Good job Parkev. I even like this company more now. Bought 1000 shares after it crashed. The bad report was really a nothing sandwich after it was investigated. The only negative thing is that there is a lot of competition in this field. I prefer companies with a moat.
The current market cap is around $15 billion, not approximately $2.7 billion as there are both Class A and Class V shares with a total outstanding number of shares at 587 million. The 100 million or so shares are only for the Class A portion (that market cap for the Class A portion is the $2.7 billion or so). Assuming the Class V shares are worth roughly what the Class A shares are, this would make the stock overvalued based on this analysis of the value of equity at $9,481,610,816, which yields an intrinsic value per share at approximately $16.15 ($9,481,610,816/587,000,000).
@@pedr1nho813 Yes. The number of shares outstanding is given on their last quarterly financial statement and the most up to date information can be found on their SEC filings. This is why the market cap for the company on many financial sites, including nasdaq, show it at approximately $15 billion.
Thanks for the video - I noticed that you said the market cap is 2billion but Yahoo Finance and Google Finance is showing between 15-16 billion. Why is your number so different?
Symbotic Inc. has three different share classes - Class A, Class V-1, and Class V-3. The class A shares are what is being publicly traded on the Nasdaq (the others are not) and currently there are around 106 million of Class A shares outstanding. The market cap, (based on the most recent closing price of $25.59) for the Class A portion of the company is the $2.7 billion (106 million * $25.59). Currently there are a total of about 587 million shares outstanding, which is what you get when you add the number of Class A, Class V-1, and Class V-3 shares together, so that yields a market cap of $15 billion (587 million * $25.59). Technically, the Class V-1, and Class V-3 shares might be valued at a somewhat different price per share, but the company as a whole (based on yesterday's market close) is valued at around $15 billion. This would mean that the fair price per share (based on Parkev's analysis of the value of equity at $9.4 billion) is actually around $16.15 per share ($9.8 billion/587 million shares outstanding).
Predicting cash flows few years down the road is anyone's guess. Same as cost of capital which should be affected mainly by interest environment and equity risk premium. Plugging these numbers to arrive at intrinsic value can result in a wide range. If the stock becomes more volatile, beta would increase and valuation will drop
