TTPD is a treat album...but not a great one for newbies. She wrote it for herself as a way to process the end of a long-term relationship & the explosion/implosion of the rebound guy, both if which left her reeling & depressed. The production, unlike Reputation, is definitely secondary & there to carry the lyrics. So, you won't find the driving sounds you did on Reputation.

New Years Day, the album closer, is a song to her fans. Very emotional. Connecting to her fans is very important to her. With regard to her next album, TTPD is more pop and The Anthology is more slow and folky. Her pen is incredible either way.
One little point I only picked up from other reactions, is she often does effects in her production that use the left/right of the speakers/headphones output to add to the impact of the songs. I can't think of one off the top of my head, but for albums, I'd suggest both earbuds or headphones to capture those level of details

Ooo okay if you don’t have reputation timing context, once the media turned on Taylor, #taylorswiftisoverparty was the top trending on Twitter, etc. she disappeared to a foreign country and nobody physically saw her for almost a year. This is when her and 🤮Joe Alwyn started their 6 year relationship. What happened is she wiped ALL of her social media too. Then posted just a snake video and then announced reputation. So she wrote this album when she was in a bad place, yet a really good place at the same time.
If she’s not talking to him but is talking to everyone else that’s because she’s too nervous to talk to him. It’s like when you feel too insecure and intimidated to even speak to someone because they’re so good looking.
The album had mixed reviews. It was a big change for Taylor and followed her 12 month disappearance after the Kanye call tape edited version, was released. It was not widely nominated for the grammy's although it did get a nomination for best pop album, but did not win.
