I did use one of the internal cab sims actually. The EV12 one that you get when you register the pedal. That's the one that to me sounds the smoothest, and is the least bass heavy. I also only use the "high treble" knob, and leave the bass on 0. The pedal is quite bass heavy to my ears, and easily gets muddy so it took some time figuring out how to get a tone with some more clarity and high end :)
@@Guitarjosii Try putting bass at 0, only using the high treble volume, along with putting treble and mids above noon. And maybe also going hard with the presence function. I was expecting it to be brighter when I heard it in the initial video they put out with all the celeb guitarists
@@AmnellAndreas Yeah, that's why I often use it with external cabsims. This is why I was asking, if you used the internal ones here in your video. I have a video on my channel where I compare the Lion to my actual plexi. The bass response is pretty much the same. But somehow, in combination with the internal cabsims, it can be too bassy.
What I liked about it, other than being a brighter guitar, was the way it resonates acoustically and how I am able to get the action as low as I like without any dead notes. I always felt like the ‘07 was a bit darker sounding and not as lively as my other guitars when I was strumming it unplugged.
They were good, the burstbuckers, but to my ears these pickups had a more “special” sound, which is why I kept them when I sold the guitar back to its original owner :)
Prefer the Yamano.
Did you use the internal cabsims from the Lion? If yes, which one? 🙂

@@AmnellAndreas Thanks! Yeah, that's exactly what I am thinking. Sometimes I really have some struggle to tame it's muddyness.

@@Guitarjosii Nice, you have the Studio Vintage 20 as well! Good comparison!
Prefer Yamano in the vid here, especially for the clean tones, seems louder warmer and more pleasant sounding.

Would like to hear the OG pickups in the 2007 R8
