I was seeing someone but not exclusively and I found out he was also dating someone else. As a recovering people pleaser with a fear of abandonment, I did something I know “the old me” would have never done. She also was convinced she had "fully healed" from the therapy she had had, but was really nowhere near that. (In my opinion, healing is a continual practice - it's something we do, not something we are or get to). And she ran from this connection specifically because the love she felt terrified her. It was a very healthy connection until she realized that she had deeper feelings. But I have never let myself get triggered from anything she did - I always kept clear that my love for her was more important than whatever egoic responses I could possibly make. (But I DID get quite a bit of trauma from her, and I had no idea what Fearful Avoidance was at the time - so I learned a LOT by going to therapy and doing my own research.) Not dumping my issues here - really I'm just impressed that your reading was so pertinent, even though it's not resonating with my current daily life - it still resonates with my overall story. And the central theme of her battling her own inner fear and wounding is very much in resonation. I always learn something from your readings - even if it's just a new way to view something, or a way to connect certain behaviors with unmet needs or fear.
