I have become a bit addicted to your channel, Beau ! Always a fun, warm, sometimes chuckling way to end a day, feels as though we are all there hunting with you. Your delight in things, your excitement over a find, your immense knowledge are all gifts you are sharing with a jaded world, lifting our hearts and helping us to find the spirit of adventure in our hearts again! ! Bill had quite a find there eh? I loved the little buckle. It looks like it came from a child's piece of clothing or perhaps even a doll. Fascinating! I feel sort of sad when I see bullets and spent cartridges and know someone was hunting too. Of course hunting can be important for a family but I like you have a heart for the critters as well. Thank you so much for these wonderful episodes !
If you would like to invite me metal detecting or have some property that I can make a video on myself, please send an email to my “aquachigger” gmail account. I can’t trade hunts with you, but will you trade a hat or two and try to stay on my best behavior. *wink* Special thanks to all of my supporters over on Patreon! Follow Chigg’s Army! A 'Skeleton Key' was indeed a master key. In a large house with many doors and locks, each door had a key that fitted. The wards on the keys, the notches and slots would only work on that door by allowing that key to turn and pass through correlated to those slots and notches and pull the mechanism to unlock. The Skeleton Key on the other hand was plain and narrow and would pass through the notches and slots of every lock. This is the reason they were sometimes called a 'Pass Key'.
The hooky-thing could be a piece of horse harness. There would be a strap that runs from each side of the bit and hooks on the hooky-thing. Prevents the horse from lowering their head.
The "skeleton" key you found looks a tad torqued. Usually, a key like that has the key aligned with the shaft and key finger hold. It kind of looks like a key that may have been forced to the point of offsetting the alignment in an effort to force a lock to open. Hey, it's cool they didn't break it. Pretty neat.
One branch of my family settled in the Shenandoah Valley (Big Calf Pasture) somewhere around 1720...my 5x great grandfather (born there in 1761) fought in a couple of the major battles (Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse in the Carolinas) of the Revolutionary War. BTW, nice Alice Cooper lyric reference!
so after i finished the vid I had to go treasure hunting online for a group of like minded souls in my state of Montana . Of course there are lots of groups and so many places to explore! I hope one day next time you come west you will do some exploring of the huge number of ghost towns, some very obscure, in our state. Only trouble with Montana is it's so huge its hard to connect with folks
My sister lives in Jacobus pa… one day I’ll have the honor to meet u my unmet friend.. and ina way you will know who I am .. much love and respect truly
The round heavy object at the beginning that Bill had is from a toy gyroscope. I don’t know if that was what he said it was, it was a bit difficult to hear.
1:18 that looks like the flywheel of a gyroscope toy. I had one back in the 1960s. The flywheel was made of a hard cast lead/pewter alloy that you could be bend by hand. The center spindle is missing from yours as well the round cage that houses it. I recall dropping mine a few times cause the wheel to become canted on the spindle. After shoving it back into shape several times it eventually broke completely, much like the pattern in which yours was broken. You can still find them in Specialty toy stores and websites.
THANKS FOR SHARING👍💞👍NICE FINDS! MUCH LOVE FROM

Love it that Chigg is proud to dig a doodad, or what ever, as if it were a little boy’s treasure. Man has ambition as well as, a wobbly kitten.
That first thing shown that looked like a spinner is the spinning part of an old gyroscope. They were very popular toys back in the day. Enjoy
That was quite the collection of treasure Bill had at the beginning of the video! Pretty cool!
I love showing up to these videos early. It feels like I'm there with y'all.

@13:15 Directly in the center of the frame is a silver dollar size round object (left of the eagle button you found).
Thanks from Hackney, London.

I have seen wheels from a childs toy cannon that looked a lot like that spinner thing that Bill found.
Beau watch them Samquinch's it's getting warmer lol!
