I was a metal head back in the 80s and never listened to Lionel Ritchie, I am sure I even turned my nose up and sneered at people who like "That pop crap". How wrong I was. Lionel's voice is so smooth and soothing. Total class, and I missed out for a long time. Don't be like I was. Go ahead and prefer whatever music you like, but do not dismiss other artists just because they are not in your favorite genre. True talent is a rare thing, when you come across it, treasure it.
Agree. I think we all can put a "type" to music, but good music is good music, regardless of genre. And I seriously love the part when Ritchie sings "When we go down life's highways..." I think that is such an impactful message for anyone, anytime, and such an amazing part of this song.

I remember in the White Nights commentary, Taylor Hackford said that only a handful of people close to Gregory knew about his illness when they were shooting the film. Mr. Hackford said he and everyone else connected with the movie were completely in shock when the announcement that Gregory had died and the details of his death came out. Still tapping in Heaven, I bet!! ❤😢
