Crazy easy to take bike on train where you live. Nice! I like cycling at night especially in winter. I have a big yellow puffy that keeps me warm and visible. It makes me look like a tennis ball ha ha.
Hiya serafina, Im so glad your not under the black cloud of long covid anymore ☁️👊🏻 This was such a great video, really good empty trains, We are usually standing room only in the uk, We've just broken the uk record of over 40 °c it was very humid too, 🥵 It's gone down to a normal 25 °c☀️ much better 😃👌 I always wear bib shorts though our winters too, and a jacket on, even in -5 conditions 🥶 Keep up the great videos and positivity, definitely my favourite youtuber 👍🏻😁
Thanks Stephen! 😍 it's so good to be back, feeling energetic, able to ride, and create videos again 🙏💗 can't tell you how much I've missed it! 🚴♂️ I'm glad you're over the heatwave too 🥵 isn't it funny how cold 25 degrees can feel after a heatwave, yet how warm and summery it feels after winter. We had 17 degrees the other day and I was walking around in a singlet feeling like a summer day! I remember being wedged in like sardines on the trains when I was living in London, no chance of taking a bike! We are very lucky here 😁🚴🚂
Thanks for another fun video. There is the Rail Trail from Nuriootpa to Angaston in the Barossa. An easy smooth easy incline ride. The Barossa Bushgarden in Nuriootpa is also worth a look near the Linear Trail.
It's a really great video. Next time consider the New Gawler Cycle path. It means you bypass the Hilly & trafficked CALTON road. It then joins the bikepath to Lyndoch. Hope this helps
Thanks Marcus! Yes, definitely helps, we cam back that way but will head back and show how to get directly onto the bike path, avoiding the traffic 😃🚴🚗🚴♂️🚚
It’s amazing there hardly any cars and the roads are lovely. Didn’t see any pot holes. Looks like a lovely route… and you have actual gravel… I’ve never been on gravel before…. Unless you count when they do road works Your so positive and cheerful 😀 love it.
The gravel is so much fun, the roads always take you interesting places, I hope you get to try it one day!and and the tarmac roads are pretty good, you can cycle almost anywhere here 😁🚴
Great video, although I'm a Kiwi my Mum's family (Schilling) were among the 1848 German pioneers in that area. They later moved to Belton which proved to be a mistake as the farming was hard. My great grandfather was sent to NZ for work as a teenager. Showed her your video and she loved seeing as travelled there to a family reunion in the 80s, they drove from Adelaide to Belton via Tanunda.
Oh wow, thanks for sharing 😍 so many amazing stories, from those days. I imagine the farming would be incredibly hard, the land here is so very different from Europe, and even NZ. Where in NZ are you? I'm originally from North Canterbury 😁🥝🇳🇿
Oh really? I didn't realise they were doing both, thought they were all electric... it was a great train ride, no hiccups, not many people, and the train was so nice and warm! 😁🚂
Cool :-) My maternal grandmother was from Gawler... the other one was also from South Aus, I think, but she died over 100 years ago. So there is no special ticket to buy for the bikes on the train?
So you'll definitely feel at home here! It's in your blood 😍 ...you do need to buy an extra ticket for your bike in peak hours, but otherwise it's free to take your bike on the train 😃
🤣 it was 8 celcius but I was sooo cold! 🥶 I've definitely softened since living in South Australia, it doesn't get anywhere near as cold as New Zealand!
@@CyclewithSerafina What heat do you think is too hot?? You must live the heat … the 40c we had the other day in the U.K.. cycling in that was fine, wasn’t too hot at all. I cycled in lower temps and it felt hotter
What a great video. Such beautiful scenery and interesting history.
Thanks! origin stories are always fascinating, I love seeing the plaques 😍
Gotta love a new train. Love the tunes!
Trains are always fun, adventure! 😁
Fantastic ❤❤❤❤
Awesome adventure and video! I like how easy it's to take bicycle on the train there
Yes we are so lucky 😍 the trains almost always have space for bikes, I just avoid busy peak times 😁🚴🚴♂️🚂
Absolutely awesome that ride in summer is speccy as.
Yes! I'm really looking forward to doing it in summer 🌞 maybe for a weekend too, so much to see and do! 🚴😃
Yet another path i have looked at riding. Looks like it would make for a good one for a group ride
Oooh that's a good idea! catch the train with everyone, start early, make a day of it 😃🚴🚴♂️🚴🚴♂️🚴🚴♂️🚴🚴♂️

🤣🎾 I want a yellow one now! That is so cool! 😁
Love the video must go from Oaklands to Adelaide to Gawler by train sometime
Now the weather is warming up, it's perfect 🌞🚂🚴♂️

Thanks Ken 😃 I'm really excited, there's so much to explore around there! I'll make sure to check them out for a video, how long is the rail trail?

Yay! I wondering when you'd do a vid about the Barossa valley! I did that back in June 2020. Gorgeous route.🙂
I loved it! Did you do it in spring/summer? I'm looking forward to going back and spending more time 😃🚴

@@CyclewithSerafina there is next to no gravel in the U.K… we have dry or wet mud….. lots of mud
Oh wow, I'd never thought there'd be no gravel. So, not even in summer when everything dries? or I guess it doesn't get dry enough...
@@CyclewithSerafina generally the paths aren’t gravelled.. with actual gravel. Mainly just dirt paths made of actual dirt

Nice you were lucky enough to get an electric, I have used the train five times so far since its return and three of those five have been diesels.

You should have done the Angaston- Nuriootpa trail. Very scenic and an easy wind down after Menglers Hill.
Hey Marcus 😃 someone else mentioned that too, I'm looking forward to going back and riding it! 🚴
The Rail-Trail is well surfaced, slightly downhill &: passed through vineyards.
Puffa jacket 🤦♂️ LOL plus 5 more layers… nooooo… it must be 9 Fahrenheit
1 long sleeve layer, maybe a gore tex rain shell and you good to go….

Heat not so bad, it's the direct sunlight with the heat 🥵 or when it's 40 degrees for days on end, that sucks!!
@@CyclewithSerafina we had 2 days of near 40…. The entire country nearly died. It was a national emergency
@@fisharefriends598 we do the same here but when it gets close to 1 degrees! 🤣🥵
