We became members of a lay religious community which also has a monastic expression ( Brothers & Sisters in their own separate areas/hermitages). My husband and I lived with the monastic community for 5 years. We were not called to monastic life but called to community. This monastery allows for both expressions. We participated in all aspects of monastic life: silence in mornings until noon (@ lunch), morning prayer/Mass, adoration, work, recreation, evening prayer, etc. I encourage those, married or single to search out these Catholic Communities. It's a very beautiful way to live out one's faith. Yes, when you go to a monastery, be prepared to "die to self." (OH, much like marriage!)
We were in a home Bible Study & the facilitators had Christian music on. We asked who was singing, they shared the CD with us: John Michael Talbot. Further discovering he started a Monastery in NW Arkansas. My husband and I looked online and signed up for a week long retreat (The School of Simple Living). We discerned we wanted more than just the Parish life (yes, we are both Catholics). We decided to join the Domestic expression (vs. the Monastic) since we lived in our own home and found they had a Southeastern Region of Domestic members! Once a year, the Monastery hosts a 4 day Gathering for all Domestic members around the US & and the world. (Always around the dates Feast of St. Francis of Assisi). The community is a blend of Franciscan/Benedictine. After a few years, we made our Permanent Profession & then after spending time at their mission in Nicaragua, (& my husband had retired), we asked to live in community at the Monastery. The Brothers & Sisters of Charity is their name. We lived there for 5 years, but with aging parents for both of us, it became apparent to us to move into his widowed Mom's home to take care of her. I highly recommend any Christian, who does not have a negative bias against Catholics, to pursue this community or others. We had also visited the Alleluia Community in GA. But further prayer & discernment (spiritual direction), we felt called to the Domestic expression of BSC, in Arkansas. Even living at the Monastery, we stayed as Domestic members.
It's like the four stages of st bernard of clairvoux; "1 love the world, 2 love God because of the world, 3 love God, 4 love the world because God call you to do so", entering a monastery should be because God calls you to it, not because of what it offers you. Although it could and perhaps should be exciting as well to do the will of God in entering a monastery.
Greetings from England Pints, just to let you know that RUclips has removed your video about tiktok saying christianity is bad behaviour etc, so I can't view it, we know when Christianity correct it gets attacked, God Bless
Nothing from the bible this teaching is found outside the bible from a man made religion. Read the bible repent of your sins and get the saviour Jesus Christ. 😅John 3:16 The Bible.
"Blessed are those who dwell in Thy house, ever singing Thy praise!" Psalms 84:4. "Seven times a day I praise thee for thy righteous ordinances." Psalms 119:164 The psalms constantly describe the Religious Life. And Jesus Christ constantly calls souls to go into Religion: "For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it.” Matthew 19:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life." John 12:24-25 And St. Paul says: "To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do. I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; but the married man is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried woman or girl is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit; but the married woman is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please her husband. So that he who marries his betrothed does well; and he who refrains from marriage will do better." 1 Corinthians 7:8, 32-34, 38

Interesting. I visited a few hermitages and were materially jaded. I'm sure there are good ones out there.
Beat the algorithm PWA! ✝️❤️🔥🕊️🌹📿☦️
Thank you so much - videos like this gets me through doubting moments, when the hard parts of life gets to me! God bless!
I agree totally, get to know them very well! Some of these communities have badly broken people so be careful on the journey to religious orders.
"Lean into the chaos." Advice for life.
This is what I’m deeply struggling with. I feel like I’m called in one moment but then I’m not called the next. It’s very frustrating 😔
Same. I've been feeling that spiritual friction very hard lately
Yes, I want to become a nun but I have health issues. so it’s very frustrating on deciding what to do :(

That's also the secret to the Sacrament of Marriage. If you're not expecting death, you're going to get it anyway. But the Resurrection is real :)
I loved this video.
Good stuff.
Nice one
Why does this dear Sister look like she’s wearing a hijab?
I know I'm a filthy protestant but I think Priests should be married and likewise Nuns should be married

🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️Please read your New Testament again my friend
Good thing Catholicism isn't man made then and was founded by Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, then.
