  • hi! cat ear hats went viral on TikTok, and i added some features to mine to turn it into a hello kitty beanie! this is a perfect project for beginners and it super quick and easy to make!
    the hat itself fits a head with a circumference of ~22" but can fit heads anywhere from 21-24"
    also! i realized after i edited the video that i titled the section where we do the eyes/nose as "Bow," i am losing my mind! ignore that slight editing error there oopsie!

    As a “beginner” I recommend that every time you make the first chain wrap it around your head, because not everyone has the same size. (Because *maybe* 75 chains would be either too big or too small for you)!

    hi! Great tutorial! tho i recommend for the ovals you do a magic circle, then do the following into the magic circle: chain 1, chain1, double crochet, double crochet, chain 1, chain1, double crochet, double crochet. Then slip stich into the first chain made. if you are more of a beginner, it will give a much cleaner and tighter result :) xoxo

      yes! a chain 3 is fine, just make sure to either count the chain 3 as a stitch or put your first double crochet in the stitch right next to it! it’s a little hard to explain, but basically just count your stitches to make sure you aren’t losing or adding any. good luck!

    • @meldycrochet
      @meldycrochet  Год назад

      hi! thank you for bringing up your concerns!
      sorry for having my fingers in the way, it is surprisingly very difficult recording, explaining, and crocheting at the same time. i will keep this in mind for future videos!
      a double treble crochet is where you wrap the yarn around your hook 3 times (where as you only wrap it around your hook 1 time in a double crochet). you then pull through those 3 wraps three separate times if that makes sense. you can look up "double treble stitch" on RUclips and it might help.
      the circle is a bit tricky! you're basically just making a chain, then, attaching the end to the beginning with a slip stitch. hope this helps!
