Alissa nailed this song perfectly matching angela's vocal range, which is very hard to do. I dont think anybody else can do better than this. They are slightly different in terms of singing. Alissa has better vocal ranges in my opinion but i love them both. Arch enemy did NOT make a mistake by choosing alissa at all. Saw them live in NYC she was great as a frontwoman.

She can't do it really well, you have to look up bands that play brutal death metal or death metal.... Maybe tutorials in case you want to avoid all the music

Even though Angela sounds like Satan preparing to take my soul, Alissa showed/ shows progress with her vocal abilities. She can do clean vocals well, screams well with noticeable changes throughout the years, but believe me that it's a talent to scream and sound amazing while the microphone is away from her and she does that,listen to first day in hell live and you will hear what I'm talking about.
Very nice. But Angela has little bit wider vocal range. From growl to scream when sang "i will be god" and "i need...". Trve demonic vocal. I like woman screaming more than growl.

But first when i heard Angela, i thought "this man is not good as liiva, but he had stronger growls and screams", then i realised it was a woman hhhhh, i've heard female growls before that, from bands like opera IX and myriads (such an incredible underrated band), but not with such intensity as angela.
I met Alissa when she was touring with Kamelot. She was courteous enough to take a pic with me. She does a good job - she had some pretty big shoes to fill, but I think they chose an excellent replacement for Angela. The Agonist's replacement vocalist also does a solid job. :)
I don't know what it is, but I just can't get into Alissa's growling. Her clean vocals are really good, but she's just not on the same level as Angela when it comes to growling.
I think Alisa is good for Arch Enemy image, well she is young and beautiful but also can growl. This factor will increase the Arch Enemy fans, and The Agonist fans can started to liking them too, haha. This is all about marketing too I guess.
I see a lot of comments saying that her voice is not as powerful as Angela's and I can understand that in some specific performances. What I didnt like about Angela's voice though was that it sounded very artificial and processed to me. Maybe some distortion effects, some compression... I don't really know. I appreciate alissa voice more because it's more raw and "un-proccessed". Maybe a better mix and a bit of effect would help her sound stronger live
I thought they put Angelas vocals through the rig about 10 times before mixes, she sucked everytime I saw them live, got nothing but praise for Alissa.
She does well. But no one is lovely angela and has her voice. Angelas high raspy screeching voice was in key and had a beauty to it. Alyssa growls lower key more
