- This is part two of an exploration of two old abandoned homes close together. In this video I find two open cisterns that need exploring. I also find a sad sight in one of them. Poor possums :(

Thank you for putting the locust limbs in those cisterns and covering them up!
The fact you're putting in ladders for hapless nature which gets trapped in such an unnatural environment makes you a super cool guy! Interesting video too!
Greetings from the UK!
The whole time you were talking about the sisterns , I was hoping you had the sense to provide an opportunity ( via a log ) of escape. It was very comforting to see that you had. I admire you for that. Thanks for bringing us along.
Famous last words " I'm pretty sure you can eat these". LOL
Greg Kotschwar ha
Mush/ Rooms...😊😆😯😲😨
🍒 😍 😳 🤢 💀
Greg Kotschwar 😁
So glad you put big, long branches in those cisterns so whatever falls in can climb out, then put covered around the log to cover holes.
I kinda wanted to see the cow graveyard. Thank You for showing the water animal grave it was a good life lesson. As always I learn a lot from every one of your videos. Thanks again and please keep them coming.
miss ur old type videos man. on the river. with ur boat. always enjoyed
those.
carmine not summer in the states, still cold, Buddy,
The bars are probably a fallen corner hay feeder for a horse. Enjoyable video, thanks.
I'm so grateful this isn't smellevision 😉 sweet walk Beau!!
As Outlaw Josey Wales said, "Worms gotta eat to."
"Lookie here 'Lije. Looks like we got ourselves a Josey Wales."
"Whipped 'em good Josey."
"Whipped 'em good boyyy."
Shut up Lije.
"Pa? Is that you Pa?"
"I ain'tcha Pa".
"Pa? I got the gold here Pa."
Glen Pierce I reckon so.
When you were looking in the cistern that had the (unidentifiable) possums in it, I realized I had stopped breathing through my nose! 😆 Those mushrooms are polypores, and while they are edible, they are pretty tough unless they’re really young. You CAN use them for soup...
As soon as you found the stone with the initials on it, I thought it could be an old headstone for either a family member or maybe a pet.
If you are ever down in Georgia . I have a farm that is 2500 acres lots of old houses and wells. You are more than welcome to come by
So cool to see all these old places people have lived.. my country is too small for abandoned houses
The devil went down to Georgia
Once he hits one million, won’t he be the biggest metal detecting channel on RUclips?🤨😧
One small suggestion; could you post the link to part one when you have a two part video? Thanks for all you do.
Thanks Bouie
Barns back in the day usually had their own cistern well when it was convenient. Other times they shared a well with the house if it was close enough. At least I assume the one in better shape is a well as it has a small iron pipe going into it.
Where the shed was it reminded me of my grandpa’s back yard back in the 80’s
He was a junk collector too RIP
Sometimes there a date carved into a brick on a chimney, so if you ever come across a bare chimney it's worth taking a look.
Scary for sure.
Good footin'!
Thanks for the infor on the stuff you found.
The metal covering is really interesting. The only two reasons I can think of are protection or maybe heating. Seems like plenty of trees around for firewood for heating. But doesn’t seem like protecting the wood was much concern either.
Who knows? The last place I lived had a 5 gallon bucket on the roof that had been sealed down to cover a hole, among numerous other oddities. Heck, my dad cut a hole in the bathroom floor of my childhood home to throw dirty laundry down to the laundry room easier. If it had survived to far in the future, someone might have wondered if it was a strange basement entrance for skinny folk or something.
So that house could be someone covering it with metal because they had a dream or thinking it made it bullet proof or animal proof or something. Can’t forget the eccentric flair of humanity when solving a mystery. Haha
THANKS
FOR ANOTHER
GREAT VIDEO,🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
We called those coal slag chunks clinkers, I don't know if that's the proper term but as kids that was what we called them.
the stubby square iron with the round end you found some 10 or more videos back is a grinding stone axle.
Thank You For Teaching Us All So Much !
Mushrooms are Dryad's Saddle or also called Pheasant Back...only good to eat when they are super young otherwise they are tough as leather.
Thanks for the adventure, Chigg! 👍👊
Beau, Please put a limb down those cisterns, for the small critters that may fall through the openings, so the little guys can get out. Alrighty, just heard you say you are putting some limbs in the cisterns. I knew I could count on you. Since nobody will be using those cisterns any more, you should ask Jones to find out if you can pour a bottle of old veggie oil in there. It will coat the surface, so the mosquito larvae will not live. Only use oil this way in certain situations, cause you don't want to kill some of the other creatures or creepers. Wanted to tell you that my parakeets imitate what they hear and one of those things is the coyotes at the end of your vids. Cracks me up. Figured anyone reading this would get a chuckle from it. ")> Funny birds.
Wow Chigger I can't believe today you still find stuff like that out there in the jungle very scary
The flat stone you suspect may be headstone could be. Looks like part of a flat stone still standing vertical in the ground to the right, upright portion could have been broken off and fell face down. Flip it over and see if there’s writing on it. It could help date the site.
7:07 That umbrella ink or mucilage is something I find fairly often among 1870s throwaways. I'd definitely come back and dig there.
My dogs say thank you for playing the coyotes at the end
they were missing it
NO, Beau! You missed the metal box with gold nuggets and single action army pistols in the bottom of the cistern, just because of wimping out on your cameras and magnet! Both can be washed!
Wow!!!! All I got to say. Thanks for sharing,
I found a similar stone to the one you show at 16:20. I didn't know what it is but hid it in the forest where I found it. Thanks for the clue.
Hello Chigger GOD BLESS.
Don't be afraid of Commander Bun Bun.
Those mushrooms are edible.. but you'll want to harvest the smaller ones (when fresh), also skulls sell for a good amount.
I think the stone with the writing on it is a headstone.
I found a ceramic looking pipe in the middle of the woods near a wall and some depressions like that before. Didn't know it could be an old home place like that. It was in davie county NC
Good man, thinking about the animals.
Awesome job! Happy Hunting!
I have notifications on but I never get notified that you made a new video !!
Beau you really are the MAN 👍 GL&HH steve 🇬🇧
Very cool adventure. Thanks for sharing.
During the drought here in California I had to fish out three squirrels that had dieded in my friends redwood tank. I think I was bothered the most by his indifference to having made coffee and bathed and done dishes in dead squirrel water. 88 years old and he hadn't died yet so he wasn't worried I guess.
buillioncubes 😂😂😂😂🐹🐹🐹
There they are! The squirrels come back to haunt me on RUclipss!
Those bars make up the hay troughs!!!!
I may have an overactive imagination and be a massive chicken.... but is there something at 4.00 looking at you lol. Then the smell and the iron bars 😂👀 🏃♀️ your so brave. Nice videos 👌🏻👌🏻
great video from Steve hall in catlettsburg Kentucky
Small world Mr. Hall, I’m right across the river from ya watching.
When you getting back in the water Chig?
Your videos are pretty cool and interesting..
The bars kind of look like one of those wall mounted hay feeders for horses. Maybe? I feel sorry for the possums. I trapped and released skunks when I lived in a different county, where skunks were prolific. Some wanted me to kill them, but I didn't want to. They are nature's little garbage cleaner uppers. Someday, I hope to have a pet skunk, but have to get one from a state where they are legal to own. Otherwise, I couldn't get them vaccinated in this state.
Lisa Messmer a lot of feed stores and pet stores sell them that you can administer yourself. Take a small ice chest with ice in it because it has to stay cool until you plan to use it. Hope this helps.
A foreman was walking a construction site when the worker beside him grabbed his arm seconds before the ground before them collapsed into an abandoned septic tank that had vertical iron re bar rods at the bottom very possibly saving the foreman's life. Be careful out there.
Back on our old farm we would stick a board or a tree branch down in the cisterns so the critters would have something to climb back out on. There you go posted before you did it. LOL
Fair play to you lad
Yeah, finally 👍☺
At the bottom of the foul and putrid cistern there's a little sky filled doorway.
I also thought to put something in that cistern for the animals to crawl out of
Hi Chigg, not sure about those toadstools, I cannot believe in this day and age of recycling that so many people are still dumping their trash illegally :(. Cool video, thank you. x
I always wondered what I had found? I see you identified it. The carbon battery core. Thanks,RJK.
Glad to help
10:00 are not mushrooms, they're fungus but not the same.
The slagg is called cinders.
I LOVE exploring with you but it is such a bummer when I see a Day 1 or part 2 and can't find the rest of the series because all the titles are varied. For example: where is part one of this adventure? And the scuba diving adventure with Steve... Where are the rest of them? You had a super cool creek dig where you were finding wagon parts and a cannonball. It was raining and getting dark. Where are the subsequent days?? Help me Chig... You're leaving me hanging...
I can't wait for you to go back!
Thanks for sharing th knowledge.
MIGHT BE A CAVE DOWN HERE WITH SOME GOLD COINS IN IT !!!!!!!!!!
Very cool, my guess is it was half stone and then mortised beam walls like they built in Germany.
When it fell into disrepair they built the hog shed with the better materials on site.
I think?? Those mushrooms are called saddles or side saddles
Enjoyed the video! :)
thanks chigg
Beau, you need to take a better look at the rock with the initials on it. This is an unusual find, especially the type of writing that was on it. It could be of some significance or maybe not but I love for you to uncover it and video it. 😊
Those bars are for a horse feeder, probably for large work horses…….
Mushrooms are chicken of the forest. I think their best in late summer Usually grows on dead oak logs. They taste just like chicken. Research them so you know when their fresh to eat. Considered a great delicacy in Italy. Glad you did not dropped the camera down there.
Chicken of the woods is a little different. I think the ones on that log are just a
Tough shelf shroom.
Every thing taste like chicken after shrooms M8.😅
*New/World/ Warrior* hahahaha like...
Pheasant back or Dryad's Saddle we call them...only good to eat when they are very young/brand new...otherwise super tough
Great video and cool place
Well done Beau, ;)
The first thing I thought of when you found the stone with the initials was a head stone, then you found the other that you thought was a head stone. Family plot maybe?
They need cement cover over those !
Brilliant, I love your vids.. the way you take care with the animals 😊👍
Regarding the possible tombstones...
At 11:52 there was that stone with letters carved into it...?
I just found an old cistern in a house built in 1895.
Grab that ink well broken or not it’s still a great find I’ll take it and pay you to:)
I’m a collector to and that would be a great addition to my collection pleeeease Chigg 🙏
There could be writing on the underside of that gravestone.
Some of those if you get the right ones, they taste like Steak. LOL
Dirt Diggler so good!
Stick with morells. Safer that way. ;-)
It's a shame that place is probably not detectable. I'd at least try around the big old tree stump.
Awesome video
Most stalls have bars, that's most likely what they were about
Wow 😮
Could you try blogging with a 360 camera? It would give us a much better view of everything
Hey out of breath Beau! You look like a pretty fit feller, but you've mentioned being out of breath many times on your videos. Visit yer doctor and they will do an EKG and maybe a stress test on the treadmill. You might need yer ticker fixed so you can keep holding your breath and having more fun.
(Definitely make Nugget crawl around inside those collapsed buildings)
Dr SBH were medical bottles :d Found a ton of different ones on Ebay.
Wow
Bests video aver
💕💕💕😘
What's up with the 30 second ads we have to watch can't fast forward through them! RUclips is ruining everyone's videos. We stopped watching TV because of advertising/commercials now the greed has ruined RUclips!
I think those are psychadelic mushrooms
Chig, you should really wedge the log in the corner of the opening, if you can... I hate it when i'm climbing up a log and it rolls, making me fall back down. hehe at least try to stop it from rolling like that. have a good day
Love it
Mushrooms are better left alone. They can be deadly.
same ole' same ole' lol!
Always take at least a 6 ft walking stick out in front of you.
