It happens to new electronics items .. I hope it's not an problem..Because I face this same wire burning smell when I turn on new mixer or Blender.. The smell comes for 2 or 3 times but if u keep using it will be normal no smell nothing...
My new black decker hand mixer is not working. Ist time I tried it. It works but after that it can not works. Fail to know the problem. It is 5 speed. No there is no damage issue.

Even I have face little smoke with smell.. If you have doubt return it and replace yt with new one... It doesn't worth risking our lives🙄

For me its still working in good condition.. You should return it.. Tell them to replace it with new one
