Thank you for this Tony, It took me a while to work out how to do something similar to this, wish I had seen this before. Lots of people are using ptfe instead of rebinding, this will really help take the mystery out of it.
Hi I don't find it does as I use the cork grease to stop the thread getting water into it. Silk and Poly cottons are horrible as they slip too easily and your binding will become loose before too long. All the Pro Makers I know use a cotton based thread of some kind and none use silk or poly cotton. I tend to steer clear of the forums as there is a lot of nonsense out there.....
Yes I've tried nylon thread and it just unravels in a short time so went back to the cotton and it works perfect thanks, when will you make a video on how to make the cork grease? Cheers

Thanks for this video!!!
Who's here stringin' up a 3d printed Baroque flute?
Greetings from a flute enthusiats, I wonder why some maufactures choose to use thread instead of cork and viceversa, I am just curious about it.
Interested in the cork grease making when you have time
Why do every other flute forums say never use cotton because it absorbs moisture and actually recommend silk or polyester?
