Big thanks to the NHL for putting the game on a Friday so I could stay up for this appointment viewing of an LFR.
Steve has very possibly hit the disappointed father stage of his fandom. He’s not mad. He’s just disappointed.
He has watched the Leafs be given chance, after chance to prove the doubters wrong... And fail miserably.
He has seen them spend actual fortunes to create teams... Then watched them get dominated by teams with barely half their budget.
He has reached the point where is having to debate whether THIS or the Zamboni game is "more embarrassing".
How much more anger can he even offer this team? Can he really be expected to still have hope anymore?

What makes this loss worse is the fact Vegas played the night before and lost to Boston. They should have been the tired team. So, playing the leafs is the cure for whatever ails other teams.

It's worse than that, they have 3 the whole draft. It's bad when the first pick is in round 3, but 3 the whole draft is so much worse.
They will be using Toronto's first round pick before their own at this year's draft and they were the seller last season. Let that sink in.

The Bruins having been basement sellers last year while the Leafs were contending buyers with most of their key pieces still in place means the Leafs really should be better than them this year, but it hasn't quite panned out that way.

I just wanted to mention that Vegas was on the SECOND HALF of a back to back where they had to play BOSTON IN BOSTON last night, a heavy, tough team, and I do not hear Vegas having to make excuses about the schedule. They just went out and conducted business. That is all.
Leaves always get a home game after the other team plays the night before and has to travel. If they had a schedule like the rest of the league, they wouldn’t make the playoffs! Oh, and it will get worse. They’ve played the fewest road games of anyone!

Yep. Captain Stone said it best...the team plays for each other. Eichel's second game back to Buffalo in fall of 2022 showed it. (The first game back to Buffalo, Stone was injured--heck half the team was--Eichel had just come back from the surgery, and the Knights missed the playoffs.) There was no way Vegas was gonna lose this game.
