Indeed on both counts. That there is no genuine "meta" is perfect. Pick what works with your play style and you won't be thrashed by the new meta. Personally, I just love the P90 as far as SMGs go. I do see more MP7's on the ground, so it may be the most popular (?) but it's not because of a superiority that forces it's use. I hope they keep with this balanced gun approach. Except, of course, the TAC 50, which I won't use on principle after picking one up from the ground and rapidly getting 3 easy kills with it. And if I can do that, an above average player becomes an intractable problem. I'm pretty confident they'll deal with it soonm. Until then, it's just a nuisance, a frustration. But they did a very nice job with ARs and SMGs, which I'm inclined to use. With all the problems people (rightly) bring up, it's important to let Ubisoft know what they have done well, too.
It seems like the P90 is just generally better out of the box than the MP5. Maybe give the base MP5 a 15% or so range boost? That’d help make it the slightly slower firing but more versatile at midrange SMG compared to the others. Either that or make it like the M4 where it has the fastest base ADS speed.
I dont understand, the MP5 is all i see people running, maybe its cause im at a low level so its all people have but the range on that thing is still pretty good but not the best and this is in base
@@corncobbler1710 double barrel has decent one shot potential. Aa-12 is decent with the cleaner passive and pump shotgun in worst in my opinion. Also headshot damage does nothing for you and ads seems to make the spread of pallets ever so slightly smaller
Same, shotguns are trash ,it's hit marker machine, very inconsistent, dying behind cover ,sometimes you die instantly, sometimes take forever to kill someone, this game need serious fixing....

With attachments involved, the P90 is the clear winner especially right now when most ppl don’t have guns leveled up very much. The rapid fire barrel on the P90 makes it equivalent to the MP7 in close quarters TTK while also killing faster at range, having a bigger mag, easier to control recoil and faster strafe speed. Note: This is a higher skilled player’s opinion, so your mileage may vary. 11.5hrs of solo queue play time with a 2.6 K/D
And the vector will kill you at those ranges. As for ease if use. Yes. P90. Its mag is forgiving. Its range is forgiving. Its mobility is great. But I can rock 7.5% increased fire rate AND 40% straf speed on a vector and get 12 head shots very consistently at mid range. If your fighting with people at the range the vector is losing to the p90, use a sniper rifle.
Im having a blast with this game, i love the simplicity of it. Pick a gun get a handfull of attachments pick a character and off you go, it brings me such old school cod vibes i which i love. I hope and i really really hope that the devs keep it simple, fast paced small to medium size maps, and just a few attachments per category on each gun. I dont wanna have to go through an essay looking at my gun stats when choosing an attachment
the advanced customization of weapons in mw these days is what brings me some of the most fun out of the game. I spend so long looking at different attachments not only for stats but also for aesthetics.
The more I play xDefiant the more it sucks me in to play just one more game. It feels like I have to tryhard sometimes but it also feels like I can tryhard in a relaxing way because of matchmaking. It has some issues and room for improvement but if they pull off proper support it gas a place in the FPS scene for sure
Having similar experience with this game. Guess it will depend how serious you take the game, but it's actually really fun to play and imo much less toxic than cod.
Hey Ace, I think you should strongly consider automatically filtering out any comments that use emojis. 25 minutes after posting like 1/3 of the comments on this video are bot accounts with pornographic profile pictures, and theyre all using emojis in their obviously spam comments having nothing to do with the video. GamersNexus and other large channels use these types of filters for this exact reason, and as a youtube OG I'm pretty sure they would share their filter list with you.
Well considering Ubisoft, you'll be paying ten dollars a month for skins. They literally just added that to Rainbow Six Seige after ten years of cycling different monetization methods. On top of season passes, and operators you have to buy. This is already after they killed their previous season passes, after years of chipping it's quality away after they killed loot boxes. Things like ads stability for example. I know that would take alot of time so i get it if its not prioritized but id love if at some point that video comes out in the distant future at'least! Hi! Thanks for the tips on the SMGs. As a heads up, it is really hard to distinguish the colors on the chart starting at 41 seconds on mobile. Even with it held horizontal, the blue lines from the 10 shots look exactly like the 5 color. You might want to make the pattern larger or use something like a dashed line instead.

the vector with the muzzle booster and heavy barrel together gives you a ttk of 269ms on 100hp, the second fastest full auto setup in the game after the aa-12
I think a simple buff for the MP5 without it being too strong or outclassing some of the SMGs is to give it a damage range boost. In the description, it says that the gun is a good all rounder and it's not wrong to an extent. But the MP7 is just straight up better while the P90 gives you more ammo, so making the MP5 something you can use beyond 20 meters like say, 28 meters, -Could give the SMG a niche to be better at medium ranges in its' class. Other than that, they could just improve the handling and mobility so that it fills in that niche for those that want to be aggressive and Speedy Gonzalez lol.
Was definitely looking forward to this, due to some of the in-game stats being inaccurate compared to what you've been sharing. Now I know it doesn't matter which SMG that I use for my mobility setup in terms of movement speed, so I can pick one based on personal preference ❤
I think the MP5 could use a slight buff to either its movement speed or its damage range to make it stand out a bit more and give a reason to choose it. I’d say buff the movement speed to 4.45-4.5m/s so that it can be the SMG that really leans into the movement of the game, or buff the respective ranges out by like 0.5-1 meter to give it a bit of an edge.
I was wondering why the Vectors time to kill felt very inconsistent but now it makes sense, gonna try out P90 instead. I'd love to see a video going through how the different attachment stats actually affect gameplay as some of them are a bit confusing or seemingly do nothing.
I think that the only reason the smg's are standing out right now is due to the poor hit reg. Overcome the hit problem by just making sure you put as many bullets into a hit box as you can. Try using the marksman rifles and the hit reg problem is much more noticeable.
I really enjoy the vector. The way it melts is addicting, can’t wait to unlock more attachments to improve the areas it doesn’t exceed in like ammo and range.
Can't wait to see the lmg comparison. The RPK has felt incredible to me but truegamedatas stats say otherwise. The ttk chart looks bizarre compared to the other LMGs. Was wondering if that site messed up the ttks for the RPK
Could you please cover DPS as well? In a game with a lot of micro-damage (fire ammo) and micro-heal (Libertad passive) and extra HP (Libertad ultra, Phantoms) sources, DPS might just be a more important stat for a gun's lethality than theoretical 100 HP TTK
I feel like there needs to be a chart for the cleaners specifically as well. Like does the tick dmg cause you to get a kill in effectively 1 less shot for any gun? (This will be extra usually for weapon types like the marksman rifles which the first one is seemingly 3 shot body shots for any class except the cleaners are 2 shot)
The SMGs are very fun and effective, but they have a very high skill gap. These seem to be the two main reasons why people have a hard time with SMGs: 1) They don't utilize movement enough 2) They're afraid of recoil increasing attachments I think the Vector needs a buff (to mobility?) to compensate for its horrible range, but other than that I think the range dropoffs are absolutely necessary for weapon balance. Even with max (+12.5%) movement speed builds the SMGs have very controllable recoil. A significant range buff would make them broken in most non-linear maps. Movement is a HUGE deal in this game and SMGs shine at it.
I don’t think the Vector needs anything. In fact, the MP5 needs a buff of some kind to make it actually stand out compared to the other SMGs. Right now, the only reason one would use it is to unlock either the P90 or Vector
@@brawler5760 I see the MP5 as a slightly worse hybrid between the P90 and MP7. P90 is great, but it doesn't have a fast stock available, so you can't build it for movement speed like the rest. MP7 is rapid but worse at longer ranges. With the Vector you either have to kill your movement speed to get range, or kill your range to get movement speed. The latter is probably preferred, but it's still a lose-lose situation.
Something that’s extremely important to consider: the P90 is VERY limited on attachments. Some of the best available attachments on other SMGs aren’t available on the p90. Also I found personally that when kitting out other smg’s, I was trying to put on attachments that make them comparable to the mp7, so I feel that the mp7 is the most versatile and well rounded sub in the game
Love Vector design, thats why i pick this over the other smg, however it takes quite a bit of time to get use to, the highest rate of fire with the smallest mag size basically makes the first 0.5s of your gun fight a make or break moment. The small reserved ammo number also mean I have to ditch the Vector for another gun. But once you get a hang of it, it will shred enemy before they even have a chance to turn on you. I was running cloak echelons with this but later on I use vector on cleaner, since the range is never a strong trait of a smg, I would definitely prefer extra tick damage from fire.
I feel like aim walking speed is crucial in this game. Get yourself the leather wrapped rear and front grips as well as the lightweight stock. You’ll be able to strafe so much easier, avoiding bullets and correcting your aim at the same time.
I like the AK from assault rifles and the MP7 SMG. Hey Ace, have you read about a theory on reddit that disabling crossplay improves network connection? One user mentioned that it takes longer to get a match but hit reg and TTK feels a lot better.
It makes it much worse for me on average when I disable crossplay. I rarely ever end up on my best server when I do this and in the P90 clips from this video, you may notice I'm on an Asian server. This was due to the fact that I tried disabling crossplay.

@@TheXclusiveAce Ok, so after playing for about 3 hours with crossplay disabled here's what I experienced: Hit detection definitely feels better. I normally use snipers and since I had 5 levels to go for gold on my TAC-50 I tried that first and my shots felt more consistent, got less hit markers and weird kills that I feel I shouldnt have gotten. After level 100, I changed to the MP7 because I'm leveling up all the guns I want to use and if this gun was already very good, with no crossplay it melted people!!! I could notice a big difference between being on target and being off target, there was no weird headshots or hits registered when off target. If I missed shots, I missed shots. It felt good even when dying, if I got killed I could tell it was fair and square. Don't get me wrong there was times when I died around a corner, but this time it was a day and night difference. Instead of being 9 out of 10, this time it was the opposite 1 or 2 out of 10. Bunny hoppers were not that difficult to deal with, I ran across a handful in a few matches and I could kill them just fine, they did not feel invincible like they usually are. Overall, I think disabling crossplay worked for me. I live in north Texas and usually connect to the US central servers, sometimes west coast and rarely east coast. I didnt struggle finding gamea with no crossplay, there was a time when it took a bit longer to find one match but it wasnt unreasonable longer than usual, about a couple of minutes more or less. Usually found matches as quickly as usual. All those issues I experienced these past week, today with crossplay off, were almost gone. Gun fights felt better, nothing felt unfair, those annoying bunny hoppers didnt seem as bad.
This is funny cause the MP5 in this game reminds me of its place in MWIII back in the day - the P90 just being objectively better in pretty much every way.
Vector with the weapon damage increase attachment that also decreases rate of fire is in my opinion the way to go. It makes accuracy easier to manage and damage output is still strong. It still beats some of the smg but it adds a consistent feel to the overall performance.
Can’t lie, this is why I like these channels. From pure feel alone (granted AA in this game is strong and I play -2) I would NEVER guess the mp7 has the worst recoil (technically). Even at range i have zero issue, and I feel most people would agree. Could be CoD bias giving me delusional confidence, but as you said, all the SMGs have very manageable recoil. Wonder if anyone noticed anything with the base MP7 recoil. Never would’ve guessed.
Heads up! The mp7 and the vector become a 5 shot kill with the heavy barrel (the damage boosting one), with the mp7 it makes it kill 38ms faster and the vector 33 ms, however thanks to the slower fire rate they become more controllable and very slightly conserve more ammo, don't miss this
The only reason I haven't played with the vector yet is because of the mag size. If mag size increases didn't require such high levels it wouldn't be an issue, but leveling the vector to mid-20's before getting a high capacity magazine seems painful! Otherwise the MP7 is really good, but I use the ACR and TAC-50 90% of the time due to longer range engagements,
The MP5 is definitely a gun that I would love to see have a role in the game. It's not bad, not great, but somehow, that just makes it suck honestly. It starts to kinda get good when you put the right attachments together, but it's a rough ride until then
I would've appreciated the MDR being included in this... not only becauae it's supposed to fit between SMG's and AR but also because it downright outclasses all the SMG's in all three movement speed stats, range, and reload speed. And only falls short in ADS and sprintout speed, both of which have early attachments to fix. I'd argue that the best SMG is this AR.
Just practicing in the range the odd one out for me was always the p90, even though on paper it performs better than half the roster on the 25m target it ended up being really inconsistent and I had a better time with the mp5. P90 feels like the objective SMG when you can just run repeatedly hit triple and quad kills on per mag from site.

They've done such a good job with balancing the weapons in this game. The only real problem I've seen wrong with it is the snipers not having flinch.

Don’t jump or slide. Get the laser under barrel and the choke. It’s amazing when you stop yourself jumping.

You have to stop moving before you shoot w the shot guns or it fucks up ur spread. Same with jumping while you shoot it will make ur spread wide af

Been using SMGs mostly, and the P90 and MP5 are my favorite. Run and gun is so fun in this game.
The P90 is my favorite! The game really needs TDM though. Hopefully they add that game mode.

I'd love to see a video going through how the different attachment stats actually affect gameplay as some of them are a bit confusing or seemingly do nothing.
I think that the only reason the smg's are standing out right now is due to the poor hit reg. Overcome the hit problem by just making sure you put as many bullets into a hit box as you can. Try using the marksman rifles and the hit reg problem is much more noticeable.
With the marksman is it hit reg or a movement accuracy penalty? I feel like I am way more accurate when I am not moving when ads

I know I wasn’t crazy about the MP5. As soon as I got the p90 and vector I have not gone back. Probably won’t even level it up at this point

I really enjoy the vector. The way it melts is addicting, can’t wait to unlock more attachments to improve the areas it doesn’t exceed in like ammo and range.
Can't wait to see the lmg comparison. The RPK has felt incredible to me but truegamedatas stats say otherwise. The ttk chart looks bizarre compared to the other LMGs. Was wondering if that site messed up the ttks for the RPK
Could you please cover DPS as well? In a game with a lot of micro-damage (fire ammo) and micro-heal (Libertad passive) and extra HP (Libertad ultra, Phantoms) sources, DPS might just be a more important stat for a gun's lethality than theoretical 100 HP TTK
I feel like there needs to be a chart for the cleaners specifically as well. Like does the tick dmg cause you to get a kill in effectively 1 less shot for any gun? (This will be extra usually for weapon types like the marksman rifles which the first one is seemingly 3 shot body shots for any class except the cleaners are 2 shot)

The SMGs are very fun and effective, but they have a very high skill gap. These seem to be the two main reasons why people have a hard time with SMGs:
1) They don't utilize movement enough
2) They're afraid of recoil increasing attachments
I think the Vector needs a buff (to mobility?) to compensate for its horrible range, but other than that I think the range dropoffs are absolutely necessary for weapon balance.
Even with max (+12.5%) movement speed builds the SMGs have very controllable recoil. A significant range buff would make them broken in most non-linear maps.
Movement is a HUGE deal in this game and SMGs shine at it.

@@brawler5760 I see the MP5 as a slightly worse hybrid between the P90 and MP7. P90 is great, but it doesn't have a fast stock available, so you can't build it for movement speed like the rest. MP7 is rapid but worse at longer ranges.
With the Vector you either have to kill your movement speed to get range, or kill your range to get movement speed. The latter is probably preferred, but it's still a lose-lose situation.
How do they compare on hipfire? I feel like that’s an important quality of SMGs in CoD. Maybe not as much in this game.

Something that’s extremely important to consider: the P90 is VERY limited on attachments. Some of the best available attachments on other SMGs aren’t available on the p90.
Also I found personally that when kitting out other smg’s, I was trying to put on attachments that make them comparable to the mp7, so I feel that the mp7 is the most versatile and well rounded sub in the game

Best part of this game is how each gun truly feels unique and fills a specific role. None of them feel the same. Hard to say with cod these days

Love Vector design, thats why i pick this over the other smg, however it takes quite a bit of time to get use to, the highest rate of fire with the smallest mag size basically makes the first 0.5s of your gun fight a make or break moment. The small reserved ammo number also mean I have to ditch the Vector for another gun. But once you get a hang of it, it will shred enemy before they even have a chance to turn on you. I was running cloak echelons with this but later on I use vector on cleaner, since the range is never a strong trait of a smg, I would definitely prefer extra tick damage from fire.

I feel like aim walking speed is crucial in this game. Get yourself the leather wrapped rear and front grips as well as the lightweight stock. You’ll be able to strafe so much easier, avoiding bullets and correcting your aim at the same time.
Used to watch your cod vids but got tired of cod.

Hey Ace, have you read about a theory on reddit that disabling crossplay improves network connection? One user mentioned that it takes longer to get a match but hit reg and TTK feels a lot better.
It makes it much worse for me on average when I disable crossplay. I rarely ever end up on my best server when I do this and in the P90 clips from this video, you may notice I'm on an Asian server. This was due to the fact that I tried disabling crossplay.
@@TheXclusiveAce well, a lot of people replied to that reddit post saying it improved for them, but there was a few people who had the same experience as you. I haven't tried it yet, but I will report back when I get home and play a for a bit.
@@TheXclusiveAce Ok, so after playing for about 3 hours with crossplay disabled here's what I experienced:
Hit detection definitely feels better. I normally use snipers and since I had 5 levels to go for gold on my TAC-50 I tried that first and my shots felt more consistent, got less hit markers and weird kills that I feel I shouldnt have gotten. After level 100, I changed to the MP7 because I'm leveling up all the guns I want to use and if this gun was already very good, with no crossplay it melted people!!! I could notice a big difference between being on target and being off target, there was no weird headshots or hits registered when off target. If I missed shots, I missed shots.
It felt good even when dying, if I got killed I could tell it was fair and square. Don't get me wrong there was times when I died around a corner, but this time it was a day and night difference. Instead of being 9 out of 10, this time it was the opposite 1 or 2 out of 10.
Bunny hoppers were not that difficult to deal with, I ran across a handful in a few matches and I could kill them just fine, they did not feel invincible like they usually are.
Overall, I think disabling crossplay worked for me. I live in north Texas and usually connect to the US central servers, sometimes west coast and rarely east coast.
I didnt struggle finding gamea with no crossplay, there was a time when it took a bit longer to find one match but it wasnt unreasonable longer than usual, about a couple of minutes more or less. Usually found matches as quickly as usual.
All those issues I experienced these past week, today with crossplay off, were almost gone. Gun fights felt better, nothing felt unfair, those annoying bunny hoppers didnt seem as bad.
This vid made my thought on the SMG class feel sane, i felt like the P90 was the best and the MP5 just sucked once i useed anything else

This is funny cause the MP5 in this game reminds me of its place in MWIII back in the day - the P90 just being objectively better in pretty much every way.
MP7 doesn't win out in the stats but it feels better than the rest to me. Especially when properly loaded out.

Think the Vector needs a larger default mag to make it usable. I’ll always go for the P90 or MP5 instead for the number of kills per mag.
Heavy barrel lowers the vectors ttk by 50ms, and the MP7s by about 40ms. Highly recommend trying it out
Vector with the weapon damage increase attachment that also decreases rate of fire is in my opinion the way to go. It makes accuracy easier to manage and damage output is still strong. It still beats some of the smg but it adds a consistent feel to the overall performance.
Can’t lie, this is why I like these channels. From pure feel alone (granted AA in this game is strong and I play -2) I would NEVER guess the mp7 has the worst recoil (technically). Even at range i have zero issue, and I feel most people would agree. Could be CoD bias giving me delusional confidence, but as you said, all the SMGs have very manageable recoil. Wonder if anyone noticed anything with the base MP7 recoil. Never would’ve guessed.
Heads up! The mp7 and the vector become a 5 shot kill with the heavy barrel (the damage boosting one), with the mp7 it makes it kill 38ms faster and the vector 33 ms, however thanks to the slower fire rate they become more controllable and very slightly conserve more ammo, don't miss this

personally my favourite is the Vector, because I like putting the most bullets downrange in the shortest time.

I personally just like the feel of the mp5. Its just the most satisfying out of all of them for me
as an smg player i really had to get used to not ego challing someone far away😭
The only reason I haven't played with the vector yet is because of the mag size. If mag size increases didn't require such high levels it wouldn't be an issue, but leveling the vector to mid-20's before getting a high capacity magazine seems painful!
Otherwise the MP7 is really good, but I use the ACR and TAC-50 90% of the time due to longer range engagements,
The MP5 is definitely a gun that I would love to see have a role in the game. It's not bad, not great, but somehow, that just makes it suck honestly. It starts to kinda get good when you put the right attachments together, but it's a rough ride until then

Haven't ran into any P90 players yet, but if I die to an Smg... it's been the Mp7...
I would've appreciated the MDR being included in this... not only becauae it's supposed to fit between SMG's and AR but also because it downright outclasses all the SMG's in all three movement speed stats, range, and reload speed.
And only falls short in ADS and sprintout speed, both of which have early attachments to fix. I'd argue that the best SMG is this AR.
It’s really great as an smg type build on maps with some longer lines of sight.

There is a certain build for the mp5 that makes it outclass all the other smgs at range
Just practicing in the range the odd one out for me was always the p90, even though on paper it performs better than half the roster on the 25m target it ended up being really inconsistent and I had a better time with the mp5. P90 feels like the objective SMG when you can just run repeatedly hit triple and quad kills on per mag from site.
They should increase mp5 headshot damage at range to give it an edge in something at least
