Thank you for pointing the wires out. Made install super easy. I mounted low like you originally had it. If you want the handlebar mount that came with it. Let me know.
I just use my high beam indicator to adjust my engine idle. If the idle is to low, the high beam indicator dims at idle, and I increase the idle until the high beam indicator does not dim when idle. Is it correct? Hell I do not know, but I do know the idle keeps the battery charged. I do not plan on adding a tachometer. However, I did notice that our bikes idle approximately the same, so I must be doing something right. Take care Lucky, ride safe.
While not 100% sure it will I do not see why the wiring harness would change with the models being similar. No solution for the fuel gauge other than use the tripometer and track your mileage.
@LuckyAcesRiding I've seen the fuel gauges that go on the outside of the tank. Basically just two 90° elbows and a hose. I'll probably end up doing that. As for the tachometer the one you used is no longer on Amazon
@@FitzTrippleZ If I ever do a tank swap I was thinking of doing that mod for a visual fuel indicator. Stinks about that tach, it is a pretty good unit.
@@LuckyAcesRiding there are a couple on amazon, i was just planning one getting a cheap one. having no fuel gauge on a bike is dumb imo 🤣 i need one asap
My first inline 4 had a speedometer that only hit 85 mph . I broke it on day 1 . Used the tac as a speedometer on that bike . On my aero i know 2nd tops out at 40 , 3rd 60 , and i shift into 5th at 90 . I have no idea what the rpms are ? But when the rev limiter hits then ive shifted late . I don't rag on it , yet i do know it's limitations . A racing bike it is not lol

Doing this over the winter to my Aero for the same screaming issue at 70mph, thanks for the guide!
If yours is fuel injected it will read half and apparently need an adapter. Carb'd bikes it should not be an issue. Learned that from another viewer.

The cheap handlebar clamps are working for now. I think I tossed the original mount a while back because what on earth would I need that for lol!
Very helpful

Hey if it works it works!
Hey LuckyAce. I have a 2006 shadow spirit. Im assuming it would work for my bike. Do you have a solution for a fuel gauge?

Those speeds sound about right. Also mine must vibrate more than others because anywhere near 90 is not comfortable for me.
