I'm loving the new aspect changes, they genuinely feel so much more complex and fun than before. I like that a lot of them now incentivize using multiple abilities in tandem with each other whereas before, you were almost always better off just using one button
Yea except the melinoe axe
@@alvadagansta well yeah but not all aspects should incentivize the same playstyle either. Variety and options in how you want to play is ideal right?
@@leandervandegriend2347 Well, it's possible to achieve both at the same time. Like, Thanatos is arguably better for Attack Hammer-focused builds because of the extra speed, AND it empowers Omegas, too! Melinoe Staff empowers every kind of Omega, etc. They're as narrow or flexible as you want em/the run allows.
I don't want any Aspect to only empower one button. I think Mel on Skull is okay because of how useful it is to catch Skulls with the Omega Special, but on Weapons like Axe, there isn't inherent synergy between Attack and Specials, so it just feels kinda... inert?
I was surprised by the change to the Mel axe. It feels like they could have done something more with it. But then again, Mel aspects are supposed to be the "default" aspects, similar to the zag aspects in H1, which is probably why they are more basic
The Silver Wheel: "You Couldn't Live with Your Own Failure, Where Did that Bring You? Back to Me"
DUUUDE hahaha! The game updated when I took two days off and forgot I was mid run. I was going all-in on non-Omega reaching lvl. 9 Apollo (+190%) on Specials (and +76% from Chaos). Loaded in expecting death at Chronos and noticed my Omegas were repeating and kinda easily beat him for the very first TIME! Ridiculous update-- I love it.
what do you mean mid run...you can exit and return mid runs now?
@@morag2378 you always could
@@atshame6712 so if i exit the game it returns to where i was ? wow never knew
@@morag2378 the little save icon appears every time you enter a new room
@@morag2378
If you finish a room it saves there.
@22:00 I experimented with this. So if you use a reroll the game has to change at least one option in the pool. With the fear on that eliminates boons on, what happens is that it loses its ability to pull new options into it, but since it has to give a new option it just eliminates one of the options instead. You do not notice it unless you have 2-3 boons left in the pool since it will never override one boon with spare wealth. If you have one boon left available in the pool and you reroll (which I have done) nothing happens.
Love the new icons and the quality of life change with the offerings menu. But we're never going to be ready for when they reveal Narcissus.
21:57 "You get NOTHING! You lose! Good day Sir!"
Did a run with this last night while I was watching your patch video. Definitely an unexpected change to the weapon (I figured it’s affect would just get nerfed) but it was fun to play and let me fight from a safe distance all the way to Eris with no problem.
Been stuck in Elden Ring DLC prep, but I'm still watching these. This game is so good, and it's fun to watch even when I'm in a break.
Genuine question, I’m good at roguelites and want to get into Elden ring but I feel so late to the party picking up Elden ring for the first time especially with the dlc coming out. Do you have any tips on getting into the game?
@@Juggajay7don’t be afraid to look stuff up if it helps you enjoy the game. Genuinely, the more you’re able to do totally blind the more fun I think it is, but don’t listen to anyone that says don’t look anything up ever. Also, don’t neglect your vitality stat so you can survive longer and have a better chance to learn the game/bosses before you die
@@Juggajay7just start playing it, the game is great and since the dlc is coming up tons of people are replaying so the online community is very active right now so you’re not missing out on that either. One thing to note is that the game is very open so if you’re having trouble on a boss there’s no need to brute force it, there’s tons of shit to do. Also try out different builds, it’s more fun that way
@@Juggajay7as the other commenter said, I can't stress how important it is not to be afraid to look up info for say useful tips against bosses or even good weapons or locations for upgrade materials. Sure there's some enjoyment in figuring things out blind but if the cost of that is just running around dying against everyone without knowing what to do it isn't worth it
@@Juggajay7 Elden Ring is one of those GOAT games like Hades that I'd really recommend picking up even if you knew you'd only get to play it for one week and then never again, so I wouldn't worry about being late to the party.
I'd recommend picking up the game, playing a less complicated start character like Hero or Vagabond and then going out to hit stuff and die a lot.
If you want to play a mage style character, I don't recommend starting out that way. You need strength and vigor regardless, so you might as well enjoy the early game and get into spells a little later in.
Note: If you really love completing everything, Souls games suck because they lock you out of quest lines because you didn't talk to someone, go halfway across the world to find where they were having a picnic, and then had the gall to kill a boss before you brought a gift to their birthday party.
If you want to get it all done on character one, there are step by step google docs that can point your way through the game. I don't recommend it for the sake of how awesome the game is when you just explore, but some folks (including me sometimes) get super overwhelmed on nonlinear games where it's easy to miss stuff.
ill still always miss my momus poseidon gattling gun. RIP
So I've been experimenting with hexes again coz I liked them even before the buff, and they're legit awesome now, twilight hex (sheep) costing so low is amazing and makes runs incredibly safe, I ran a charon run with it and only took 3 total hits after I upgraded the hex till beating chronos coz I was only fighting sheep till him, there was wolf howl which gives you i-frames so it's basically a gigantic dodge/placement option, lunar ray did 43k damage after upgrades (which were done just before cerberus, so 1 biome), and I've started running the hex arcana just for fun (I'd say it's still worse than Huntress/Death/Moon and needs 1 grasp cost nerf). All this is made possible by the new moon beam buffs, which not only give you 5 upgrades (I'll discuss this in a bit), those +5 upgrades *persist after you take off the keepsake!!* (it did for me once but I need to test this).
So 5 upgrades means that first off, even if you take a crescent moon hex you can get it to epic in one go because it costs 8 to upgrade to epic in most circumstances, and taking the full moon hex gives you 10 upgrades, which usually (unless its the v shaped graph, which sucks) means you can get 2 rare and one epic upgrades, which pump up the strength of the hex immensely and they feel pretty great to use.
Imo a decent time to use moon beam is if you think you aren't getting your magic spending's worth because of some unlucky builds, or if you want to mess around, or if you got a great hex like lunar ray (which for people who don't know can fire on its own if upgraded, making it free 1500 or so damage if used with origination). Its honestly really fun to build around and again if you missed it, moon beam upgrades persist after you take off the keepsake so if you didn't get it in oceanus you will retain the +5 upgrades to the next path of stars.
I never really noticed this aspect until after the balance patch, and I love it.
It was different before the patch. It boosted omega dmg and also healed you before
@@abpruductions1 It was special and omega special, but yeah.
You didn't notice the most broken aspect or you didn't notice it worked like that? (which it didn't)
@@BunnyAceI personally didn’t realise how powerful it was until the night before the patch. That was… a little sad. But hey, it’s still pretty solid.
I think a lot of players initially skipped over Momus because Special Spam on the staff is so anemic by default. When you could 4x or greater the damage output with a mere 2 boons though it became much too powerful.
Only thing i dislike about Momus is that the Cast doesn't preserve Omega Cast boon effects like Apollo and Poseidon.
It works in an interesting way with Poseidon cast though allowing you to stack a bunch of cast orbs
it would be pretty op though
It does work with Poseidon, and also Hephaestus, kind of (each echo is one more clang).
i saw this run live and the damage at the end really shocked me
it really is the apsect of: jsut spam all 3 omega moves which is quite fun
I did a special focused build with this that ended up with the hammer that doubles your specials, giga moonburst and the apollo legendary. Every single chronos phase went down to one button press of the omega special. I am loving this new aspect
I got Poseidon Cast and the boon from Demeter where your cast follows you, and gotta say, it was pretty nice... because I also had Cyclone on cast and Slip.
Vow of forsaking still makes it easier to get duo's and legendaries, just not as much.
So say you want Winter Coat from Demeter to get the healthpool duo off of her and Aphrodite -- by taking any boons that aren't Winter Coat you shrink the deck of avalible boons so that you can hit thouse requirments faster. You still need to _roll_ the duos and legendaries themselves once you have the requirements, and if you don't they just won't show up, but the requirements are still easier to put in place.
It's the same principle as in a dekcbuilder liek Balatro: "Thin to win."
You didn't read the latest patch notes. They nerfed Vow of forsaking. From the patch note : Vow of Forsaking: no longer helps ensure you quickly get Duo and Legendary Boons
@@Ynot563 they meant the prerequisites are still easier, the actual chances to roll the duo/lego are still the same. obviously not as strong but still helps
Was definitely not expecting such a massive patch this soon. Supergiant is COOKING
I just did a New Momus run earlier. Got the Power Shot Special and the Dual Moonshot hammers. Power Shot's mana regen was buffed to 20 so every Omega Special fired 6 times for increased damage AND generated a net 10 mana
I kind of want to see the epic Howl upgrade inflict Hephaestus’ sprint on targets.
Hi Haelian! I'm shinymewtwoinchernobyl and I joined this stream! I just want to say that I love your content and appreciate it whenever you post a new video (especially when it's a torch vid hehe). Thanks for all the quality content you gave and will continue to give us, and remember: take the bonker!
Something i discovered yesterday when playing with Apollos cast is that it triggers Zeus (not cast) cast "support" boon that makes enemies take lightningstrikes triggers when apollos cast trigger. I used the axe that trigger the cast when using special, this might be why it goes off under the duration of Apollos cast. Not 100% sure but it felt like it and the dmg went upp when i got Zeus boon.
9:15 selene path of stars is cheaper. the one where you get the hex remains the same
22:50 omg I'm not the only one that experiences weird technical issues
This could maybe work well with the Poseidon cast, assuming the splash explosion goes off three times in a row?
It does! Not sure why certain Ω Casts trigger with the aspect three times and some don't.
Nah could suck cuz the Poseidon cast pushes normal Mobs away, only good vs bosses
Could be good vs bosses
i'm so pissed that i'm stuck at work right now lol. might have to bust out the steam deck and sneak in a run. these new changes are so much more than i expected. i randomly checked for a patch last night before bed after a solid 10 hours of hades all day and i was like okay fck me then 😆
Hi Haelian, thanks for the vids :]
I ran into a synergy today that I think has serious potential. I was thinking of dropping it here in case you wanna try it (maybe you already have):
Argent Skulls: Mel
1. Hera attack
2. Possessed array (picking up skulls triggers an omega attack for 0 magick)
3. Keen intuition (omega moves used while at 100% magick deal more dmg)
Since possessed array does an omega attack for free, it always procs keen intuition because you're always at 100% magick (normal attacks only)
On top of this synergy, I grabbed Ingenious strike which primes 20 magick to add +10 power to ATTACKS (free omega attack from picking up skulls triggers this)
*surface run
That’s cool I will give it a shot
@@D0verking69 I had a lot of fun with it, especially if you can get the Hera boon the procs the hitch damage when enemies die it's pretty insane ... I still died cus I was doing 24 fear and I suck lol
Early in the video, but I wonder if the omega boon thing not triggering with the refire is specific to apollo (so like would Poseidon get the Omega affect 3 times).
i just played the new momos yesterday after not playing hades for a week or so (last time i played ibeat it for the first time)
and i beat it again with momos rank 1.
to be honest i had a disgusting luck with gods as well but that 3 casts orb is just so fun to play with
22:00 If I had to guess the way the made it less likely to give you the legendary: they keep all the banished boons around and offer you 3 boons you haven't taken yet, but if they've been banished, they don't add them to the UI. When you roll, you're seeing Extra Dose and 2 banished boons, even though there's another unbanished boon available. It does seem like there's some code quirkiness when there are 2 or fewer unbanished non-duo non-legendary boons though. Like, initially they populate the offerings with as many unbanished boons as they can, but the roll forgets to do that
The crash after could even be from trying to banish an already banished boon due to the roll going screwy. It didn't draw your health or magick bars correctly when you entered the next location.
This is my favorite new one so far. So much fun.
The omega cast is a little weird. I think Posiedon is the best for it.
I think more selene hexes should use the damage of the base weapon, maybe total eclipse gaining damage in the same percentage as the special or dark side triggering attack boons would make the ehx scale better, those effects could also becone the new purple part of the path of stars
i was doing the exact same run (except i am using Persphone aspect) it hits harder with mom aspect
Dan's "AROOO" when activating wolf howl is so cute 😂♥
24:30 i am one of those who cheated through 32 fear using Momus machine gun. I feel attacked....
Same lul.
Loving the changes but very happy I beat 32 fear before it
Good to know about solar ring. 🤔
Really impressed with Eos, Momus, and Thanatos changes.
A lot of drops/items have variants. Perhaps the selene boon encounter is didn't/different, and the gold price reduction is for getting more moon path points.
the spam meta is very much aliveeeee, just changed momus to pan and the hammer that makes the special omega shoot in a circle as well as wave flourish on special it is insaneeeeeeee
Seems like it could be cool with Aphro cast to suck everything in so all the other omegas can be dumped pointing at the same spot and all hit. Looked like the bouncing cast made it miss the aoe burst pretty often too so not sure if that hammer is good with momis. Super cool though! (Too bad I didn't do my 30 nightmare yet lol)
I wonder if poseidon cast is the best on this, like it instently triggers so you instantly get the orb damage ya know?
Poseidon Cast x3 is pretty insane damage, would recommend
Got it to be hitting for over 2k every hit with only 1 chaos cast damage. Could get more nutty than that I'm sure.
I think cast hit cerberus 5 times to get to half then 5 more to dead, so only 4 omega casts total to kill since each hits 3 times now
oh my god that Hecate fight was insane
I liked the vow as being more of a risk reward, it makes it easier to get the legendary but you also might miss parts of a build and you have to be more inventive. From a gameplay point of view it should be balanced bit more for fun too.
Also game could definitely do with some sacrifice wells
Would love to see a reworked Thanatos run. It actually felt really great to use.
Just defeated Chronos for the first time with this literally. I was on 2 health when that firing orb came in and dealt the killing blow.
25:00 I see they didnt fix the "armor leaves you when you switch keepsakes" thing
I'll miss mommus' old aspect effect but that new one's so fun
It does synergize with geyser ring so yeah have fun with that
Yeah that's a hell of an aspect now on the bosses. Anything can can stay still enough to eat all 3 charges is gonna melt.
I think this run is much better with Persephone's aspect with skull now.
Zeus Special Auto-Firing, applies blitz, you attack and trigger blitz before special hits again. you are your own backup, debuff applier.
They really should make dark side do more damage somehow (*at least* by applying your boons to the attack/special, and even then it might be lower than normal), but take away the invulnerability somehow (maybe it stops after absorbing some number of hits, or something?).
"Dark side" feels like it should really increase your offense, maybe even at the cost of your defense... maybe it makes you take MORE damage for a few hits/few seconds, but doubles your damage output until you do?
The scylla fights have some glitches. In one fight i killed the guitarist while she was running into the water. And she never came back out. I had to restart the fight
Interestingly, Geyser Ring is affected by the aspect. It was the first build I thought of when I read the rework and it was a lot of fun.
Bruh this update came when I closed the game like 2 days ago and now I'm in the middle of my surface run on 8 fear to get nightmare from Eris. I have momus because I wanted to try out the healing special and took the double wallop(?) hammer for fated list. The hammer got removed and now I'm hit with +30% damage with no healing aspect 😐. I'm about to enter polyphemous fight so I'm hoping this double omega carries me bruh
16:47 it’s REH-jih-gig-us
Momus plus Demeter sounds like a fun time
I feel like momus and Poseidon probably still love each other. Poseidons omega cast going of three times would be good
putting on wheel and then giga moonbursting every individual moneybags, I'm sure this will go well
Which is the best aspect now?
my guess on why solar ring doesn't work as expected is because it lasts for a while after the omega cast pops instead of just doing the damage and disappearing, so it eats at the little balls time
no, if you watch carefully, you can still see the orbs bursting while Apollo is ongoing
My game freezes like that all of the time dude. One time it did it twice in a row and then made me completely restart like lost all of the progress and I was in tartarus about to complete 24 fear with the skull canmon
wow that build is cool
Old Momus was broken, insane damages, but only one button mashing.
New Momus looks so much more fun ! With much more diverse ways to play it.
That was a great run. Buggy, but fun !
Frinos should turn into a sheep when he eats that attack
Bro is fast with getting these out gd
Wish they had just added new aspects for Momus and Than, its fun to all in. Just make the rest better. New ones are fun though.
momus with Poseidons Geyser ring is extremely good tho
i think the 3 god pool was better but i guess 4 is better for vow of forsaking
Better than before? Probably not. More fun than before. 100%!
So i did get Apollo lego with Momus and it looks like the apollo lego just erases Momus ability
Am i crazy to think wolf howl giga moon blast was crazy on this? It cost less than the blast and it gave the next omega crit, so you omega special wolf howl omega special wolf howl repeat and you get 1000+ repeating damage with time slow down and i frames
Kinda disappointed solar ring doesnt trigger thrice 😂 works really well with geyser ring though
This aspect is nuts but you always have to take heras magic regen. It's almost impossible to sustain otherwise
I feel like aspect of Mel is obsolete now. Momus rewards omega spamming so much that I can’t think of a situation where the extra channel speed would be better if you have Sorceress activated.
Im kind mad about aspect of eos. Felt like the only one that built into attack. Which they changed the useless other one
I like most of the new changes from the patch. Only things that I'm not a big fan of are the changes to the torch specials (they're garbage now imo), and 4 gods per run (harder to make particular builds since the game tries to force 4 different gods as fast as possible)
Love the videos. I’ve played for 35+ hours and still haven’t gotten the pet frog. Is it just luck to unlock it?
You unlock the ability to make treats at the cauldron and then give frinos a treat.
@@667doomgaze Is it just random to unlock it or is there something specific I have to do? I've killed Chronos 5 times, played 35+ hours and still haven't gotten the treat recipe
@@EricSp33r I'm not sure what the trigger is. Have you looked at the second page on the cauldron?
@@EricSp33r you have to find him, he is close to where you sapwn after a run 😁
The new Mimos seems as broken as ever and the faster torches seem very Mimos like.
More balanced and more engaging to play? big W
My take on new aspect of momus is that it’s a good change overall. The previous aspect really made it feel bad to get boons that buff anything that wasn’t special and omega attacks were particularly not very useful with it. The new aspect kinda pushes you to diversify your build and not just spam special and win. Much better design and really like the new aspect. Idk about how strong it is but it is much better designed from a gameplay perspective
Agree its cool, but it was also the best/only regular special spam build. Plenty of other builds can spam regular attacks.
@@Leedeane100 i think aspect of pan does a good job of doing both tbh, since early game you dont really have enough magick to sustain special spam and its hard to get every enemy into your cast as well so you still need your main attack. Particularly your omega attack to close distance to put down your cast on them. At least until you get a ranged cast boon, then its just throw cast spam omega special. I'm not super familiar with the other weapons and aspects tho
@@ryanhoang1123 Yes, I agree it works really well. But in playing it feels more like a cast spam than a special spam. Your cast dictates where your specials go, and your omega special isn't "spammy"
If the cast gave + special (not omega) damage to incentivize using the base cast and getting the Double Moonshot, I would be down. There's just this really cool machine gun special and momus was the only one that really let it shine.
this aspect is going to make hephaestus builds so much fun because you *do* get 2 more hits with his cast
The change to the duo and legendary offerings is weird to me. It made picking boons a much more strategic and deep part of the gameplay. Sometimes id get two boons offered that I would want and id reroll to hope one wouldnt show up. Or make the choice to sacrifice one. Theyre already so underwhelming that for the most part I dont even take duo/lego in runs anyway so it doesnt really matter.
Momus triggers Poseidon Omega every time
I don’t like that they’ve reduced the magic needed to trigger Hexes because I think the real problem with them is that none of the effects are powerful enough to justify the player completely halting their DPS just to get this big move off. They have a long windup animation where you’re not doing anything and you’d rather just be attacking the enemies with your boons that you’ve been building for the entire run. Any decently synergistic build will completely outclass the benefit you get from your Hex, not to mention half of them are completely useless against Chronos. Also, in order to make the Hex effects viable, you have to upgrade them a lot which means you have to equip Selene’s keepsake, but there’s no guarantee you’ll even see the Path of Stars. idk it just feels like they were designed to be a replacement for call boons, but they are not nearly as effective.
Cool run tho. New Momus is pretty sweet.
honestly, not really. the windup stops time, which effectively removes it, like yeah you the player are waiting for a little while but that's a little while during which nothing can harm you and the real reason for DPS is that you want to harm the enemies faster than they can harm you.
@@renneverbrightThe wind up
doesn’t “stop time” btw ( unless they changed it with new patch and i have been ignored Selene existence since forever ), what it does is similar to omega channeling, the timer still flow, Chronos doesn’t get affected by it. So if you care about going fast u will never use it, and using it vs chronos is hardly ever worth it.
@@ramies6159 only a small percentage of people care about going fast, and Chronos is ironically slow enough that the lack of slowed time doesn't matter if you mind your placement, even with things like Moon Beam.
@@renneverbright by saying chronos is slow i guess u haven’t played with +40% speed then, the time investment in finding opening for hexes is not worth when u can get more dmg from ur normal build in the same time. Also going fast is literally the requirements for running high fear, 20 and above u have to take 7 min limit to make ur experience not miserable. I guess ur statement is true for casual only doing 2-3 fear then.
@@ramies6159 Absolutely. But having done 32 heat in Hades 1, I'd both question whether you should actually be that pressed for time if you're regularly running that heat, and how much of the playerbase is at your theoretical point where hexes stop being effective.
alot more fun than mashing special
Wanna try higher fear runs?
Thank God they lowered the Magick cost for Hexes, now they finally could be useful
Except dark side, now you have to wait longer for the ability to drastically lower your dps lol
Poseidon Cast is insane on Momus
Im gonna try this when i get home, shiuld be nuts to deal dmg x3 😅
I rolled spare wealth into a Legendary last night, reported it as a bug.
Momus works with Geyser Poseidon Omega. So 3x Geyser
Is it just me or does Chronos have some interactions that just feel unfair now like with the spinny thing he throws, it feels a lot harder to avoid i swear i dash behind him when he's just about to finish the animation for throwing it but it spawns directly behind him and hits me anyways that never happened to me before this patch.
Shimmering Moonshot looks like it will be garbage now.
selene was 175 before. so technically she is cheaper. but practically, hexes are still not worth more than 50
I hope they continue to make changes to Selene. She feels more like a chore or burden to come across
T. Chasm. Volcankc strike. Ice flourish. Slolder ring.
Talk about abusing momus
Edit: i also got room temp in bio 2
seeing a streamers pc wallpaper feels so taboo like im not supposed to see it
I hope they revert that Vow of Forsaking change. You pretty much can’t get Duos or Leggos correctly with it on now, and the previous version felt good for the game. I agree that there should be an additional downside, but now it just feels awful and way worse than 2 Fear.
Maybe increase the fear but not changing it. Vow should be something you feel bad to take and provide Only downside not something that will benefit you one way or the other.
appolo legendary broke the omega attack for me, probably good you didnt get it.
first, Lets go haelian!
