I have basic all wheel drive for 19 months now, best value, compare to same price luxury car ( BMW 320I XDrive) or A4, no-brainer. This car should be compared to BMW 3s , A4 or Lexus IS or Infiniti Q50 because of price.
Love the genesis but its become overpriced! You can't even get just rear wheel drive anymore in canada. I have the previous Genesis and its amazing in the snow with just rear drive.
Overpriced? Most comparable vehicles from the "big names" cost thousands, even tens of thousands more in order to get the same sort of feature set and power.
it's become slightly more expensive but in no way overpriced. Try to get any other v8 self driving car with a great sound system, interior and exterior and all the features you could want for around 50k. You can get a base ~200hp E class with 0 features for over 60k. With a v8 and all the same features you'd pay around twice the price of a similar genesis...now that's overpriced. ;) That being said, buy it in 1 or 2 years when it's around half price and the depreciation slows down, now that will be the best car for the money.
***** Yeah they're great, definitely amazing used cars as well. I'm just disappointed with two things; the weight of the 2015 model (it makes it fairly slow even with the v8, although for a luxury car it's great) and the freaking subwoofer. On forums everyone said how the gen 1 was great, gen 1.5 almost as good and gen 2 almost no bass. I tried a 2015 model and I love everything about it but I just don't know why the bass is extremely weak. It doesn't cost much to put a new sub in, so why would they go with such a weak one?
***** I have the 1.5gen so I can't speak about the 2nd gen's reliability but you can check out genesisowners.com, there's complaints threads and I think it's mainly very minor nit picking stuff. When I tried the 2nd gen I played with the audio settings, turned up the low frequencies, etc. and I'm not a huge over the top bass guy, but it definitely felt more hollow than the previous 2 models which is really odd. Anyway, as far as my car, it's been good for almost a year now, my only issue was slight rattling from the rear sunshade when it's in the down position. Something might be a little loose and it's right next to the sub so the edge is hitting something. I'm adding more soundproofing though, so I'll take care of that. I'd say if you want a big slightly used V6 or V8 luxury sedan, there is no better bargain right now than the Genesis.
+Bobby Lemon Look at a Certified Pre Owned model if price is that much of an issue. For giggles I just looked and there is an AWD V6 with 23K miles for sale as a CPO for under $35,000.
In 2019, this car is no longer a good value. $24k now can get you a 2014 Lexus GS with all the amenities but more reliable and faster. In case u haven't read the spec, the Genesis weights 4300 lbs whereas the Lexus is only 3800 lbs. But then u said how about the v8 engine? Well with $28k u can get a Lexus LS460 so duh
The level of ignorance of this comment is astonishing. You are comparing a used 2014 Lexus in calendar year 2019, so five years old, to what was a new car in 2015. Explain how that logic and math works, please.
The lexus may be faster , yes. But the genesis has a nicer interior , very good safety features , a lot more comfortable, smooother ride . Unique styling and power is still adequate. Lexus GS interior is definitely outdated my man
I think the new Genesis is a much more mature/ nicer then the 1st generation.
Actually that was the 2nd gen you just saw and the 3rd gen are awesome! But those are still nice im looking too buy one real soon
This car catches my eye I always wondered what kind of car it was on the the streets
nice review. how is the road noise at around 70 mph compared to other brands of cars?
yehasiwaadiya Lexus level quiet

+Hamid CA It may be priced like a 3 series BMW or A4 Audi, but it's 5 Series BMW A6 Audi sized, so that's why it's compared to those.
Is the base model comes with the panoramic sunroof and automatic trunk opener?
No
Actually yes
Maybe
No. Signature package adds the sunroof and tech package adds the automatic trunk opener.
I'm. Buying genius. Now my stereo has no sound..700 for amp....
I love this car. Great review, I am considering to make my move in Spring 2016.
Alex Abrante Did you buy the car?
Do you get paid to do this? Is this your fulltime job?
no and no.

0-60 in 7 secs? That seems slow no? I thought it was 6.2-6.5 at most
David Castillo v8 is 6
It’s super heavy that’s why lol sad because last gen v6 actually did it in the upper 5 second range
