its generation. Superb production and brilliant video 🙌🏼
Still the best song Kylie has ever done. Still sounds current and fresh all these years later.
@@CompleteNewbieIt's better than the sh*t she's making now which is formulaic auto tune crap.

Confide In Me turns 30 today and I can’t quite believe it. The looks! The memories!! Stick or twist …. ❤️
This is her MOST EPIC song! Probably her best! Whole album is just AWESOME!
The mid 90s, Kylie goes alternative and we get this masterpiece ❤
I love when Kylie goes alternative mid 90’s, I wish she would have done more of it. Incredible music production & video too! Dark & glorious 💋
It’s 2024, if your still listening to this timeless song, give yourself a pat on the back, what a tune 😎
Her best, in my opinion.
So James Bond especially the strings. I absolutely love it.
I remember this video was at the end of an old VHS tape of cartoons that my brother had recorded. I was like 4, and I found it extremely scary, yet fascinating.
we all had things to watch at the end of vhs tapes lmao wink wink
It's the bomb 💣

In hindsight this video clip is a 'masterpiece'! It certainly deserves more appreciation. Well played Kylie!
Charming and mystical song that is artistically out of this world. A song that will be loved treasured for hundreds of years.

I remember when this first came out. It was jaw-dropping
love it when she made this kind of music
This song is the perfect backing for a Bond movie intro. Probably been said before. I've always thought it. 007 in Secrets are for never.
That is a SERIOUSLY fascinating and credible suggestion, and really, shes such a UK legend, why........not.......you know

It's mid-2024 and I just stumbled upon this song on radio. Jeez lewis! Where have I been?!
May I ask, which radio station and where played this song? I never heard of it until the XITE channel on Amazon aired it.
@@shaunamoulton8764 Heard it from a Malaysian radio station Traxx fm

This should of been Timothy dalton 4th bond film reunion with death song
Ahh the 90s! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
musically brilliantly written, beautifully sung by a pretty woman.
Simply magnificent. Breathtaking.
this musical style is coming back in trend. the orchestra mixed with hip-hop beat (trap nowadays).
I'm lost in this tune. I can't explain it.
This Song absolutely certified for me Kylie's credentials. No argument.

Michael H. taught her well. This version isn't the original in the 1990s when it was played on the radio in Australia
