I won't deny this is well written but BOY do I hate her even though I get it 😅😅 See my full uncut live reactions to the episodes over on Patreon www.patreon.com/BrandonReviews
The book really helps with this because Kiyoka is told about what happened between Miyo and Fuyu so they did cut some things out probably to make it feel more cohesive and less filler. However the part where he threatens his bother (to burn her to ash) at least in my opinion really showed that he is the family head and won’t take any disrespect from anyone, not even his family
Miyo is hands down the best character in the entire series. All this oppression and she doesn't try to find grudge or hatred for anyone, cause she wants to believe and trust in the compassion of others, even if it comes to dealing with some of the most despicable of individuals.
I personally do not think that the mother-in-law is despicable. All she tries is to protect her family's reputation and status. We just need to consider that this is a fictional world with a feudal class system. Family's status can rise and fall quickly as we have seen in season 1. Additionally she thinks Miyo has no powers and brings no benefits to the family. This also means that she neither does know how Miyo has been raised or that she actually has saved her sons life with her powers. It might be strange from our modern point of view, but I can understand the mother-in-law to a certain degree considering the surroundings.
She is insufferable, she deserves to be treated like trash if she lets people do that. Just stand up for yourself! She is a disgrace to her husband, she should understand that her sheepish servant-like attitude is a shame, if she wants to be married to a great man, she should be a great woman and have some pride and dignity, not to wear servant clothes and being treated like trash.
@@alexanderdean8682 I guess that you are from America. But my friend, this is Japanese society in the mid-20th century, at this time feminism did not exist in Asian countries, with the ideology of respecting men over women, you cannot ask her to have the same feminism like now. This is absurd in the feudal era!
Sure the mother-in-law is being a capital B to Miyo, but compared to the living hell her Step Mother and sister put her through, telling her to dress and do chores like a servant honestly sounds like bridal training
While watching, I was like treating her as a servant ain’t nothing compared to what she been through with her step mom and the fact that even some maids looked down on her a littel and gave kiyoka’s mom the idea of servant treatment makes no sense cause every prominent family has servants so , hypothetically if she didn’t know how to do chores it’s to be expected, cause you got people to do it already, at that point she was just looking for any faults she had
When you hate the character its means the writers did a great job the mother in law is awful but also the product of her environment and upbringing however it still not excuse but you understand. I want her be hit a reality check and be humbled strongly.
i'm loving this season so far!! i will try and help make this do better. i want to see you continue covering it!! i was so excited when i saw the new season was up i wonder what kudo would say when he hears miyo has literally been demoted to a maid. he wouldn't act because miyo begged him not too and to trust her but BOY would he be mad and i like the hints we get of the otherside of mrs. kudo. she cares deeply nut that care comes out very harshly. i have to wonder how she raied th ister for her to turn out to be a big ol ball of sunshine but the one i'm most suspicious of is actually the dad. while he was on edge around the mom for good eason i noticed kudo was also vey guarded and suspicious of his dad when they met. he wanted the man to get away from his fiance. and also the way he doesn't have to do much to deescalate a situation makes me think they're also a little afraid of him.
Emotionally abusing someone even if under pressure for the sake of her family is still wrong. I am sorry, I can't give the mother a pass on this one. The only way I will forgiver her is if she has the character growth enough to realize that her way of thinking is wrong and that she changes not just her attitude towards Mio but how she behaves in general going forward. That might be too much to ask for though. Thank you for covering this series, emotionally maniplulitive moms aside, I really enjoy this one.
I have a theory that Kiyoka's mom may have mistaken Miyo for her half sister, and is responding like she is because the only Saimori daughter she knows about is a useless waste of space. For example she didn't know anything about Miyo having Usuba blood and abilities so she's clearly at least partially out of the loop. I foresee a pretty huge turnaround for the mom once she learns the full details about her prospective daughter in law.
Dude, same. I also kinda hate the excuses for why she's so terrible, even though they make sense and I do get it. It all just pisses me off. I think I need to chill out a bit about it 😂, but that woman had me so heated this episode. Miyo is a better person than I am and too good of a person for all this crap. I hope you'll continue talking about this series on here, that's one of the reasons I decided to comment.
yes i want more videos, and the mom is lucky that her husband allso saved her there cause if she did manage to hit Miyo she would be going up in smoke or lightning depending what Kyoka's feeling at the moment cause he will certainly know that something happend
Well there is that great argument of well written characters within the series, and so far so good. Yes the Mother is very anger-inducing, yes she's infuriating, yes she is the epitome of rotten to the core, but, after the semi-revel, you can see why she is this way as per how the husband explained. When you have certain people in positions of power or of importance, they will have that tendencies to become who they aren't suppose to become or transformed into someone that may be a complete opposite of one they were before assuming a position of such importance. Yes, I am one of those as well, but I had to watch it play out first before, making that assumption. But once it was reveled as to why, then, I feel that the why the mother handled things, can you really blame her for who she became after getting married with a couple of children? Otherwise, I love this series, and I'm really looking for to what is going to happen next, now that we get a little taste and see who our adversary is and what Mio's power can really do when its manifested within this "Dream Realm". Until then, Enjoy!!
My Happy Marriage went downhill once Kouji and the Saimori's stopped appearing in it. A big part of what made the show good was watching Kouji grow as a character and watching him adapt to his new situation.
Myo is a complex character. What her future mother and law says to her is no different than what she heard from her family growing up and so it drives Fuyu, her mother and law, crazy that she can't get a reaction out of Miyo. Miyo has a lot of faults, yet she wants to try and do things on her own to get Fuyu to accept her. It's a big change compared to her character back in Season one. Keep watching people, because it gets better.
This might not be a popular opinion, but I believe Mio made a huge mistake when accepting to work as a Maid. I love her as a character, and she fights aggression with kindness and I am all for that, but..... There are two things happening her: 1. The Mother not being able to calculate things well for the future. ex. Married her daughter of to a place she was not liked - Divorce. Raising the heir in a way that he mistrusts women - disinterested in women. And now having the wife of the Heir dress up as a maid and work with other houseworkers, because she thinks she will not do it. Well...she did, and now on to why this is a really bad idea? (below) 2. Mio doing the, "I will win her over by showing my resolve no matter what she asks of me" sounds good on paper, but this is a high ranking family, and if it ever comes out she was made to work as a maid along the servant that will be a massive blow to the Kudo family reputation, when she becomes the wife of the head. Imagine if one of the maids from the household she worked along with is fired in the future. Now that maid has information which could ruin the family. I know she is working back home as basically a servant, but only her husband and the old lady know. If she wants to enter the world of nobility there are things she can't do, and the mom has to change as she keeps messing up in the long term.
I disagree as her not being upset by doing chores is the whole reason everyone turned against the mother and we are at the tipping point of her giving into mio
@AHBrandonReviews Yes, on the short term it works. I am talking about the life long reputational hit she could get from this becoming a known fact among the high society, especially among the wife's of the powerful. It will probably not happen, as the show is not the type, but high society and upper class is present in the show, so you can never know.
Miyo is such a wonderful Lady , Kudo family will be lucky to have her as their daughter-in-law. How to be Miyo still being positive in every way😭😭😭😭 I would already throw all the *rolling eyes speaking to Kudo's mom. She stronger then steel.
I hate Kiyoka' mother so much, but she is a necessary character for both our boy and Miyo' growth! I really liked when the father in law explained how she became like that! Fortunately that Miyo changed before our boy returned home 🫡 At the end, Arata stopping her to use her power alone was perhaps for her own good? My guess is that if they cooperate, it would work out 🤔
Bro indian people or asian people will somehow like it but because in the asian country it could be common but outer its a boring stuff this happen almost every day in an indian family
I still watching this anime, but it is just a "cinderella" story and kind of I getting tired of Miyo being ok with everything. I think i will give up on this. Those evil characters are too much evil to feel real. Characters in this are either too nice or too rude. Miyo is literally the embodiment of that "This is Fine" meme.
The book really helps with this because Kiyoka is told about what happened between Miyo and Fuyu so they did cut some things out probably to make it feel more cohesive and less filler. This type of things often happen in Indian serials as well.

If bridal training comes with being hit they need new training lol
@@AHBrandonReviews I honestly agree with you. It's not training when you abuse the learner whether physically or not
While watching, I was like treating her as a servant ain’t nothing compared to what she been through with her step mom and the fact that even some maids looked down on her a littel and gave kiyoka’s mom the idea of servant treatment makes no sense cause every prominent family has servants so , hypothetically if she didn’t know how to do chores it’s to be expected, cause you got people to do it already, at that point she was just looking for any faults she had
"Bridal training" sounds like a terrible concept... I still don't think this woman is as bad as family.
When you hate the character its means the writers did a great job the mother in law is awful but also the product of her environment and upbringing however it still not excuse but you understand. I want her be hit a reality check and be humbled strongly.
The mom was giving Miyo flashbacks, but I like how the servants are proud to see her stand up to the mother.

She's lucky Miyo is just too nice to say a single bad word about her to Kiyoka.
The mother in law is the classic Oriental "Tiger Mom".
Please Keep Doing My Happy Marriage 😍
I do enjoy covering it but lot of this fan base is struggling to turn up for it but I'll keep trying

I don’t know about you, but I actually kind of chuckled to myself when Miyo told Kiyoka his mom was a cakewalk compared to her family! 😂
Mio deserves the world
She is also very strong and kind
Be strong enough to be gentle

I'm sorry. Miyo should've stepped her boundaries. In real life trying to accept anything someone throws at you is never a good.
im sure someone who has been abused all her life will get right on flipping her whole world view
@AHBrandonReviews her decision is still wrong even of she knows it or not.
Idc what anyone says, Fuyo is way better than Kanoko
This is like saying a used douche is better than a piece of 💩
@ still true nonetheless
The difference is kudo’s mom will come around
