I am 55 the only reason i have to carry a wallet is my drivers license. everything else is on my phone. im about to just leave it in my truck so I can stop carrying a wallet.
I take care of my mom full time, so I got my id, her id, and then mine and her's credit cards... Then again she is a 80 year old woman that has trouble walking so anywhere outside the house I am at her side.... She dose tho keep her military id on her in a wallet in a fanny pack (little pouch worn around the hips).. In Minnesota where I grew up I always was told if you leave your property, have your id with you... Keep the wallet in a pocket even if it is a walk around the block...
I always take a picture of the front+back of my license when I get it renewed, and I have pictures of the rest of my important documents as well. It's not an intentional choice to have it on my phone rather than in person, I just have a "backup copy" (for want of a better term) on my phone in case I don't have the original for any reason.

Nope, you're not the only traffic cop who issues tickets and had people like him. There was a story of a cop in California who ran traffic for 20+ years and never had a single complaint filed against him. He was so nice and respectful that people loved him even though he issued them tickets. The news interviewed people he stopped and they all said the same thing, that that cop was such a nice guy.
Great news story for sure. In all the times I have been stopped due to my own stupidity, 95% of all the officers have always been professional and even personable. It's a two way street. But just cause the the news doesn't report it as common doesn't mean that it isn't. I personally think it's the opposite. An arrogant or disrespectful LEO is the rarity even tho it can happen.

But it's scaling.. if 1% of all interactions are bad... if that's out of 100, we'll that's 1 interaction no one cares. I'm Canadian. I've never been to Arizona. There are major roadways in the city I live in that I don't know the speed limit to, and I have to look at the sign on the road to make sure I'm not speeding. Thanks to Deputy Frank, I KNOW what the speed limit is on Ganzel and I always will.
Couple little tidbits. Many moons ago, my grandmother had a special, designed for the purpose pouch that hung from the trunk springs, the torsion kind, that was for her vehicle documents. I thought it was odd, but she said it's safe and she doesn't have to worry about anything happening to it when she was having the car services. Me, I keep two copies in my car in different locations. I also keep a picture of my DL on my phone in a secure folder as a back up in case I get absent minded and forget my wallet. Not my primary, but a redundancy.

It's the same in Ontario, Canada. A cop is a cop, wherever he is in the Province. A cop from Ottawa can arrest you in Kenora. For those without Google Maps that's a 20 hour drive away.
Before I became a commercial truck driver, I would warn drivers of speed trap ahead. Now, I smile and laugh when I see a speed trap. Bear waiting for a customer 😂 I interact with D.O.T. law enforcement City county state sheriff office, all very cool. They are nice because I have a 3 ring binder of all my paperwork. I explained if my truck is loaded or empty. They are so happy with a smile when I am empty. I drive a 5,000 gallon bulk tank of Liquid Propane. I tell them, it only blows up once😅 Do you know how to get rid of that propane gas smell ? Light a match 😂

It's the same in Ontario, Canada. A cop is a cop, wherever he is in the Province. A cop from Ottawa can arrest you in Kenora. For those without Google Maps that's a 20 hour drive away.
Before I became a commercial truck driver, I would warn drivers of speed trap ahead. Now, I smile and laugh when I see a speed trap. Bear waiting for a customer 😂
I interact with D.O.T. law enforcement City county state sheriff office, all very cool. They are nice because I have a 3 ring binder of all my paperwork. I explained if my truck is loaded or empty. They are so happy with a smile when I am empty. I drive a 5,000 gallon bulk tank of Liquid Propane.
I tell them, it only blows up once😅
