As someone who grew up in the Caribbean we made those as children, without the fancy tools. We made bowls we ate from, cups we drank from.... we made maracas, we made jewellery, buttons among many other things. The husk the coconut came from was used to shine the floor.
I am always surprised to hear the voice of the commentator. His voice is heared same while soeaking in Hindi also. It is digital voice or human, can anyone explain me please😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
I was middle class/slightly upper mid class. No boat, no pool, no pool table. 2 cars, dad drove the less fancy car.Mom got the newer Oldsmobile. At my dear friend Toby’s it was all jelly jars and plastic on the couches and over rug down the hall. No air conditioning, but his grandma had a window unit thankfully, she was paying the bills and getting near retirement. God blessings to you Ms Louis !! Middle school & HS 80 til 87. Kool-Aid tastes just fine outa a jelly jar. I’ll wash out a spaghetti jar or jelly jar now and it drives my wife nuts
@amazingtopics6894 Got me once a "Makapunong Alikansiya" ("Piggy bank" made from Makapuno shell). How did I remove the coconut meat w/o breaking the shell? Remember that there's only one sprouting hole. Just bore through, drain, and let the ants do the rest...😅
In Asia, we use it as ladle, the coconut husk to scrub the floor, the stems of the coconut leaves as broom & the coconut trunk as bridges. Not one part of the coconut tree is not recycled. Before the word recycle/upcycle was invented, we were already recycling that in 1950s & 60s. Who knows, our ancestors had many brilliant ideas just about anything coconut. Nothing has changed. We’re still doing the recycling.
Same in my country I Am 60 yrs old I remember when we were showering we used these sort of cups to scoop water and we had drinking cups same and spoons etc Like you said everything recycled and the husk was used to scrub the dishes instead of the sponges My late mum always the sponge creates bacteria in the dishes note we have been alerted….😢 sad too late too Indo the harm
Thanks for this video. I will try doing this. Specially since am planning to build a tiki bar next to the pool. Question 🙋♂️ what was the clear product at the end ? Thanks
Actually there are hundreds of uses of the coconut shell. From time immemorial folks used it as dipper, salt container, condiments container, ladle, spoon, etc etc but that one is excellent.
In a coconut tree we don't waste anything at all. It is the most utilized tree in our country. From Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil and to making fertilizer for farming.
This is one thing I have thought of but was unable do because of things at hand. I am very happy for my brother who saw through me achieve this thank you very much.
We make those here in our country..... for our creole festival we show all hand crafted projects our grand parents used back in the day....u should see the chairs ,mats ,mattresses made out of coconut husks and lots more ❤❤
In the Philippines during my Elementary Years in Public School we are taught to do this kind of crafts. 60's 70's and 80s kids learnt to this crafts, made in coconut shell.
Did u know ,better than a silver glass r ceramic one ..the coconut shell holds the hottness of tea r any hot drink for a long time comparing to the normal glass
Yep looks good, but you have to have all the things ready to do that,I had an uncle that would make hair clips with the coconut shell was sooo beatiful❤❤❤❤❤❤
This type of pots we Indians are using from ancient times. These pots are very good for our health. Europeans used to oppose these things earlier but now they are ready to use. After all they are copying only.
Don't toss that coconut shell after we've enjoyed the meat? Bro, how do you even get the meat out and keep it in one piece like you showed us to in this VDO
A glass costs too dollas. Between the brush, sandpaper, a trip to a bamboo land, all the tools and meals to make this thing, I’m saying it’s definitely worth it.

We used to do that during school craft competition. For kava bowls, fish broth bowls, etc. Even buttons are made out of coconut shells.

Not 1000 years , 40 years before my house v used coconut 🥥 shell’s only to drink and eat food .

Also the coconut leave as a roof for your hut.
What could we do without the narrator
In this lifetime, no one is indispensable but we do appreciate the narrator for bringing the coconut tree in the forefront.

@ we survived. We’re exposed to something & we still made it.
Environmental friendly and sustainable. It must be promoted worldwide
Great for bacteria though
❤ beautiful cup
Our high-school crafting subject made a ladle out of coconut shell with a bamboo handle. No glue nor varnish. All are natural and organic. 👍
Everything in coconut tree is useful ...from body.. leaves..fruit .. etc..😊
In the Pacific Islands, the coconut tree is the most useful plant on earth. It provides everything we need for living... everything.
Nice good cup healthy living.

Varnish I guess
@ thank you, I asked a friend and he mentioned something about epoxy ? I will look more into this . Thank you
@@jorgesardinas-cd8gj yes, it could be epoxy
Great idea, glass by a pool is insane, recycling the coconut is practical and safer than glass.

We been using coconut shell to drink out of from baby it can make so many different things 😊

Let me like your Comments for that
In Africa We Use It In Many Ways More. Like Porridge Spoon. Soup Spoon. N sometimes We Use It As Natural Gas firewood. Coz it Burns like Gas Cooker
Sustainable means using local materials so this is ok if you’re living somewhere where coconuts grows not otherwise
In the Philippines during my Elementary Years in Public School we are taught to do this kind of crafts. 60's 70's and 80s kids learnt to this crafts, made in coconut shell.

Beautiful cup yeah
I made a tabla set (Indian musical instrument) out of coconut shells when I was in school (around 20 years ago) 😅
Hai Good Evening Wow super idea super job Super coconut shell became a cup Super Manufacturing super Hard working Super finishing 👍👍👍👌👌❤️💯🌹
We've being doing this since our pry school days as 'handwork'👍💕🇳🇬
Oh handwork 😅😅. Remember using elephant grass 😢 or so we called them to make hand fan
There's no end to the cool ideas😊
Or get yourself a plastic cup.
More cheaper
Polished it that it felt as soft as peach or as smooth as peach !!??
Looks better than a Solo cup !!!???!!!
That actually looks nice
I want one right great talent there amazing
So creative....❤❤❤
Amazing talent ❤❤❤
Incredible 🥰
That is one of our project during our elementary days wayback 1980...❤❤❤
We use them in aquariums as well! They make great hiding holes!
wow amazing....but here in philippines we used that as a bowl
This is not a new idea, this was our cup growing up
In S.India we use so much coconut, and discard the shells as tinder/ fuel. or to make charcoal
During my elementary.days it's our school project ( although.epoxy is not existing yet) we can do designs.more.than that!
Wow ❤❤very nice bro
Y'all never been to the Caribbean 😂😂😂 that been around for generations. Coconut cup and calabash bowls
How does it get "soft as a peach"?
Beautiful cup
This is traditional in many parts of Asia for centuries. They make all kinds of stuff from it
Cool idea
Great picture and the pictures
Wow. You can make a cup out of a coconut? Consider my mind blown.
In Jamaica we make bowls called kalabash out of coconuts
Beautiful! ❤❤❤❤❤
Very unique and very creative
Wow that's awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice 🙂👍
Beautiful,
It's very common in our country, we do this in elementary school ..and coconut shell are used for various applications..
Don't toss that coconut shell after we've enjoyed the meat? Bro, how do you even get the meat out and keep it in one piece like you showed us to in this VDO
😂WE SOUTH INDIAN PEOPLE USE IT FOR KITCHEN SPOONS,LADEL,😂2000 YEARS AGO,,GOD TAUGHT US ALL 😅😊
Africa should learn this
Stil we are using for spoon , playing games, accessories ,even for cooking items too
Nice idea ❤
Coconut is a God's gift
We indians r using these nature based utensils for 1000s of years. & we had healthy life also before the europeans influenced
Would've been a hit in Flinstones era
Automate such innovative idea and business will flourish.
👌👌This is verrrry good for health 👌👌💪❤️
Beautiful
Beautiful and useful
Lovely coconut cup 👏👍
Wow that's a natural cup
Amezinig ❤
My late grandfather used to do that 😢 he made a bowl and a cup .
My father did that for several years.
A glass costs too dollas. Between the brush, sandpaper, a trip to a bamboo land, all the tools and meals to make this thing, I’m saying it’s definitely worth it.
Amazing 👏 ❤
Please, we do this in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean.
Good idea no waste.
I wonder how the varnish taste like?
In Colombia that is normal, I remember that my fifth grade project was to make a particle accelerators out of coconuts
In Fiji, we use that to drink kava (traditional drink)
Oh please, gluing a bamboo stick for future use is pointless. About as much chance as Kammy running in '28😮
Love the kind nature👍👍
