VEVOR wood / kindling splitter

  • I was recently in Indiana where my hosts had two Vevor splitters in two sizes. I ordered the larger of the two while still at the campsite. I felt that this would be a much safer option for the boondocking lot than an axe or splitting maul (and much quieter than my gas splitter).     I’m thinking a slightly heavier hammer might be good, like a small hand sledge.

      That would be good, this one is just the one I found while moving the ditch at the boondocking lit.

    You need to put that thing in big bucket, then it'll catch the timber as it's cut and save you having to bend down so often 👍

      I made one out of an old axe head and a plate of steel. I keep it in a bucket so I can't fall on it. The bucket does work well for catching splits and slivery bits.
