I think the program Keeping Up with Star Rail kinda shows their current relationship. They gotten a lot closer and probably know each other's sword technique to the point that they could talk about it in high detail. Still has a bit of banter but what friendships don't.
Honestly Yunli seems to me as obsessed with a sword duel as Tartaglia from Genshin Impact is obsessed with fights. It’s always fun to see such characters who seems like enemies to us at first or at least someone who clearly doesn’t try to be friends but only after spending some time with them we become close friends! And gosh Yanqing’s character growth is insane, it’s been not fully on screen but it’s so precious to see how we were absent but things moved on for him, wow
Well said, part of why I like HSR is the characters growth stays relevant throughout the timeline even though it's not from the main story. If it was like Genshin, Yanqing might've been a loser forever or has his development reset after the event.
They compliment each other’s weaknesses which is good thing. They also do and says that makes each other stronger. I ship them because I personally think they would compliment each other in future. The scene where they talk about their goals and dreams like a beginning of love story. If they go get married someday have children, their child is going to be amazing swordsman. They’re test to train March 7th is like test to see how well they would raise an heir in the future. Also in Chinese culture it’s very common to ship like this. Especially your parents and grandparents when they meet someone who they think would match well with you. I can see Jing Yuan’s vision for why he wants two to hit off. He’s not called The Divine Foreseight for no reason lol 😂.
Yan was introduced as a character that was overconfident in his skills & abilities, but on 2.4 he was displayed as somewhere that had many doubts & unsure of himself, this changing his character. Encountering & challenging people that were beyond his abilities might had been a good thing for him as he probably never encounters anyone that had given him trouble in a fight prior to the Express arrival to Xiaozhou.
