One of those few songs that brings the secular to the spiritual for everyone to enjoy. The lyrics in this song resonate so much more in today’s climate.
No man, he is a retqrd . His music sucks and his mentality calls for your death if you are unvaccinated. Follow this nazi schmuck sounding like tortured cats.
I know it's cliche to say, but this needs more views. If RUclips was around in 1999-2000 (when MGB were at their peak), I feel like this video would be in the 100s of millions range.
I used to work at an athlete's world. We had VHS tape with music videos on them. He came into the store with a lady and hello timebomb was playing. I helped them get some sneakers and just did my normal chatting with them. He thanked me after for not harassing them or trying to get something from them. I explained he is just another guy like me so no need to try and get stuff.
The girl on the street in Strange Days really was that girl. A few years after that video she over dosed on the downtown Eastside.I really liked and miss her.
This was filmed on Granville Street in Vancouver the 1100 block, that is the Pigalli room at the Hoilday Inn, I Iived in the St. Helens Hotel across the street. That is a real street kid from Granville, I used to see her around but I didn't know her.
Huge singalong when they performed this on a perfect summer night at Canada’s Wonderland, two months before before 9/11. Memorable way to mark true twilight of the Before Time.
I remember around the time this video was released, MuchMusic was doing an “I Hate That Video” day where people would say what videos they hated and then Much would play them. They did a celebrity one and it was one of the guys from Sloan, who said something like “Oh my buddy Matt Good - that video where he’s like the guardian of homeless people.”
@@concars1234 Someone FINALLY located it on a obscure channel, who had it turned off for a while for some reason. But Matthew himself won't post it nor will the record label. Weird.
Interesting fact; The girl pan handling in the hoodie with piercings was a real pan handler, I used to see her around Queen and Spadina all the time. Part of the Squeegees Kid generation.
My buddy Terry Wright took her in as a 16 year runaway (totally normal) one day a couple years later we sorta start hanging out. She overdosed and died a few years later. Terry Wright told me. She never mentioned the video. Terry told me that to.
If I'm not misreading the scene, I _think_ he was trying to tell her something that would distract or make her leave before the accident played out, as he seems to eyeball the delivery guy while he's speaking, but she notices anyway and goes towards it, which would explain why Matt shut his eyes after she got up, as I guess he knew the outcome.
He didn't make her. It was the Opposite. He was trying to stop her. Telling her 'You don't have to do this. You don't owe these people anything, etc.' She went for it anyway. He's just a guardian angel and he can't make her decisions for her.
Not so fun fact. Matthew good hired the female actress because she was actually homeless. Also you notice if the brunette woman didn't scold the delevery driver for looking at her butt he might have been looking at her when he drove off!
You've got to be kidding me. It's totally in keeping with the song and the video. Reach for the stars, do great things, retain your humanity and compassion in a world that devalues both, Don't cop out, Stand up and fight, and never get complacent, because the strange days are coming. They are already here. And the wall of fire is coming for those that forget their humanity and especially, their divinity.
2024 and still watching. Great lyrics and video.
Epic mate.

Always thought it was bizarre that they weren’t more popular.
I 'll never forget being 14, downloading matthew good's greatest hits onto my ipod, and having this song just wash over me for the first time

So well done. The music, the message, the video. Awesome. I miss this level of genuine quality and substance.

It really should have so many more views!
These music videos are better than most of the movies made today.
It’s like a movie in 4 or 5 minutes. If I watch the whole thing I cry. It’s a masterpiece.

2024 and this song is more relevant than ever
You'd be crazy to mourn this. Even for a little while.
This song reminds me when I was young and depressed in 2000. I was going through when my best friend passed away the same year.
Wow, this brings back so many past feels.

I have the biggest crush on Matt Good, even after 20+ years
Easy to understand given the sheer brilliance of his songwriting.
Same!
So good
love this song
this video is part of the reason why i am in a social worker, how silly is that? but it's true
Something about this video seems relatable…
I think it's a throw-back to Matt's previous album, Last Of The Ghetto Astronauts.
This has to be one his best videos, very moving.
Actually, his previous album was Underdogs. You're thinking of Apparitions. The song "Apparitions".
@@AVirtualTourist No, actually, I was thinking of LOTGA. I’m familiar with Underdogs and Apparitions. I was thinking of LOTGA.
