  • Fall asleep on a new relaxing trek through the heart of Alameda County aboard an 8-car San Francisco/Daly City train, as it journeys into Lake Merritt Station in Oakland from Bay Fair Station in San Leandro on a sunny weekday afternoon.
Bay Fair Station is BART's northbound transfer point in the county for passengers looking to switch between the Richmond and San Francisco/Daly City trains. Lake Merritt is the final stop for both trains before a split up ahead in the Oakland tunnel. There, San Francisco/Daly City trains head left toward West Oakland Station, while Richmond trains continue north to Downtown Oakland and 12th St/Oakland City Center Station.
In all, this Bay Fair-to-Lake Merritt stretch of BART (and vice versa) takes about 15 minutes.

This is an update to a two-part shoot of the same ride back in 2010.

This 8 car train is not the usual train you'd normally see with an A car. I think this came from the Daly City yard for some part of the day after the trains coming from Pittsburg Bay Point were done with the morning rush. They save this train in Dublin for some parts of the day, bring it back and swap for their normal longer trains.
