You got a lot more swag than I did with my brand new 14.5 Mk2 that was brand new from BCM. Regardless, it's a great upper. Probably the best you can get for the $.
I have heard that they inspect batches of lowers and uppers and when they find one that has a blem in the batch the whole batch goes as blems even if nothing is wrong... its marketing, they sell more and it doesn't hurt anything. This goes for more companies.
Looks like a killer deal to me, brotha. I just recently submitted 2 SBR's for approval. I'm getting mixed responses for the wait time.. but this is day 3 lol. I had to wait 9mo. for my suppressors. At least they all went through within 2 days of each other. They batch approved 3, and then 1 separately. I like BCM though. Definitely no complaints from me. Thanks for the vid!
Most of my SBRs were less than 2 weeks, even when suppressors were 9-12 months in the dark times😂 I’m sure you’ll get the approval ASAP. Thanks for watching 💪🏼
The industry needs to start building uppers with roll pins where the charging handle enganges\grabs. I like how the mk2 beefs up the cam travel but I dont think they have steel pins where the charging handle catches. Old school bcm will always be a goat
Would love to see a video on the comparison of your other upper compared to this one. Appreciate your opinions and looking forward to seeing which muzzle device you go with!
Unfortunately I sold the MK2 upper a few years ago, but I WILL be comparing this upper to my Geissele URGI and DD M4A1 in the future. I will post a vid once I have this rifle set up!😎 thanks for the watch and comment 💪🏼
I'm 100% with you on the Mk2 upper opinion. To me the extra mass on the cam pin channel is a useless addition that can cause compatibility issues with some billet lowers. Love me some BCM but the Mk2 upper is a miss imo.
You just can't go wrong with BCM. I've had nothing but good experiences with their products. The MK2 upper is better for suppressed use and it moves the forward assist to making charging the rifle easier. It's less cluttered.
Quality rifles for sure. Just wanted to share a way to get a new BCM for as little as possible, if you’re okay with potential cosmetic blems. Thanks for watching!💪🏼
Blem is short for Blemish. Which can mean color is off or during laser engraving it could of been a lil off like a mis print. Blem is only referring to the cosmetics nothing to do with functionality. Just might be off on color or mis print on engraving is all.
Are there any keymod blem uppers? I like the way keymod rail covers fit better than MLok ones. Plus it will match my 300 blackout BCm upper. Now I see why you are wearing nitrile gloves
A simple email to BCM will give you the answer to what their definition of blem is. Some companies are just cosmetic and others are guns that have been repaired
Was really debating on whether I was going to buy this up or not. Seen it on sale right now for 700 bucks. do you think it’s worth it or should I just build my upper from scratch? Bum Upper receiver, match grade 14.5 barrel with a “mid”hand guard?
Building is also a great option because you get to personally handpick components. It is very likely you will get better accuracy out of a match barrel vs this standard government barrel. However, if you are okay with anywhere between 1- possibly 3 MOA, the BCM upper is well worth the money. Not to mention the BCG is free right now!💪🏼
I thought blem meant there was something wrong with it (out of spec somewhere) and they fixed it for resell? So technically it’s used so they resell it as blem?
On the BCM site, this upper was advertised as a “*COSMETIC BLEM* “ they usually indicate that it’s 100% functional, there just may be scratches or dings
@@scottkain7474 it definitely works, I phrased it incorrectly. What I was trying to say was it’s not ideal for suppressor use, as it lacks labyrinth seals that are present on the MB, 3P, and 4P, you will get more gas escaping out the rear of the suppressor with a war comp, also some people say they carbon lock more easily as a result of the ports
Be careful with putting a brace on a lower that came with a stock. Likely means that lower was processed as a rifle. I’m not positive on all the rules but I know that a rifle cannot legally become a pistol. Besides, a 14.5 upper on a pistol lower just hurts my soul to see lol
Hurts my soul as well, surefire 3 prong is in the mail waiting to get a P&W on this guy! I’ll post another video with this rifle fully set up. But the Blem lower was transferred to me as a “Receiver” from my FFL which enables it to go either way💪🏼
@@foxtrotfirearms762 good deal! As long as you know that info. That’s why I’m switching to all stripped lowers that way with a stock, brace, 16” and less than 16” barrels I can just swap uppers with no hassle
Putting a brace on something doesn’t make it a pistol. If the upper is 14.5 it’s still a rifle. Putting a 10.5 upper on it with a pistol brace will make it a pistol
@@ReticentIndignation I ordered it without the pin and weld cause they don’t offer a Surefire 3 prong. If I would have put a stock on it, the ATF probably would have breached my house by now
Great value for a BCM set up!

Nice video. Look forward for your accuracy video😀
I bought a blemished lower and handgaurd from them and there usually isnt a noticeable blem, they have really good QC. Ive been happy with bcm so far
Great video!
Same with my Wilson lower blem, I found some tool marks, scratches, on the magwell.

Love it. 14.5 is legit, I’m thinking about doing a 14.5 p&w when I rebarrel my 16” gun here soon
IIRC the Mark 2 has ports to help bleed off gas for suppressed shooting. That would have as much value as dedicated suppressed charging handles.
BCM and LMT are my go to
Was bout to get the same thing, solid choice

@foxtrotfirearms762 AWESOME! HAHA. Dark days indeed!😅 Thank you for the heads up, i appreciate it.
I got approved a couple months back within 4 days for a form 1 sbr filed as an individual. 2 of those 4 days were saturday/sunday.
Solid rifle

no, most of the time companies sell blems with small cosmetic defects.
Yeah, it's usually just cosmetic defects.
