So this has been my first year of enjoying and following the AFL. I must say you Aussies have got a very special sport there. It makes rugby look like it's in slow-mo. You've got a convert in this Kiwi.
Don’t barrack for them but maybe now everyone will start respecting Richmond the way the deserved to be. In the talks of all time great teams/dynasty’s and still all class and showed that with gaz’s guard of honour. Congratulations tiges you deserve everything you’ve achieved and probably more if I must concede. Well done on topping off the decade and all the best with the beginning of a new one 💯👌🏻🏆
Magnificent performance by an extraordinary club and a similar performance after the match in how they saw off Gary Ablett. Damien Hardwick is up among the greats now too and i wonder how Simon Goodwin is in the Hall Of Fame yet Hardwick isn't.
Nearly 300 games, former club captain, dual premiership player, 2 or 3 b & f awards and about 4 or 5 All-Australian jackets - that's Goodwin. Alternately, Dimma's playing record doesn't warrant hall of fame recognition, but he will go in as a coach, no doubt.
Day grand final all the way. Having a BBQ for lunch celebrating the spring weather and getting the beers into you and then celebrating/drowning your sorrows for dinners. Maybe the game can start later in the day but not a night grand final. Don't forget the kids miss out in a night grand final, especially once 20 min quarters resume it will finish way too late for them. We are forgetting the grass-roots

Well if the Grand Final at the MCG next year (no 100% certainty yet) is a night game, let's hope it's the poorest crowd for years, preferably under 80,000). Had no problem with this one off night GF in a humid (compared to Melbourne) Australian city but the Melbourne GF is a sun soaked springtime sporting day of days, ...we don't want a twilight Melbourne Cup, we (the people, not the suits) don't want a twilight A.F.L. Grand Final either. 2.30 p.m. on the last Saturday of September next year, how good would that be to see the Cats turn the tables on the Tigers.
@@npg68 I'm well aware of that, but all the same, the A.F.L. would want to think carefuully about that. People aren't cashed up (due to Covid). There will always be enough suits turning up, but to see patches of empty seats on a Melbourne Grand Final night wouldn't be the best look.
I guess you had to be there to fully appreciate how great the experience of a night grand final was... Keep at the MCG (if possible), but don't dismiss a night or even a twilight grand final
Not a chance in hell they'll do another night grand final, wayyyyy too late and the only one it benefits is the TV execs.
