Rocksmith has a small delay between what you play and what comes out of the speakers. Latency is normal unfortunately. Thats the biggest complaint i have about Rocksmith. It teaches you to preempt the beat. So it's a good tool for beginners and a great way of picking up the basics of a new song. But if you want to get it right you either need a copy of the song to play over without Rocksmith or a band. Otherwise I can see a bad playing style developing over time.
I'm talking about the PC version. Getting latency to zero is next to impossible. You may be lucky that your set up is fairly optimal but most aren't. For instance on my PC I had to disable the external sound card and run the game through the built in internal sound because the method the PC used to process the sound was the worst of all choices. But even with that fixed and various background processes suspended the lowest I've got my latency is 18 m/s.... That's down from 66 m/s. Clearly the latency on this video is far worse than that. But latency is a big issue even on PC. I just use rocksmith for warm ups now and have a split lead out to my amp so I have no latency at all. But it does mean the game doesn't score properly but I don't really care about that. Key thing for me is that if I learn a song with latency issues that will transfer to playing with my band. The game itself is less important than the opportunity to have a backing track to practice too. Most of the time I don't play in the same positions rocksmith tells you to anyway. Yet even though they are the same notes rocksmith sometimes fails to compensate. Sorry for length.

This is one of the most frustrating (and painful on the wrist) to learn on bass but once you get the power chords down it's really satisfying getting 97% on it and becomes one of the most fun to play

I never knew how Rocksmith depicted the strings and frets to play. It's very ingenious! If you can master this, you're a bona fide guitarist - just pick up your union card.
Sean Wilkinson as impressing the game itself is, the tabbing isn't too difficult to do. Think of Guitar Hero, but the lessons, scales, sound, bands, instruments, are insane. The amount of effort in this game is insane, Elison doesn't even show more than half of the game. That's why I love rocksmith, if your amp can't get a sound out, Whip out rocksmith and boom. Create your tone :)
Well I have tried to play Guitar in 2 years but didn't have time or didn't see the interest in learning because all I was able to do was simple things .... Then I started played Rockband until I got to expert and after that some people said I should consider buying Rocksmith with the guitar I already had and now..It's been 2 weeks I have it and I can play songs ... I don't know anything about guitar but I'm way better than when I wanted to learn by myself...!!
leonidas darks Yeah, the theory is not really necessary if you just want to jam with some songs in your room. If you want to play in a band and actually make songs, it might be helpfull.

Yes I’m beginner (1 year) and this is really good to train. Apart from solo indeed. You can also adjust difficulty if you’re really beginner (few weeks of experience)

I found it hard to adjust to playing like reverse tab but iv got to admit you do pick it up quite quick I got this Christmas day and at that point I could play a few simple riffs (smoke on the water material) but really quite shit and now 9th january managing to do knights of cydonia on 40.7 % at 90% accuracy 38% mastery. today done pour some sugar on me at 42% 92% accuracy its good cause you can see progress being made which makes you wanna keep picking the guitar up.
+th3slickness You can reverse the tab layout in the options menu. I have mine set reverse so the red E string is on the bottom, I'm used to playing tabs before Rocksmith so find it easier transition.

I see you're doing the same mistake as I did a couple of years back; lifting your fingers way too far up from the fretboard. You only need to get them off the string just enough for it not to be muted. Might help with that solo. ;)
I can play almost anything on rs 1st try but this song is literally torture to get above 95%,its as if it was designed to brutally torture guitarists. I also notice you're having the same lagging as I get despite having a beefy pc,I also don't know why RS doesn't register notes sometimes. Anyways great work,keep em coming
The game shows you some songs without the need of buying tabs. It’s quick to read and you can play half a song even when you’ve never heard it before. Also, the best is that the game can be used as amplifier AND all possible pedals and sounds you can imagine. Saves a damn lot of money and it’s much easier to tune your guitar to match a specific song

Bernie Dadoof Bends were wonky for me too but I was watching some live concert (don't even remember who it was now) and was watching how he bent the notes. Slow bends were up toward your shoulders and fast bends (vibrato) were down almost like you were waving at your feet (if that makes sense). That won't work with the high E because you would pull it off the fret board. It helped me a lot and it looks cool too. ;)

Jason Chapman I’m not the video author but imo I think it’s best to learn skills by playing many different songs, even if you miss 25% of notes. It gives you a broader skillset and teach you to be more familiar with the guitar in general rather than being familiar with a specific sequence of note. I’d say this way is best for the beginning and once you’re good enough you can learn one specific song at a time.

You don't need years to be as good as him. It's not that hard and after 2 months, and some training in riff reapter in slow-mo you should be able to play big part of the songs in original version. Then just keep practicing technique.

You have to get the Rocksmith cable, which is basically a converter from USB to Guitar. You plug it in just like any electric guitar. The sound in the game is overlay. You hear the song and your guitar as well .
There is chinese usb guitar links you can by for 10$ on net, they are great if you are using mic to conect guitar or line-in on your motherboard.Best one,that i know,even better than rocksmith cable is behringer,i have it,and i payed around 40$ for that. Outside rocksmith you can use guitar links in guitar rig or amplitube, that software produce 5x better sound and are more customisible than rocksmith. I have rocksmith cable for game, but i use guitar link for outside rocksmith, becouse is better, but if you have their cable it is 100x better than mic or line in on pc. You can even transcribe songs from rocksmith to guitarpro files,there is actual software that do that.
